I'd be shocked if they didn't postpone it. The mere fact that they admit they are discussing it shows that they are looking for alternatives. This game will be postponed, guaranteed.I'd be shocked if they did. Sunday night football, in the snow, Michael Vick = great TV ratings.
I diagree, I don't think they should postpone. It is the elements, it was bad in Minny last week yet they had that game.I'd be shocked if they didn't postpone it. The mere fact that they admit they are discussing it shows that they are looking for alternatives. This game will be postponed, guaranteed.I'd be shocked if they did. I agree. I don't think they should postpone it..........but the fact they're discussing it and we even know that means to me they probably will postpone it, now it's where will the game be held and when.I'd be shocked if they didn't postpone it. The mere fact that they admit they are discussing it shows that they are looking for alternatives. This game will be postponed, guaranteed.I'd be shocked if they did. I hope like hell there is a 2 foot blizzard in NY the day of the Super Bowl there
You would think so, but not true for me. I have Vick in WCOFF main event playoffs and in NFFC online playoffs, but I didn't think the game would be postponed.Ha Ha . You can really tell who is facing Vick in week 16 by reading this thread.
Nutter is a jackass though.Mayor of Philly has declared a Snow Emergency starting at 2 o'clock per Schefter on twitter @AdamSchefter Adam Schefter Philly Mayor Michael Nutter has announced that his city is declaring a snow emergency as of 2 pm today. He's urging residents to stay home.
NFL Network is saying the game is still on (at this point) and they're asking the people of Philly to use mass transportation to get to the game.Ha Ha . You can really tell who is facing Vick in week 16 by reading this thread.
Ok so they stay home, no need to not play the game. There is no reason not to play this game!!Mayor of Philly has declared a Snow Emergency starting at 2 o'clock per Schefter on twitter @AdamSchefter Adam Schefter Philly Mayor Michael Nutter has announced that his city is declaring a snow emergency as of 2 pm today. Yes he is. I don't think they should, but I am sure they will.I diagree, I don't think they should postpone. I don't see them moving the game somewhere else.... Would just be to avoid the height of the storm....
You tell em, Fire the Fat Man! Darn the safety and lives of thousands! A sporting event is way more important!!!!!!Ok so they stay home, no need to not play the game. They share one?I bet Vince Lombardi and Tom Landry are rolling over in their grave.
There's a bunch of people already there.I don't know if some of you are serious, but there is a difference betwwen a snow EMERGENCY and just a lot of snow. When people drive in a snow emergency, they are risking their lives and/or well being. They are also risking the lives of emergency personel and city workers who are out trying to deal with the snow. If the pregame (65000 people trying to get to the stadium)is coninciding with the height of a major snowstorm, that is extremely unsafe!!!If the timing is right, the game will be cancelled tonight. There is no doubt. It would be different if the game started at 12 and it started to snow during the game, but it is looking like that is not the case.
damn straightwtf is this league coming to. they would never do this in the past
Then they stay home or take public transportation to the game. They have the train run right up to the stadium. The city had 4 major storms last year, and at least 1 every winter. they know how to clean the roads. This all has to do with the Eagles potentially losing money bc the stadium would be half full. They played in this weather for years in the NFL. How about the AFC championship game with the Pats and Raiders??You tell em, Fire the Fat Man! Darn the safety and lives of thousands! A sporting event is way more important!!!!!!Ok so they stay home, no need to not play the game. It is kind of strange for them to declare it this early, but it's pretty obvious there's going to be a lot of snow headed their way. Nothing wrong with be cautious in the least. Are people that are asked to evacuate because of a hurricane headed their way pansies as well? They should have just announced yesterday the game was bumped up to the 1pm slot to avoid the brunt of the storm and moved another game somewhere else to Sunday night timeslot.Oh well, now its a cluster####.Cant believe Philly is declaring a snow emergency for a storm that hasnt happened yet. Pansies.
I totally agree. If they were so concerned, why wasn't this game bumped to 1 PM??They should have just announced yesterday the game was bumped up to the 1pm slot to avoid the brunt of the storm and moved another game somewhere else to Sunday night timeslot.Oh well, now its a cluster####.Cant believe Philly is declaring a snow emergency for a storm that hasnt happened yet. They could have done that as well. What time is the blunt of the storm supposed to roll through though?I totally agree. I think a hurricane is a little different than a snow storm. If there's really going to be 20 inches of snow, then yes I would cancel the game. But I'm so tired of these weather services calling for all of these storms and then half of it doesn't come. They do this for ratings. They just called for 3 to 5 inches of snow where I live and it hardly freaken snowed. You hear about this storm for 2 days and I saw a couple of flakes. They better be damn sure a huge storm that's going to lock the people in their houses to not play this game.It is kind of strange for them to declare it this early, but it's pretty obvious there's going to be a lot of snow headed their way. Nothing wrong with be cautious in the least. Supposedly late afternoon. They could have done that as well. What time is the blunt of the storm supposed to roll through though?I totally agree. Yep, and I hear Landry is on his stomach. They share one?I bet Vince Lombardi and Tom Landry are rolling over in their grave.
See, this guy understands. You tell em... Darn the safety and lives of thousands! A sporting event is way more important!!!!!!
Freudian slip? They could have done that as well. What time is the blunt of the storm supposed to roll through though?I totally agree. Wow that sucks. I hope we get the let's cancel the game card thrown out there all the time now.Rotoworld reporting the game has been postponed until Tuesday.
Here's why they should've used flex scheduling and moved Vick and the Iggles to 4:00 and moved the Pack-Giants to 8:00No Sunday night football ?
It is supposed to stop snowing at 1PM. EDIT: I think this is inaccurate. This is just another case of the pu$$ification of America. Pathetic!I don't see them moving the game somewhere else.... Would just be to avoid the height of the storm....
Tuesday, and then the Eagles get a really short week to prepare for next week? That doesn't seem fair from a competitive standpoint.Wow that sucks. I hope we get the let's cancel the game card thrown out there all the time now.Rotoworld reporting the game has been postponed until Tuesday.
Hurricane damage and blizzard damage are not nearly comparable.People go out with their families playing in the snow during blizzards, its just mostly driving conditions that are the issue. Hurricanes often cause millions of dollars in damage and are a much higher risk for loss of life through various accidents.I have lived here long enough to have seen on more than one occasion a large predicted snow storm amount to practically nothing. Either it ends yp being "wintry mix", or rain, or we just get an inch instead of 12+ because of shifting winds. Its shocking to me they are declaring a snow emergency before 1 single snow flake has fallen in the city. I guess that 70 inches we got last year has people fearing the worst.Grady Wilson said:It is kind of strange for them to declare it this early, but it's pretty obvious there's going to be a lot of snow headed their way. That is very different.I think it is time to find a new fall/winter passtime. This is not your fathers NFL.I will not watch on Tuesday.Vikings-Eagles game likely to get postponed NFL Network's Rich Eisen is reporting that Sunday night's Eagles - Vikings game will likely not be played at it's scheduled (8:30 ET) time.
