6 to be totally safe.  4 or less and he is in deep trouble.

5 is a toss up.

Note that it may be really hard to replace him with another qualifying window following this one just a month later.

A replacement is more likely to come between the mid Nov. to late Jan break if it is to happen.  Of course the obvious question is will that be too late?

Berhalter’s record in 2021 is 13-1-2, he’s won 2 trophies, beating MEX in both finals in away environments with 2 completely different #USMNT, and he’s undefeated in WCQ. He sent a starter home from camp and made h/t subs to win away vs HON. He’s 27-6-5 since taking over 3 yrs ago.

I postulated earlier that his biggest problem as a coach is over thinking things.  Which as a national team coach is a bad trait to have since you have nothing but time on your hands.

Outside of the Canada game, when he has been forced to use his instincts as a coach and make subs, change tactics etc, they have been effective.  We just need him to not have to make subs to fix his original mistakes, but to add to a hopefully good start by the starters.

Hoppe subbed in at 60' for his first Mallorca appearance. ESPN commentary shows his as pretty active. Looks like it's finishing 0-0.

Anybody watch?

Maybe some one in MLS will hire him back in the role he excelled at, which was running the academy

Might be the most difficult player in our pool to speculate on.  I have no idea if he is going to be complete dog crap one game, or useful the next.  

I am starting to lean towards that we may have hoped for too much from him.    Hopefully some of this is just youth but he seems to be a really low effort type of player.   Almost the complete opposite of watching Scally play, who may not have Dest's feet but seems to have it over him in every other department.

Being a some times starter for a pretty meh looking Barcelona does not have the cache it once had.

honestly I'm not sure if he was told to not push too high (even against a team defending with 11 in their defensive third) or not to go at guys. He just kind of sauntered slowly around on the left side waiting for the ball and then either passing back or square on the second touch, or hitting decent but hopeful balls into the box to nobody in particular (this seemed to be Barca's M.O. on the day).

They were able to attack down the flanks- and I kept waiting for him to get into better positions in the box when the ball came easily down the opposite right side. Too many times, the first or second ball from the cross would land in a place that he very clearly should have been attacking but just seemed to be hanging back outside the box waiting for the reset.. or something.
