For the second Predator, did you mean Predators?

I liked the old Robocop but not the new one.

Alien is a brilliant movie and should be included even though it is very different from Aliens.
Didn't really mean to put it twice, although I liked the 2nd one. Probably not too many people do.It's best to forget the new Robocop even happened.

Alien should be included. I was just adhering to the thinking of it being more of a horror movie.

My list is more of a "worth watching" list than a "must watch list". In that vein, The Prestige and I, Robot are also worth seeing.
Predator 2 is a guilty pleasure. Danny Glover would not have been my first choice but he has grown on me over my 20+ viewings of the film.

Planet of the Apes

Forbidden Planet

Fantastic Planet (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070544/)

District 9

The Blob

The Thing (Kurt Russel version)

Alien

Star Wars

Surprised that "The Fifth Element" is getting so much love. My wife and I both loved it but my brother and sister in law think its one of the worst movies ever.

Star wars really doesn't hold up. When I was younger it seemed awesome but now it seems less like science fiction and more like science class. If I wanted a lecture on how the force works and ancient science fighters use their laser swords I'd read a book.

Guardians of the Galaxy. No, it is not "must Watch" but out of all the

recent super hero movies this one is the most fun.

Stargate and Starman. Stargate for the worm hole premise and Starman

for the simplicity of the story.
