What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (3 Viewers)

Buddy of mine picked me up a BA Hunter and Hunter Vanilla last week somewhere in the Downers Grove area.  Looking forward to trying them when my palette isn't scorched.

About to crack the Fresh v 1 although Hawks really has me wanting to open the Hipster.

HIPSTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Navaja...soooooo good after being sick most of the week. Also need to effort to find the Bruery 9 Ladies Dancing. Anyone have any idea when that drops?
Saw a tweet my local place got it in today.  Sounds pretty good will have to look for it next time I'm there

Just sent off a package to Boston; one each Heady, Focal, Julius, Green, Sap, and the box filled out with whatever fresh hops Trillium has next week will be inbound by the end of next week!  :pickle: :pickle: :pickle:

Next two "In the Shadows" from 18th Street hit today. Look slike these are going to be pretty regular which is awesome. The last two were fantastically good. Looks like my happy a$$ will be cruising over to Gary tomorrow. Drew is just absolutely killing it lately IMO.

"Available on draft and to go in Hammond (3pm in Gary):

Beware the False Prophet 5.7% Pale Ale. A smooth bodied pale ale brewed with Pilsen malt and flaked oats is hopped with Zythos and Falconers Flight, and then heavily dry hopped with Falconers Flight. Expect hints of Honey Suckle and Melon. $11 4 pack. Limit 4.

Thread the Needle 8% Double India Pale Ale. Big aroma greets you with our Amarillo hopped DIPA that is also heavily dry hopped with Amarillo. Expect 35% wheat in the grain bill with lots of Pineapple and Mango notes. $12 4 pack. Limit 4."
Considering heading up there tonight.

Went with High Westified. Absolutely delicious.
:kicksrock: jerk. If it wasn't supposed to be ####ty tomorrow I may have gone up to 18th st. Oh there is a new cidery opening next Friday out in Naperville, right by Solemn Oath. 2 Fools Cider, wife and I are going on Friday.

Have had it before, big fan myself. Probably the only one that's priced appropriately too.
They've gotten better IMO (back to normal for expensive beer). APAs are $11, IPAs usually $12, DIPAs $13 maybe $14 for sixers. The Shadows stuff is more, but they are dry hopping in huge amounts which is expensive.

Yeah, #### the snow. I'm not mentally ready to deal with it yet.

Necron 99 is good. It's not Permanent Funeral or Dreadnaught, but really good nonetheless. Nice that it's 7.3% -- those 9-10% FFF DIPA bombers are just too deadly and go down too easily for afternoon drinking / watching football.

Under Crown, ZD, SS Middle Finger will be tonight's lineup as I flip between the Big 10 Championship and the UFC fights. Pizza ordered.

Was really close to picking Necron 99 up at Open Bottle yesterday. Will give a shot next time I come across it.

Really loving Celebration this year, though I drink the #### out of it every year.  Tastes fresher, more (and I hate this term) dank.  It smells and tastes like weed, which I enjoy.  Really impressed with this year's batch.

Worked a beer fest today and the Sierra booth had Celebration. Drank more of that than anything else at the fest. Then went to a bar and they had it on tap. Had to get a pint.

Enjoying more Civil Society tonight. Fresh to Death, Emerald Showers, Pulp. Murderers row of tasty hops from these guys.

Alright beer guys, I don't post in here often because it doesn't really do much good to let you know the beers I'm drinking that you can't get and vise versa (though I had a Blood of Cthuhlu Imperial Stout by Railway City last weekend that was just fantastic).

Anyway, we get a new batch of about 10 special release beers every season at the LBCO, are any of these specially worth sourcing out? I've had the Orval before. I've had Smuttynose Robust Porter, is the Baltic significantly better? It has a higher untappd score fwiw. I will grab the Old Rasputin and the Ten FIDY to try but any others? Is the Boulevard Bourbon Barrel Quad worth $14.95 for a bottle?

473363 Marie's Rendezvous $9.95 750 10 PRIVATBRAUEREI G. SCHNEIDER &
474635 Smuttynose Baltic Porter $13.50 1420 9 NAC IMPORTERS INC.
402578 Rodenbach Vintage 2014 $12.95 750 7 PALM BREWERIES
907261 Kasteel Donker, Extra Strong Dark Belgian Ale $3.80 330 11 VAN HONSEBROUCK
474510 Old Rasputin $6.95 650 9 NORTH COAST BREWING COMPANY
97469 Samichlaus $5.25 330 14 EGGENBERGER INTERNATIONAL
473603 Nogne O Imperial Rye Porter $6.55 500 9 NOGNE O
481564 Oskar Blues Ten FIDY $5.15 355 10.5 AFIC EXIM (CANADA) CORP.
473629 2015 Bourbon Barrel Quad $14.95 750 11.8 DUVEL MOORTGAT USA, LTD
439992 ORVAL TRAPPIST ALE $3.55 330 6.9 BRASSERIE D'ORVAL S.A.
402370 WESTMALLE DUBBEL $3.60 330 7 INTERTRACON BVBA

The Boulevard BBQ is absolutely worth trying if you like quads. It's been a long time since I've had Kasteel Donker, but I remember liking it. Westmalle Dubbel is a classic and Rodenbach beers are probably among the best Flanders reds in the world if sours are in your wheelhouse.

Orval and Rodenbach Grand Cru are both regulars in my rotation and I have multiple vintages of both in my fridge as we speak. Orval, in particular, ages really well as the barnyard Brett funk takes over from the dry-hopping that dominates when its young.

We're tapping Oskar Blues Ten-Fidy Barrel Aged tomorrow evening

Celebration Ale and Two-Hearted last night. I might throw up today. Not inconceivable an emergency bloody mary work lunch ends up in order.

Wife just texted me: "You spent $484 on beer last month!!!"

Me: "Uhhhh holidays?"

Oof. She's got a point this time, that's a bit excessive LOL.
