I know he's among the least in the history of US keepers but he'll always be a favorite of mine.Ok. Operation somebody besides Turner about to be needed
brazils shape is a mess, tbh
I also have no complaints about the offensive half. Once they get over the half, they are creating decent chances. They've attacked well... brazils shape is a mess, tbh. So much room on the weak side flank.
Seeing a 5-1 scoreline probably did not help their mentalitybrazils shape is a mess, tbh
Seems like that is fairly normal for Brazil - perhaps only against lower level competition - where they figure individual moments will win matches, rather than the collective.
Great two way game for him so farMeant to mention this earlier - but Weah has played well tonight.
Gio and weston have disappeared again. Perhaps it's because Brazil is packing the middle but that's 2 games in a row so far that they haven't really had any impact.
Slonina is 20. I think he has a chance to make the squad but I don't think there will be enough games for him to unseat Turner unless injuries occur. How old is that keeper who used to be at Chicago? Any chance he will be ready in 2026?
He's never played as a lone pivot. He has paired with Jaao Paulo in midfield but this year he's played quite a bit as an attacker. Not something that we've seen of him previously but he's lined up as a winger a lot.I thought he was a pure 6 Adams reolacement... Was I wrong? Are those other guys 6s?I dunno. He's probably the 3rd or 4th best center mid in his year for us. Cremaschi and Buck clearly ahead of him. Debatable on Tsakiris or Raines. We can only hope he does not break the trend of players who chose Mexico and saw their international prospects dry up.So the "want to focus on club" was bs then
As just a DM, the class behind him has Soma. In front of him Pukstas. He could very well turn out and never really be a USMNT player.
Theres the other young Chicago GK too.. starts with a B?Slonina is 20. I think he has a chance to make the squad but I don't think there won't be enough games for him to unseat Turner unless injuries occur. How old is that keeper who used to be at Chicago? Any chance he will be ready in 2026?
It is going to be interesting to think winning our group will be important so that we can draw Brazil in the quarters.I’m sure the narrative will be that this is an improvement, but this Brazil team just isn’t nearly as good as Colombia is right now. I’d fully expect Colombia to have the better Copa.
I'm not sure he's next in line honestly. I think Schulte is ahead of him on the Olympic squad.Slonina is 20. Colombias shape was so good throughout, but the US was much worse on the ball than...ever. so for me, big edge to COLs shape, defending and clarity of approach with a nod to just how awful the US was...because when they didn't flub the ball away, the options were there to attack.I’m sure the narrative will be that this is an improvement, but this Brazil team just isn’t nearly as good as Colombia is right now. Colombia's energy on the press was higher than Brazil's. Maybe this heat has helped the US in this game.Colombias shape was so good throughout, but the US was much worse on the ball than...ever. so for me, big edge to COLs shape, defending and clarity of approach with a nod to just how awful the US was...because when they didn't flub the ball away, the options were there to attack.I’m sure the narrative will be that this is an improvement, but this Brazil team just isn’t nearly as good as Colombia is right now. For sure. Brazil's press has been selective, seemingly triggered by Ream standing on the ball. COL just attacked the hell out of the back line relentlessly.Colombia's energy on the press was higher than Brazil's. I mean. No doubt. The US were a mess. But Colombia looked like a team with high cohesion who knew just how their coach wanted them to play. I get none of that from Brazil. They just want their stars to make something happen. They’re not moving the ball with purpose. And I get it. New coach. But they look far, far less than the sum of their parts to me.Colombias shape was so good throughout, but the US was much worse on the ball than...ever. so for me, big edge to COLs shape, defending and clarity of approach with a nod to just how awful the US was...because when they didn't flub the ball away, the options were there to attack.I’m sure the narrative will be that this is an improvement, but this Brazil team just isn’t nearly as good as Colombia is right now. I did not even know you could reverse a free kick?
