Weekly Waiver Wire Pick Ups - **CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK** Week 17 starts on Page 30 (1 Viewer)

Evan Engram anyone?

No Toney, no Shepard, no Rudolph, facing the worst defense vs TEs.
In Philly's defense, they faced Pitts, Kittle, Schultz, and Kelce the first 4 weeks of the year.  They actually shut down all except Schultz.  Most of the stats against them have come from combined performances, like week 9 vs LAC with Jared Cook (4 for 48), Stephen Anderson (4 for 39 with a TD), & Donald Parham (3 for 39 with a TD).  Still counts as 11 for 126 and 2 TD's, but I doubt too many started Anderson or Parham over Cook.

The good thing for Engram is there are no other healthy TE's on the Giants besides some guy named Chris Myarick, who has 1 career target (but he almost caught it).

By most accounts, Breida missed an assignment on a screen pass and was benched for over a quarter. If true, not sure how that affects things going forward.
It was a screen designed to go left, and Breida went right.  That ended up being a TD pass that was called back due to ineligible player down field, since the linemen were on the left side heading upfield to block for the RB that wasn't there.  Next play Allen threw a pick to end that drive.

Breida did get a screen to the left late in the game, that he did some nifty running on to score a TD.

I'd say this is a 2-back committee with Breida and Singletary, and I don't have a favorite among those two.  Both showed some impressive running yesterday, and both looked better than Moss has for a while.  Of course if either Breida or Singletary stumbles at all, then Moss can work back into the top two spot.  But the Bills are also pass-first and Josh Allen is always a threat to vulture short TDs himself, so unlikely any Bill RB will finish in the top 10 any week this season.

Agreed. It will take two RB injuries for a Bills RB to have weekly fantasy relevance. Even then a PS RB probably gets enough volume to cap the RB 1.

It worked for an emergency start!
That's absolutely the value of Buffalo RBs. Zack Moss was a decent start for me in week 4.

But I think we were all hoping that one of them would emerge to some sort of consistent fantasy relevance at some point this season.

Dez Fitzpatrick.....4th round pick who got cut because he was lazy....resigned with the practice squad.  Came in last week when AJ Brown went out (who is now on IR)  caught 3 passes and a TD......  not often you have a shot at a number 1 wr this late in the year.  Not saying it will happen but there is certainly a chance that it does.

Obviously, with the news that McCaffrey is out for the season, Chuba becomes a priority pickup. But temper your expectations a little. The Carolina offense is a mess, Chuba didn't really impress earlier this season when he had the chance, and their ROS schedule is brutal:

  • Bye
  • Atlanta (the one gimme)
  • @Buffalo
  • TB
  • @NO
And if your league plays to Week 18, they get Tampa again!

Plus I think that Abdullah may share time, especially in the passing game which has been such a cheat code for CMC.

Yeah...3 possible pickups out there now for leagues with shorter benches where these guys have been dropped due to other injuries and bye weeks.

Alexander Mattison

Chuba Hubbard

Jamaal Williams

Mattison with the most short term value as he plugs in well when Cook is out.  Better team around him than the others.

Not sure I am even trying for Jamaal in the one league he is available or Hubbard.

Yes, good point. I think we sometimes fall into the trap of analyzing fantasy production independent of IRL football situation. Chuba was less than impressive during his earlier tryout and the Panthers didn't do very well during that stretch (not that it was all, or even mostly, his fault). So it makes sense that they would give other RBs more touches.

He could still well be a useful fill-in if you're hurting at RB. I just don't see him as a league winner a la Tim Hightower (then again, no one saw Tim Hightower as a league winner before he did it).

What don't you like about Williams? Dump offs galore. He's a lock for double digits points in half ppr.

Can't speak for sho nuff, but I think most of Swift's production has come from his talent rather than his situation. I think Williams is a decent pickup, but he's still a journeyman back playing for a God-awful offense. Maybe that means he'll get lots of garbage-time dump-offs, or maybe it just means he'll put up a bunch of 10/38/0 with 2/8/0 in the passing game.

One league...I actually will make a play for him.  The league I have swift.  The other...(standard league).  Just not sure I see him mking my lineup over Pollard, Aaron Jones, Eli Mitchell, Javonte or Barkley.  So more of a...just not a need.  Mattison absolutely I will try...but doubtful I get him.

That's similar to how I feel. The league where Mattison and Williams are available is non-PPR, start two RBs only (WR/TE flex). I have Kamara, Robinson and Mitchell, so any other RBs are for depth. I put in claims for Mattison and Williams partially in case they turn out to be league winners, partially as a hedge against any further injuries, partially to prevent anyone else from getting them. But I'm currently in 11th (out of 14) priority, so doubt I get either.

Taysom Hill looking like he'll get the start at home against DAL on TNF. Not a whole lot of positive talk his way. Perhaps more because of the way the Saints have looked and injuries to both RB's and no Thomas or bonafide stud WR. I may go after him as Hurts is on a bye in week 14 and Taysom does have QB 1 upside. I just don't think he'll be in high demand. Hurts has scored well fantasy wise, but last week was a disaster. With Taysom it's rushing yards and rushing TD's or bust. The other guys on the waiver wire are there for a reason.

I'm thinking the same thing with Hurts on bye next week. I am trying to claim him off WW for a low bid. I might even start him this week with Hurts playing the Jets, I could see the Eagles going run run run like a few weeks ago.

Early in the year BOTH  swift and Williams were playable....If Swift is out Williams is easily a #2 rb  (with rb 1 upside)  He is not just another journeyman  backup.

Foster Moreau, TE, LVR for anyone desperate this week with Waller possibly out.

Yeah, think this is a good call. Would think it fairly likely that you get at least a 4/40, 5/50 sort of stat line and as likely as not to score. Already had him in dynasty, picked him up in the one league where I don't have Kelce and can't see a situation where I don't flex him if Waller is out

Seems like this week was the "spend everything" week if you're a contender with cash, I'm one of four teams that have a bit of a gap to the rest, one fired everything on Jamaal Williams, another spending 25% combined on a premium D/ST and kicker, then another making their first spend this year with 5% on Minnesota D/ST, leaving me to just pick up Perine to insure Mixon for a dollar. In my other comparable league 3/4 top teams had already spent all budget right now and only a dollar was spent on switching streaming QBs and defences elsewhere

People in my league playing waiver wire chicken with this guy.  Waivers just ran, and he is still there.  Nobody wants him until news breaks that Henderson is actually out.
Just curious, what are the reasons you didn't pick him up? No room on the roster?

There's been very little reporting that I've seen regarding Henderson. I can see how Michel made it through waivers. You are obviously aware of Henderson's injury situation and passed on him as well so I'm just curious why.

I just picked him up.  Don't need him if Henderson sits; just playing keep away from other owners.  I have a sneaking suspicion Henderson gets ruled out sooner vs later.

He may or may not be out, but it seems like at a minimum he won't be practicing today. When that news breaks, I expect a lot more people will be looking to grab him. Better to jump ahead of the curve.

I picked up Sony Michel for a buck today.  The Henderson manager didn't bid on him, but did spend $147 on Dontrell Hilliard, who might or might not be awesome but is on a Bye this week regardless.

I was a previous Henderson manager in past years, and he did miss at least one game with a Quad injury if I recall, so this seems like an obvious pickup.  Plus I just lost CMC so definitely need help at RB.

In my main money league, desperate for WR help. What do people think of Devante Parker? He's notoriously difficult to trust, and Waddle seems to have emerged as Tua's preferred weapon, but if he is indeed back this week I may need to take a flier on him over Sanders/Toney.

Toney wasn't at practice today according to Sleeperbot.

Sanders runs so hot and cold you probably hurt yourself having him in your lineup just as much as you help (if not more).

Parker seems to get plenty of looks when he actually plays. My only concern is suddenly there are actually lot of mouths to feed in Miami with Waddle, Geisiki & Gaskin all drawing looks.

Still, I think the Dolphins are playing well, so is Tua and Parker is certainly worth a look.

If Toney can't play this week, I think it's time to drop him.

💯 I'm starting to think I need to drop him in order to avoid the temptation to start him.

Want to hear the worst part? With AJB on IR and DSmith and Bourne on bye next week, as of now Toney and Sanders are the only two startable WRs currently on my roster (in a 3WR lineup) for Week 14. And I don't want to start either of them! Not only that, Parker doesn't help in that respect, since he's on bye next week, too.

But seeing as how I'm fighting for a playoff spot, I can't afford to think a week ahead. If Parker plays this week, I'll probably stream his this week and hope I can live to fight another day. I'll deal with Week 14 when it comes
