What are some movies most people consider bad that you like? (1 Viewer)

I need to watch Ishtar again.  As I recall, it loudly panned back in the day, but it happened to be the in-flight movie on a long trip. I thought it was hilarious, but my opinion was probably swayed by the bottomless bottle of wine.

Note for my memoirs:  Cathay Pacific business class rocked in the 80s.

No idea if most people consider this a bad movie-too lazy to check RT- but I LOVE Starshp Troopers. Love the campiness. Just an awesome movie. And it has Doogie Howser (sp?) in it!

Jist watched it again yesterday for like the 5th time. So awesome.

All good movies. This one might not count because it IS a cult classic but...Army of Darkness.

I'm entertained by most movies so I probably watch a lot of films that aren't acclaimed.

Ninth Gate is awesome.  Love movies like that.

I don't like NASCAR.

I don't like Tom Cruise.

But I LOVE Days of Thunder. :bag:
Last night we stayed up to watch a movie and I showed my husband this thread since we couldn't think of a movie. He says "Days of Thunder, we have to watch it tonight."

So when I asked him what it was about, he said "Ricky Bobby, but a little more serious"

So I thought what the hell, Talladega Nights had a couple of funny parts. Days of Thunder is awful. I fell asleep 45 minutes in. How can a movie have so many good actors and suck so bad?

I did wake up for the last 10ish minutes and now have the painful memory burned into my brain of Tom Cruise and Robert Duvall having a man crush moment with each other, before embarking on the worst foot race I have ever seen.

This sounds a bit like some of your NBA analysis; "I don't really understand what I'm watching and didn't really watch all of it, but I'm going to give my baseless opinion anyway."  ;)

Oh for sure.  I think the campiness was fully intended.  I wouldn't classify it as "bad" really.

10 Things I Hate About You (The Taming Of The Shrew)

YES!  Absolutely loved Julia Stiles.  Just something about her.

“A California skateboarder (Christian Slater) solves and avenges the death of his adopted Vietnamese brother.”

:lmao:

Love. This. Movie.
Filmed a lot of this at Woodbridge High in Irvine, CA.  Not sure how I know this.  Local HS.

Varsity Blues

Welcome to the ignore list.  Party of now two.

This thread got me thinking about the largest difference on Rotton Tomatoes between the critics score and audience score. First movie I thought of was Boondock Saints and I think it is going to be tough to find one with a bigger difference. 20% for critics, 91% for audience.

Love this movie.

Pretty sure there is already a thread dedicated to this
