*WAIVER WIRE PICK-UPS AFTER WEEK 2* (1 Viewer)

Oh, my bad. I meant that Trubisky was 1.

You were right, is what I was saying, but it was muddled with caveats.

My bad. You were right.
Not saying the guy was hailed as an Andrew Luck type prospect.  It was a weak QB class.  And yes the trade up 1 spot was weird.  But you can't fault a QB-needy team to take the top QB in the draft when they had the chance to.  He looks awful but not everything can be predicted... lots of clear #1 QB's end up busting.

I haven't really argued with you about that with any passion. I've noted your position, and it makes sense. It's the fan in us that likely plays the "What if?" I know I do with Jamal Adams, who was a consensus top-five guy, and Mahomes, who wasn't.

deeper leagues might want to look into Ty Johnson - Lions.  With CJ Anderson getting cut, Ty is now the clear number two, and I don't necessarily see KJ getting more than  70% of the carries...probably less.

  I have last priority on waivers this week since I'm the top team in the league. Didn't thing the Ben or Cam owners would let anyone drop to me. Dalton is servicable enough, I gave up Chris Thompson.
Makes sense to me (unless you have all the RB injuries I do and really need Thompson). I was able to get Dalton on the wire and think he's a tier above the wire options you had.

I own Tyreek and just lost Gallup as well.

Metcalf and Hardman and Robinson all available and I think I’m trying to get them in that order. As a longer term play for me I think Metcalf May hold more value for roster depth and seems to be emerging as the big body #1
Ended up with Metcalf AND Hardman while dropping my kicker.

So now the decision becomes a who do I drop decision before the weekend. Running back flier or WR depth.

With how my WR are panning out (Tyreek and Gallup) I’m thinking RB lotto ticket probably gets the axe.

It was well advertised at the time.  He was all the talk.  If you search 20 mocks and 20 qb rankings, he's #1 in almost every one.  He was the top QB.  Hindsight is easy.
Simply not true, there was a lot of varying opinions on the QB class, which is one of the main reasons why the trade was criticized. They gave up a ton to move up 1 spot to get a specific QB when there wasn't a clear cut #1 prospect who was head and shoulders above the rest.

In any event, you wrote "almost every GM had him as their #1 ranked QB". Obviously there's no way of knowing that.

Josh Allen was Qb1 overall last year from. Week 12 on.

He should not be available in any league IMO
Agreed. I'm not completely sold on him still, but no reason to be on the WW even before all of these QB injuries.

I gave up even though it seems more muddled than Daemon makes it. Best to stick with waiver wire discussion, IMO.

Scanned the thread and didn't see James Washington mentioned

He and Rudolph have great chemistry and it sounds like he may be getting more playing time going forward at Moncrief's expense

I picked him up in both of my redraft leagues

Tomlin actually called a likely increase in playing time an "unintended consquence" of Rudolph starting. Seems to have quite a bit of potential with him.

Good call on Washington; he could definitely be one of those guys to pick up now who has the potential to be the next hot WW add.

Also, FWIW, my waivers ran last night here's how things went down:

  • Bid $14 (of $200) on Mostert - Won (dropped Pollard)
  • Bid $14 on both Hardman & Robinson, but Mostert had my higher priority as I already have Sammy Watkins - Robinson went for $10, Hardman went for $5
  • Gore went for $30 (Gio dropped)
  • Daniel Jones went for $12 (Brees dropped)

Other league that doesn't do FAAB had a bunch of waiver adds as well (12-team short bench):

  • John Ross added - Corey Davis dropped
  • Garoppolo added - Brees dropped
  • Mostert added - Mattison dropped
  • Robinson added - MVS dropped
  • Chark added - Dion Lewis dropped
  • Olsen added - Hooper dropped
  • Witten added - OJ Howard dropped
  • Penny added - Gio Dropped

While the shorter bench league might not be as relevant to most, I figured i'd include for context in case others are in a similar set up/ their waivers don't run until tonight.

Good luck all

I gotta believe Ju-Ju will see more targets and production. Mason locked in on Vance McDonald so I want to see more samples before I make any judgements. It's a lot to ask a rookie to carry decent numbers for all the receivers, TEs and RBs, not sure Washington will be a good start in FF. He could catch 2/50 though and stretch the field once in a while but I don't see Washington as a great move right now.

Then again, you might just be a week or two ahead of the curve, good luck chief.

Somebody in one of my fbg-ffpc leagues dropped Darwin Thompson last week. Probably gonna bid 15-20%.

Metcalf went unclaimed on my league...I debated about him but I would have to drop Fitzgerald or John Brown so I decided to sit tight.

All the new QBs are gone but guys like Keenum and Brissett are still available...I guess the devil that you know it's not as attractive.

I had Big Ben and went Brissett over the new guys. Keenum's schedule is really friendly and worth a look. Also added D. Jones as a backup (I was flying solo.)

DK Metcalf vs Fitz and John Brown?

-I've owned Brown many times, I like the upside of Metcalf even as a rookie, even on a traditional run 1st type team, the guy has talent and he does something unique in that offense. He is a much needed injection into the vertical threat part of the offense where Wilson is starting to show new pages in his playbook. Just my opinion, I was mad at myself missing out on him but I also didn't have room.

Is Metcalf better than Josh Gordon simply in terms of production? When I see Metcalf ranked 30th overall at WR after 2 weeks, scanning from 30 up to 20 I see names like Moore, Dorsett, Conley, Crowder, DJax, Gallup...some of this is injury but who is better to own on a roster around his ranking and I believe he is going to shoot up past most of those guys this year, he has the potential to be a top 25 WR, that's hard to find.

John Brown will make you pull your hair out as the season rolls on, he always does. Trade him to another owner and then go pick up Metcalf.

Id rather have John Brown than Metcalf. He is the PERFECT WR for Josh Allen. Faces CINCY this week, MIAMI two times. Dude is gonna ball if he stays healthy.

Howard owner and I picked up Will Dissly for 7%. Last year Dissley had some big games before he got hurt. He had a good game last week.

Brees owner too and I picked up Keenum for 5%.  While I don't like Keenum it seems like WA is going to have to pass a lot and he can be effective in good matchups.  I like the matchups in week 4 vs NYG and week 6 vs Dolphins. Playoff schedule is pretty good too with home games vs Giants and Eagles.

Other moves by other owners:

Ty Johnson went for 20%

Devin Smith for 27%

Jeffrey Wilson 45%

Samuel WR Carolina or Samuel WR SF?

Curtis is like the 4th option on that team any given week.  Plus the offense is not great right now.

Again, one of those is from Feb and April is when he really separated himself.  I guess you can cherry pick and find a couple articles out there, but to try to spin that as "it was a toss up" simply isn't true.  I'm making this number up, but probably 90% of analysts and mock drafts and draft rankings you can find from last April had Mitch at the top.  "A lot of varying opinions" is also quite the loaded statement.... its was pretty clear Mitch was the guy heading into the draft.

But anyways, no need to hijack this thread more than it already has been.

wow those seem high.

Strangely, I was the only one active on the waiver wire this week. Dropped Pettis for D. Robinson and dropped CJA for Mostert. Not bad for being in the last position.

I'm keeping an eye on Justice Hill as a lotto ticket, so Mostert is just flex depth at the moment.

Dak

Goff

Lamar

All three moved the needle when the organization brought in someone who could work with the true talent of their QB. I’m not ready to write off Trubisky. I hope someone realize it’s the coaches and make the necessary changes before he’s damaged goods.

Tex

Ridiculously so

45% for a fourth stringer that might get a handful of goal line carries is obscene
I thought so too but it is a dynasty league and the waiver wire is pretty thread bare and if you think a player has a chance to be good now and in the future you sometimes have to strike with a lot of cash.

I felt pretty good getting Tissley for $7 and Keenum for $5.

Dont worry about Trubisky, he will be just fine...
In my main 16-team keeper league I have Mahomes.  And Jones is my only back up and I would not trade him for Trubisky.  He's propped up by Nagy, so Mitchs points could still be better for fantasy, but as the immortal and eloquent Flavor Flav said I just... Can't truss it. No, no, no, no.

Trubisky is trash.

D. Jones will blow up that Bucs secondary - Panthers had guys open all over the field, all game long, and Cam couldn't hit the ocean with a beach ball. giants don't lose this game. good pick up going forward.

John Ross is legit, as is McLaurin, Hyde, J. Washington in Pitt - Rudolph loves throwing to him - Mostert is here to stay, you'd be foolish to believe Brieda stays healthy, or that Coleman does anything special when he returns - he's a career backup, Ito Smith will take that starting gig as soon as this weekend b/c freeman looks like toast.

Randall Cobb

Here were some of the waivers from tonight...

-DRob went 1st, I posted "low hanging fruit" at the owner but I'm sure most owners had a bid in for him

-Randall Cobb and that seemed legit with the Gallup injury, I'm eyeballing the other guy Devin Smith...Miami match up looks so easy.

-Agholor went, I tried but he got snared right before me...price you pay for being atop the standings I guess 😘

-Deebo Samuel was my fall back and while I shy away from most rookie WRs, you would be blind to not see what SF is doing with him. I could see a true breakout game coming at some point so for a WR6 on my bench, I like the upside.

-Mostert went on the 2nd pass, was shocked all owners didn't jump on the first go thru. I simply didn't have room for him and wanted another WR.

NFFC 1000 FAAB

$580 Demarcus Robinson

$ 200 TY Johnson....I was runner up bid with 111. In the league where I am loaded I put in a low bid of 77 for him and got him with the runner up being 71.
