I snore so i sleep in my mancave alot and am hoping this is alot more comfortable than the terribly firm Sams Club coil mattress with memory foam topper i've been trying to sleep on. Spine hates that laying on my side. Almost like i get a twisted feeling in middle of back.

Mattress and bed set up. Initial thought is mattress is too firm. Was hoping it would have more "give". Hopefully i'll change my mind after first night on it. I can add my 3 inch gel topper to it i guess too.
Is it worth reading all 17 pages of this? Both my wife and myself are side sleepers (generally we're "spooning" each other in the middle of our king size bed)....and it's time for a new mattress. Should I be looking a specific direction? Why have a king size bed if you guys sleep close to each other all night anyways? Seems like a waste of bedroom real estate.

I've had my DreamFoam about a year now. Just as good as when I got it, it's holding up well so far. No sagging or low spots.
Still very comfortable, wife and I both love it.
The only problem is I now have a hard time sleeping when I'm not home, travelling. The mattress has made me soft.

I wanted to like this matress but i just can't. Way too firm and wake up hurting. I submitted a retrun request thru Amazon and am waiting to hear from the seller. Anyone ever return one of the memory foam matresses? No idea how i'm going to be able to package it for shipping. Might have to eat the $400.Anyone in the Phoenix area need a memory foam mattress at a discount?

Need some help re any recent bed in a box purchases.
We bought a Pac Bamboo maybe 4 or so years ago based on this thread. It's amazing. Still the best night of sleep we ever get.
Last year I bought my parents a new mattress. The BIAB had doubled in price (we had bought ours for $700), so I did some research and got them a Sleep Innovations off amazon. It's way more firm and not nearly as comfortable as our BIAB
Parents aren't thrilled with it. But they stayed at our house his weekend with the kids and slept in our bed and were raving about the mattress. So I'd like to get one for them. Two problems. First, it looks like the price has as least doubled. Is that right? Is it just that the quality is so good and they got so popular that they inflated hem? Second, I don't see a model anymore with the same name. Now I only see PacBamboo Gel. Is that the one I want if I want a copy of the same mattress?
Thanks. By the way, I travel a ton and stay in all sorts of hotel beds, including some really nice hotels. This BIAB bed is the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Everybody should own one. And these folks spending 3 or 4 grant on a bed? I can't imagine them being that much better. But who knows.

I have the PacBamboo and bought around same time and price as you...still love it. I'm guessing the price has just naturally increased based on supply and demand. And I'm guessing that PacBamboo Gel is the same but with a better topper layer to reduce some of the heat feedback. If I had one complaint is that without a mattress pad of my own on, it can tend to sleep a little hot. I'm thinking this new version out now with the gel will help that aspect. Also that improvement gives them a "reason" for the raised price.

Did you use prime to get it? I returned one and just Saran wrapped that ##### with the UPS return shipping label on it and put it on my porch. It was full size, damn near impossible to get back in box. Through Amazon when printing the return label I specified UPS pickup.

Pretty much that there's no single correct answer here. Test some different kinds out in a local store but DO NOT buy one there unless you enjoy getting ripped off. Do your research and find the style you are shopping for and you can almost always find a wholesaler or buy direct from the manufacturer and save a good bit over what you're going to pay at the local retailer.kOOk said:

We have really been loving our Leesa mattress. It is more on the firm side, but super comfortable. It is hard to stay awake once on it. The wife took a little longer to adjust but now likes it. It sleeps cool enough as well.

So what was the final verdict on the Casper mattresses?
I like memory foam. Or whatever that foam is. I've had an awesome pillow for about 9 years that I can't sleep without it. I bought a memory foam topper to try out the feel and I loved that, but after about a week, I realized I was highly allergic to it. What I like about the Casper is you can try it for 100 nights and if you don't like it, you can return it at no cost. This works out well because I can find out if I'm allergic to it. I've read some great reviews on it, but was wondering about first hand experience from people I know and and disagree with about most politics.

Any of you guys want to expand on your experiences thus far? I'm leaning towards the one you got, TF as I am exclusively a side-sleeper and apparently softer is better for side guys like me. The Casper only comes in one firmness that I've seen described as medium to medium-firm. The latex Dreamfoam is fully customizable and the gel foam from them is described as "soft."Been great so far

We've had our Casper for 4 months now and I really couldn't be happier with it. I'm a side sleeper and I think the latex foam works really well for me by being soft enough to allow my body to drop in with the top layer but there's all the support underneath where I'm not sinking. I've laid on memory foam where I really had that sinking feeling and I am much better supported with the Casper. In the last few months of having a regular spring mattress my back was killing me - that's been completely gone. I also really like how stable it is, I can turn or get in/out of bed and it doesn't bother my wife at all and vice versa.Looking into this mattress now. I was pretty sure Casper would be the best bet for me anyway, but I went with them first because 100 days/free pickup was the best of the return policies, so I figured I might as well start with that. If it wasn't working out, I would have been able to then go with one of the "trials w/ a small return fee" types, and on down the line until I found one that worked.I'm also looking at the same options. GD it, there are pros and cons to all of the ones I am looking at. I may be forced to with Casper (or BIAB) just for the return policy and then fall back on Dreamfoam if the Casper is too firm.

I also haven't found it to sleep warm. I get warm sleeping in general, always have, but haven't noticed any difference with this mattress.

I'm about 14 hours from pulling the trigger on it. As of yesterday, I was leaning Casper because of the return policy but the old lady was at Mattress Firm and laid on the two Tempurpedic models that the innerwebs say compare to these mattresses (Flex Supreme = Casper and Cloud Luxe = Ultimate Dreams.) She loved the Cloud Luxe and is begging me to go Dreamfoam. Now I have to find a decent foundation for it that doesn't cost a ton since my wife already went out and spent $400 more on a dust ruffle and Egyptian cotton sheets.

We still love our Leesa. Reportedly more firm than the Casper. Comfy to sleep on in any position. Doesn't sleep hot. Basically the same trial period as the Casper.
I can post a link to the foundation we used if you want. Got it from Amazon on Prime, relatively cheap, and the people from Leesa said it would be perfect.

I got my foundation from Amazon as well. Assembled it easily on my own and my limited research indicated it was the same thing I'd be spending 2-3x as much on in a store. I paid something like $180 for a king.
BTW, when I ordered our Casper it was right after we also ordered a new bed, upgrading from a queen to a king. I was 100% certain that the bed we bought was a platform type like our old one. They come and deliver/put together the new frame and I see the big gaping hole with only the couple of support bars going across. I say to the guy as he's asking me to sign the paperwork, "uhhh what about the rest of it?" and he clearly indicated just how dumb he thought I was. My Casper was sitting in the box as I'm frantically calling places trying to find a foundation quickly, with no hope of getting one within two weeks, before I think of Amazon...found one that would be delivered in two days, and as I said at a fraction of the price. We spent those couple nights sleeping on our old queen mattress directly on our living room floor.
Not my finest moment.

My Casper was sitting in the box as I'm frantically calling places trying to find a foundation quickly, with no hope of getting one within two weeks, before I think of Amazon...found one that would be delivered in two days, and as I said at a fraction of the price. We spent those couple nights sleeping on our old queen mattress directly on our living room floor.

This is what concerns me about the metal "grid" or wood-slat inexpensive foundations. I don't want the mattress sinking through it. Right now, I'm not inclined to spend another 500 on a foundation so I'm contemplating getting one of these $100 foundations and just putting a piece of plywood on top of that and then putting the mattress on the plywood.

Simmons, stop wasting your time and money. I have one in bedroom #1 that is a 15 year old queen and some posters here at FBG have slept on that bed. I'm laying on it now typing. About as good as new.
Bedroom #2 has a King in it and also gives a great night's sleep.
