What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (2 Viewers)

New Glarus Wisconsin Belgian Red - one of my all time favorite fruit beers...straight up dessert in a glass. Its a great beer to indulge in once in a while.

Couple of buddies coming over for a saison tasting tonight.

Fantome, Tank 7, Sofie, Rabid Rabbit, and gonna crack 2013 Halia and Gillian -- really excited about those last two. A year ago both were absolutely awesome: funky, sour, complex as hell. Guessing they're even better now.

Stopped into Silverking brewery (flight...OK but nothing special), Pair-O-Dice (for a free pour of their Pineapple IPA that was released today. Meh) and am now at Six Ten in Tampa (a few sours and hoppy beers)...10 beers sampled so far...heading to angry chair next for some Fudge Bucket, German Chocolate Cupcake Stout and whatever sours they have on.

Surprise beer of the day so far is 5 Rabbit's 5 Lizard (passionfruit wheat). Outstanding. I might take a growler home.

I can't begin to recount all of the beers I had in Europe, but the beer scene in Amsterdam is outstanding.
How many Cantillons did you drink?
Actually only 1. I stumbled onto a beer store with a bunch of shelf loons on my second-to-last day. Went with the Rose de Gambrinus, was in the mood for raspberry.

They were priced cheaper than Clown Shoes beers in the same store, no joke. Significantly cheaper, like almost half the price of the Clown Shoes.

Angry Chair Fudge Bucket 9% ABV Imperial Milk Stout. Holy wow. Tastes like brownie batter infused with a bit of coffee. Insane.

Started with some Lagunitas Sucks. Forgot how good this is.

Moved on to Half Acre Navaja. Now, because late night high ABV beers are always a good idea, Avery DuganA. Wow. This one surprised me. Tropical fruit bomb.

Had some Ithaca Flower Power, and the Lawson's Sip of Sunshine last night. The Sip of Sunshine was on tap. Great beer.

Growler of Wicked Weed Glutenous Minimus. Man I love this brewery. Fresh Crank (thanks GB!) holy #### was this juicy, really fresh and just excellent..finished with some White Oak Jai Alai. Great day of beer today!

I found a liquor store here that has Dogfish Head 120 minute, which seems like a big deal. I don't really dig on hoppy beers and it's $11.49 for a 12 oz. bottle, so I'd normally ignore it, but is this like the kind of thing one just HAS to try?

Its not hoppy, its really sweet, almost like a cordial. I'm glad I tried it but its not something I'd ever want again.

Interesting. I just assumed since it's an IPA. If it's still there next time I go maybe I'll pick one up.

In Sheboygan. Drinking local which means 3 Sheeps. Their ipa is good, nothing great. Their Happy Summer is awesome. Have Oakey Dokey chilling. It's an ipa with 2 types of oak and birch staves. BA reviews are good.

Going to a local bar tomorrow that has Duet on tap.

Had 3 Easy Jack and a Helldorado last night. FW keeps knocking it out of the park with their BA beers.
I got a 2015 Helldorado this weekend, my BIL was shocked and happy (got it for him). Only 50 cases for IL were allocated and the one place that had it wanted 75.00 for the bottle.

Yeah, it's been hard to come by. Store I frequent got 2 cases.

I would contact FW about the gouging. I've done it in the past. They will tell their distributor to stop supplying them.

Such bull####. $16.99 here.

It's something like 17% abv and 100+ ibu. Really a barleywine. I would ignore at that price, or half that price. Try one some day when your buddy is buying, it's well done.

Yeah I got it for 15.99 here at my local shop, no way my BIL or I would pay that.

It's a great beer but I probably wouldn't pay that much for it. $8-9 I'd be tempted though. Agree that it's more a barleywine than an IPA.

Funky Buddha Last Snow (coconut coffee Porter). Was able to snag 4 bombers today, its a one bottle limit most places, and it usually doesn't last more than 24 hours.

Excellent stuff, and my first beer in 4 days.

Surly Todd the Axe Man
I'll be trying that one soon. How do you like it?
Been kind of burned out on IPAs lately but this thing is absolutely sick. Tropical and citrus fruit nose with earthiness shining through. More tropical fruit and some pine resin on the palate with an unbelievable juicy finish.
A great beer

They had a Surly Beer dinner last nite at the local pub and they poured Todd the Axe Man, 1349 Pale Ale, 1349 Black Ale (first beer poured and it is 13.49%ABV!), Overrated, and Mole Smoke.
Now they have them all on draft

Man....32oz of stout is just too much. Took me 2 hours to finish all but the last few ounces. Time to put the beer down for the night and pick up the bong one-hitter.
