US Men's National Team (12 Viewers)

Scally is playing right midfield in a 3-4-2-1 today.   He looks really versatile.

When an 18 year old breaks into a top 5 league team, you hope for 800-1200 minutes across all competitions as a solid entry season.

By half time today, Scally has already played 585 minutes and it is still September!!  6 games at the full 90 and 45 so far today.

I've been watching on my phone... didn't realize that was him- gorgeous pass.

the whole team has looked different today, with Dest along as well. They look like they care- pressing hard and high, getting numbers around the ball all over the field. Dest specifically is now making that late charging run in support and pushing hard to maintain team shape where he looked completely disinterested last week. Also like how he's going at players this game instead of just launching hopeful crosses in.

He fits in much better at left back for Barcelona IMO
what happened to Barca today? so far, it's like the Barca of old- working their collective asses off and getting numbers around the ball everywhere on the field and on both sides of the ball, and then moving the ball quickly. this season seems like they've been sleep walking up until this half.

The cheap answer would be that Koeman is suspended, but I think it is more about Levante being really poor. Pretty horrid marking on of De Jong that Dest assist.

Levante haven't been good.

But it's the energy and dedication from Barca that seems like the old days and not what they've shown this season.

oh my.  This is the group behind Adams, Weston, and Pulisic so this all but obliterates my fear of whether it could continue.

This is obviously bolstered by the surprises of Busio and Scally but still, wow.

Andre Zanotta told us last week:

-Hopes Pepi stays w@FCDallas through '26 World Cup, but knows that's a high hurdle

-Feeling good about retaining Pepi through winter window, but knows good summer '22 offers incoming

-No formal offer yet received

-One BIG club was in VAN Sat

It's been reported that a "big club" was in Vancouver on Saturday to watch Ricardo Pepi.  I can confirm that club was Ajax and that they met with the player's representatives #USMNT #DTID #Ajax

I know they're "big"... and they seem awfully good at developing talent. but at this point, Eredivisie seems like a small league. Might be a nice spot for him to continue building goal-scoring acumen. I just feel snake-bit after Jozy.

Ajax does give him a high chances of being in the Champions League which could raise his profile and then he could make a bigger move in a few years when he is 21.  I like it in the way that I like what Aaronson is doing.

It is not perfect but it is a step in the right direction I think as an 18 year old.

Frankly that's one of the two places I'd want him to end up (Dortmund being the other).  Effectively he needs coaching and reps in front of goal and those are two of the handful of places that you know will give an 18-19 year old close to carte blanche.
