Value Picks at Each Round (1 Viewer)

Pretty simple, really....who do you guys think are the real value picks at each round? These are guys who you are targetting, hoping they fall, or just think they represent great value even if they don't fall.

Some of this depends on where you draft and what your league rules are...but assuming 6 pts for all TDs, no PPR, 12 team league.

Here are mine...

1st Rd: Tough round to have "value"...but I'd say if you're picking late and any of the top 4-5 RBs fall you're getting a great value. If Randy Moss or Tom Brady are there beyond the 8th pick they're represent great value.

2nd Rd: R. Moss, Manning, MJD, LJ

3rd Rd: Romo, Brees, Wayne, TO, Edwards, J. Lewis

4th Rd: Thomas Jones, S. Holmes, Cal Johnson

5th Rd: Palmer, Big Ben, Cotchery, Marhall

6th Rd: Gates, Winslow, Witten, Gonzo,

7th Rd: Burleson, Galloway, McNabb, Hasselbach

8th Rd: Ray Rice, Felix Jones, Crayton

9th Rd: Matt Schaub, Eli Manning, Shockey

 except for this round...Romo, Brees, Wayne, TO, Edwards, J. Lewis - do you really ever see TO/Wayne/Edwards falling to the 3rd round.. if so that would be one hell of a steal. Good post though..

There is so much opinion out there right now that I feel I have to ask this question - If Brady and Moss are both there at the turn, do you take both? It seems like a dumb question but is it? Is it really?

It comes down to your own projections. If you feel that they will approach last year's numbers, then they are worth a first round selection. If you think they will not approach those numbers, they do not represent good value this year. Personally, I would not take either in the first round, because I don't think they will come close to the value that they were last year.

Not necessarily. It also comes down to your starting lineup requirements. In a start 2 qb & start 4 wr you'd be a fool not to draft either in the first round.

in 12 team mocks from the 6 and 7 slot, value I've been seeing is:

Edge in the 5th

R White in the 6th

Fred Taylor in the 7th

Cutler in the 8th

Mason in the 9th

Norwood in the 9th or 10th

I guess Ricky Williams in the 6th or 7th round has some feeling of value at this point.

McNabb and Edgerrin James seem like a value picks this year. Berrian can be drafted late, It seems like many of the upside time sharing running backs can be had in the middle to late rounds.

I have completed two real drafts this weekend (not mock - for money) and I've seen the following in both drafts (12 teams):

Boldin - slipped to the end of the 4th/early 5th

Vince Young was the 20th/22 QB taken

Calvin is going before Roy

Graham went at the #22RB in both drafts

Cotchery is moving up fast, no value

Once the first TE, Witten went then K2, Gates and Gonzalez went very quickly.

Kevin Smith went in rd 5 of both rounds. The word is out on him.

14 team league (mock values)

3rd - Calvin (early vs. ADP, but I think he'll even out perform 3rd round cost), Turner (over that tier IMO)

4th - B Marshall (slipping a round b/c of the 2 games off) or Cotchery

5th - Roddy, Selvin, Bowe

7th - Cutler (might have to use a 6th if you really want him)

8th - Mason, Ricky, Chris Johnson (seems lower lately)

9th - MEACHAM WR NO (it may take a few games, but I think he's ready for a Bowe like year 1k and 7 tds) possible SOD candidate IMO

10th / 11th - C. Perry and Owen Daniels (pass on the mid TE run in the 5/6th and wait for the value)

TE sleeper backups Boss, Keller and Ben Utecht CIN 13th on

Brandon Jacobs is going later than he should IMO...seeing a lot of mocks with him going in the 4th...slid to the 5th round in my 10-teamer.

There are going to be plenty of value picks but they will vary based off your league type, starter lineups requirements and the draft strategy of your other players in the league. In my league Jacobs went first pick 3rd round and McFadden went 12th pick 2nd round 12 team draft to the same owner. I was not anticipating McFadden going in the 2nd but the owner's projections are different than mine.

My draft was over the weekend and the potential value plays were Brandon Marshall 20th receiver taken 6th round and Steve Smith 15th WR 4th round. This may be a gamble to some, or value depending on how the rest of the teams are setup. This is a total points league I guess I will see how everything plays out at the end of the season.
