Is it possible to record from Tivimate premium onto a micro SD or USB drive on an older version Fire TV?
Or is the Fire Tv box just too old? (2015 version)

Streaming Live TV works quite well but the only way I can get it to record is to the internal storage which is pointless since it only has 3GB available

You could as long as you could get the drive to work with the Fire TV (I don't think it does, but not sure.) I have the NVDIA shield pro on my main TV that I do my recording on. I have a usb drive connected to it and it works very well on that other that if/when I have a buffering issue, which isn't very often.

You set your favorite teams and it records all games but for shows it basically just has most if not all seasons and you just watch whenever. Once you watch a show, they list when there’s a new show to watch in your continue watching area. Even on the Firestick home, it will remember shows in different apps, probably depending on the app interface to the Firestick.

Ah for this question...you will get two answers depending on whether you're asking my wife or me.
I cut and went with Fubo. Mostly for the sports. I want my Tigers, Red Wings, and Fubo has bally sports. I'm fine with the change.
My wife however, doesn't like Fubo at ALL!!! She loved comcast and misses it. Lots and lots of on demand stuff, better setup, and Fubo can buffer a little too much.
Thankfully she was furious when we went to drop cable and not a single person seemed to care one iota. They were just like "oh well..buh bye" so her anger with them keeps Fubo and my sports in the house.

Slightly off-path here...but has anyone tried TMobile or Verizon's Internet service? I think they charge around $40/month. I've been thinking about giving that a shot because XFinity costs me now $106, but my main concern would be the quality/speed and not getting charges for streaming TV.

We switched to Verizon. And have no issues whatsoever. None. I think it was $35/month.

First of all, I am NOT a Fubo salesman so please. I'm answering from what I know.
Fubo has a good guide. Very similar to what you're used to with cable. You can favorite channels as well and put them on top so you see them first. No issue with the guide. What cable had(at least ours) that Fubo doesn't. Is when you selected a channel on the guide, without actually changing the channel, it would basically show you where in the show it was. Like a peek. Nice if you know a movie or whatever and know what;s coming up. Or if you wanted to check out a channel while a commercial was on, but wanted to avoid changing to another channel showing a commercial.

Have Hulu with fire stick and it doesn't work when trying to switch between Lions and Red zone, knocks me out of both and back to home screen

Not sure if it's rolled out to all platforms, but holding down the "ok" button should switch to last channel. I know it works on my roku TV as well as my standalone roku device.

Just a PSA - I bought a Chromecast 4k because I wanted Atmos streaming and it was the cheapest option.

It buffers way more than the Roku Stick+ ever did. I watch hockey on Hulu and the stuttering is enough where it's unwatchable. I will be returning it and likely getting a Roku Ultra.

Edit: Walmart has a Roku Ultra LT version that has nearly all the features and currently almost half the price. Ordered.

I have youtube tv and you can record unlimited amounts and it stays for a year. Way better than my direct tv dvr.

YTTV takes care of this for you. You can completely customize your guide.

• Set your exact order the channels display in - for example put all of the sports channels at the top of the guide, then all of the news channels, or however you want to do it
• You can also hide channels from guide entirely for ones you know you will never watch like shopping channels, foreign language channels, etc.

The only thing I miss about cable is having channel numbers you can punch in on the remote.. Having to scroll thru the guide to get to certain channels takes some getting used to.

Interesting. I’ve only had Hulu Live so far and the “library/DVR” is awesome on Hulu. I think because Hulu was or still is partially owned by Disney and other networks, they have tons of series where you can watch an ABC or Fox show from the beginning season. Some CBS and NBC as well although they have their own streaming so some stuff like every Survivor season may no longer be there. The current and past few are all there. What’s great is that you can have multiple profiles so it knows where I left off (which episode and how far into episode) with my shows compared with my wife even if we watch the same show. I also don’t have to “record” anything. When the new episode of a show I watch comes out, it’s first in line in my continue watching. Our Firestick also seems integrated into the other apps like Hulu where it’ll show a continue watching on the home page and open the appropriate app.

OK, so I'm revamping my cable/internet choices and am trialing both T-Mobile home internet and Fubo TV.
T-Mobile is a no brainer. Working very well.

W/r/t TV provider, I'm trialing Fubo TV (Pro) and if I go that route, I'm opting for the quarterly payment plan as it adds 8 additional sports channels (MLB and NHL being the big ticket items).
List price for Pro is $79.99 but I also need the regional sports network ($11.99) and of course there's taxes ($6.44). So my monthly bill will be $98.42

So far the picture quality with the new T-Mobile/Fubo TV combo is as good or better than the cable land line.

I trialed YouTube TV a while ago, but as they didn't have the regional sports network, I didn't pull the trigger. They still don't have it, but it is now available as a standalone app ($18.99)
YouTube is $72.99 per month; $57.99 for the first 3 months.
Question for you YouTube TV guys is: what's the total bill? Taxes? Fees? Anything else?

If I use 7% (roughly the Fubo tax rate) for the YouTube and RSN charges, I get a grand total of $98.42.
This can't be an accident, can it?

My Fios internet-only bill doesn't have any fees or surcharges added. Why are you renting a router? Buying your own will be cheaper in the long run.

I bought a router and modem years ago and they've paid for themselves several times over by now.
But don't think the cable companies haven't noticed and done something about it.
I found out my dad has been paying $15/month for an Xfinity box. So I bought him the router I have (I also am a current, soon to be former Xfinity customer).
However, when I went to set it up, I had to call Xfinity to provide some information (for their "audit" wtf that may be). Guess what, the modem I use is no longer accepted. If you go to their site you can see the list of acceptable modems and they are all much more expensive that the one I am currently using right this second to post this message!
I imagine they figure that if the payback period is twice (or more) as long as it would be with the cheaper modem, customers might not make the switch.

Anyway, screw the bastages.

I switched since Spectrum went up from $50 to $85/mo at the 500 mbps tier and T-Mobile was still $50. Also didn't realize the 5g was only about 200 mbps.

We were recently at a T-Mobile store and asked them about the 5G internet service. They were guaranteeing 600mb download and 75 mb upload but need 5G service. We only have 4g service in our neighborhood so not an option right now.

The difference in price between Fubo and YouTube is exactly offset by what Fubo charges for regional sports and what the regional sports app costs.
@Wingnut and @houston have it dead on w/r/t channel numbers. It's going to take some getting used to changing channels on the new service.

Anyway, unless someone's got some additional insight, it looks like I'll go with Fubo TV, the tiebreaker being not having to exity YouTube TV to watch regional sports

OK, so I've had Fubo for a little over 2 months and ... I'm not wild about it. It was frustrating in that they didn't have TBS/TNT/Tru/CNN so I only got to watch half of the NHL conference finals.
I think I'm going to switch over to YouTube TV + my regional sports app. The cost is the same (actually it will be less for the 4 month lower price YouTube TV promo), but will have that TBS etc. cluster.

But I'm not seeing the NHL network in the channel listings. Is this correct? No NHL network on YouTube TV?

OK, so I'm revamping my cable/internet choices and am trialing both T-Mobile home internet and Fubo TV.
T-Mobile is a no brainer. Working very well.

W/r/t TV provider, I'm trialing Fubo TV (Pro) and if I go that route, I'm opting for the quarterly payment plan as it adds 8 additional sports channels (MLB and NHL being the big ticket items).
List price for Pro is $79.99 but I also need the regional sports network ($11.99) and of course there's taxes ($6.44). So my monthly bill will be $98.42

So far the picture quality with the new T-Mobile/Fubo TV combo is as good or better than the cable land line.

I trialed YouTube TV a while ago, but as they didn't have the regional sports network, I didn't pull the trigger. They still don't have it, but it is now available as a standalone app ($18.99)
YouTube is $72.99 per month; $57.99 for the first 3 months.
Question for you YouTube TV guys is: what's the total bill? Taxes? Fees? Anything else?

If I use 7% (roughly the Fubo tax rate) for the YouTube and RSN charges, I get a grand total of $98.42.
This can't be an accident, can it?

No MLB network either. :sigh:

They are making this very difficult. Fubo has MLB and NHL as well as my local sports network, but their guide/interface blows and they are missing all of the Warner Brothers Discovery channels (e.g., CNN, TBS).

I like YouTube TV's guide/interface much better, but they're missing MLB, NHL and my local sports network. I can purchase the local sports network separately, and the price works out to be about exactly the same as Fubo (and actually better for the first 4 months at a discounted rate).

I think I'm going to switch over to YouTube and pick up the local sports app once the free trial ends; I'll cancel my Fubo subscription as I'm only paid through the end of the month anyway.
If it turns out the NHL is a must have, I may have to revisit.

This is torture, but I'm still not going back to Xfinity.

You Tube TV has gone up from 55/mo 3 month promo to 65/mo to 72/mo to 82/mo (starting January) in like 2 years. I can’t take it anymore. Have those dumb indoor antennas gotten any better, or do they still suck. Please help. I think we can get by with good antennas plus Netflix, prime, Hulu, Disney, max and ditch the YouTube tv.

Disney/Hulu is buying Fubo so more consolidation in the one area most important to me- live sports. I’m going to look into returning to DTV streaming. Hulu live is already about $100/mo and I pretty much only use it for live sports. I get my Wi-Fi from ATT so may as well bundle it.
