GK Diego Kochen (2006) made his professional debut today for Barca B. Game ended 1-1.
Weah got hurt last week, hamstring injury just before he scored and was subbed out at half time.Timmy and Swag at 3pm today.
I assume Timmy continues to start up top. I hope Swag gets off the bench... What a disaster this off-season has been for him.
Ldlt also at 3... I think somebody here said he wasn't part of their plans this year, so I'm hoping he gets shipped this week.
Good info... Happy to not feel compelled to watch live, at least until if/when swag subs in.Weah not in the squad, McKennie on the bench.
just checked... Juve up 3-0 in the 70th.Good info... Happy to not feel compelled to watch live, at least until if/when swag subs in.Weah not in the squad, McKennie on the bench.
Watching Milan over the weekend about did me in. Woof.
Yup. He's riding pineI think that's it, right? 3 sub windows with up to 5 subs allowed?
Christiano Ronaldo Jr. was born in the US..........posting not because they are US eligible, but more out of interest in case the families stay in the US long term

Thiago Messi and Benjamin Suarez are officially in MLS Next. They are expected to compete in the U13 division, and are officially now apart of the MLS system

That is MLS Next Pro. There is no age limit but I think most of the players are 17-19 years old. What age group was that?I mean I really hate putting all my eggs in such a small basket, but my god does Cavan make it hard not to project how good he could be.

Stunning goal regardless.
So play the manRe: Gio...
“He has to accept his role and free himself from it,” Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl said in an interview with Bild. It was clear when we held the talks in the summer that Gio wanted to take on this role. That there would be enough games where we would need him. We know that he has incredible skills.”
“Gio could become very important for us this season. There are no other thoughts. There’s nothing on the table and I haven’t heard that the player wants to leave. He worked on himself, worked on his stability, worked on his confidence. His clever movement between the lines and his goal threat, he’s developed that further.”

The Barnsley match with Gaga Slonina has finished, he had a rating of 8.5, including 4 saves. Barnsley 1 - 0 Sheffield United
Outside of maybe Gio reaching his potential (which seems more and more a lost cause), there is probably no player we need more to pop in the next two years than Gaga.Slonina is on a tear. He was awarded the Carabao Cup player of the first round and had another great performance today against Sheffield United in the second round.

Lots of good tweets from the https://x.com/BarnsleyFC account on his heroics today -The Barnsley match with Gaga Slonina has finished, he had a rating of 8.5, including 4 saves. Barnsley 1 - 0 Sheffield United

96' Gaga Slonina rises excellently to collect a long ball from the halfway line by Auston Trusty.
@BarnsleyFC
80' Gaga steps up, displaying outstanding reflexes to tip Campbell's close-range effort onto the post. 1-0
Or one of the young GKs, and he seems like the most likely candidate.there is probably no player we need more to pop in the next two years than Gaga
And let's be honest... turner hasn't exactly locked down the spot over the last year plus. So there's no real controversy in making the switch.Or one of the young GKs, and he seems like the most likely candidate.there is probably no player we need more to pop in the next two years than Gaga
Would not be at all shocked if Poch were to dip down into the younger keepers and make Turner the backup. Not predicting it, just saying starting young GKs has been done many times with top keepers and I think he's got the juice to do it in a way an American manager might not have.
He's the best!haven't been paying attention....
do we like the new coach?

He's the worst!
HE HASN'T STARTED REYNA ONCE!!!1!1!He's the worst!
Rumor I saw was that Trustys move was dependent and contingent on CcV leaving for a bigger team... Although the teams I saw listed weren't so hot (turkey, France, etc). There is a rumor that Trusty may be sold to Celtic. if so that could set up a possibility of Trusty and CCV starting together as CB's.

Disagree on both of these.Haven't really heard much lately about Maloney or Lund... 2 guys id like to see more of.
Not sure what you're disagreeing about.Disagree on both of these.Haven't really heard much lately about Maloney or Lund... 2 guys id like to see more of.
Lund has had a lot of call-ups vs other guys (Jones, Tolkin, Wiley). Given the charge of Payton Miller, I'm not sure any of them matter, but I'd like to see Tolkin given a chance rather than any more of Lund for now.
On Maloney, I'd rather see Tessmann, Pukstas, and Morris, all of whom are more likely to become starters over time. Maloney may well be better than any of them today, and maybe he works at CB, but he's got no realistic path to being a starter in the midfield ever.
I may be wrong but I don't think Tolkin ever had a call-up under Berhalter outside of January camp. I think the same may be true for Jones and Wiley. I believe Lund was called up to every camp after Berhalter's rehire (but Robinson played so much it's hard to remember).I'd like to see more of them. I've liked what I've seen of Lund, regardless of Tolkin. Didn't realize Lund has had more call-ups than those guys... Doesn't seem like it to me, but I don't pay attention to stats like that.
If he continues playing like that.... gotta be in the conversation. Although if Pulisic continues his run in Serie A.... It could be a dogfight between the two..... which God I hope it is.I just shake my head saying it, as I never could have imagine uttering these words three years ago, but are we looking at the best US player "ever" at the club level at this point?
On the surface, Pulisic is a better player IMO, but when you factor in the position of the players, I could make a good argument that over the past season+ that Jedi is much closer to the best LB in the EPL than Pulisic is to the best 10/winger in Serie A.If he continues playing like that.... gotta be in the conversation. He may have an argument by the time he's done. I think it's already between him and CP. Hopefully both of them play at a top level for another 6-8 years and it's a hard conversation.I just shake my head saying it, as I never could have imagine uttering these words three years ago, but are we looking at the best US player "ever" at the club level at this point?
This is very good news for a CB of that age

Sources: Bournemouth make formal bid to D.C. United for USYNT center back Matai Akinmboni.
Bid below D.C.'s valuation. Window closes tomorrow night, so time for more talks.
Akinmboni, 17, already has 17 first team apps with D.C. Highly-rated talent

Kristian Fletcher is undergoing his medical today ahead of a move to Nottingham Forest, I'm told
Maybe... Serie A was the toughest league in the world last year according to UEFA coefficient. EPL was third. Yes, I agree they keep getting better due to money, but I also think they give up on guys too early too because they can just buy the next $100M 22 year old winger. I also think, due to money, the depth of quality in the EPL is higher than Serie A making what Jedi has accomplished even more impressive.
Both born and raised in the US.This is very good news for a CB of that age

I don't know either of these guys.
Are they set up in the US system?

Also... while the Serie A has some of the best wingers in the world in their league I don't know if I'd count the EPL's LBs amongst the world's best. How many EPL LBs are in your world top 10? Maybe Gvardiol(if he is a LB)... Maybe Robertson? No one else IMO. Jedi benefits from a relative lack of talent at that position when he's making these lists IMO.... and that's not to say he's not been playing spectacularly. Just a counterpoint to the claim of Jedi being closer to the best LB in the EPL than Pulisic is to the best winger in Serie A.
Anyway, I'm just glad to be having a discussion about it. I hope there's still a real discussion/argument about who's better for years to come.
I was looking at the latest US U17 roster and noticed a Chance Cowell from San Jose. I assume that must be Cade's brother.
Everything I was seeing was that Forrest didn't want a loan- only a sale.Turner is moving to Crystal Palace on loan. It will still be a back up role though.
