ETA: Have misc sours left including 2 cans of Hidden Springs Cracktus. I might hit one of those tonight.
I've done BCBS Friday the past 2 years. Not doing it this year. I still have a lot from past years and I came upon plenty of the stuff after Black Friday. Supposedly bottle quantities are down this year, but I won't lose sleep if I miss out. I did fork out 25 bucks for Founders CBS but I passed over Surly Darkness at $25.Not taking part in Bourbon County Black Friday this year. The variants don't seem that great except for maybe the vanilla.
Wheatwine. Midnight orange, bramble Rye?
They’ve got some good stuff. I’ve not had it, but I hear many good things.450 North Brewing's Fruit Basket Slushy (Passionfruit, mango, pink guava Berliner)
Fan. Friggin. Tastic.
This and their Raspberry Plum Slushy are some of the best berliners I've had. Just incredible.
Got into a 2015 No Rules and a 2017 BA Expedition StoutCellar dwelling,

I'm generally not a fan of IPAs with vanilla and fruit, or sour IPAs, but last night had a 450 North Double Froot Milkshake IPA with strawberry and vanilla and it was delicious.i had a Civil Society Fresh with Dragonfruit and vanilla. Kind of odd . Not quite a sour. Not quite an IPA. Maybe my CS expectations are too high.
Also had Tracks which was wonderful.
Ambrosia is good. Tiki Apocalypse is solid too.I'm not a fan of IPAs with vanilla and fruit, or sour IPAs.
Stick to hops at CIvil and you'll be fine.
I'm having a Hidden Springs Ambrosia Berliner...really friggin good.
It's labeled as an IPA. The finish was lacking for an IPA. I thought it might be more milkshake but it wasnt. It was good. Just not CS good.I'm generally not a fan of IPAs with vanilla and fruit, or sour IPAs, but last night had a 450 North Double Froot Milkshake IPA with strawberry and vanilla and it was delicious.

I always forget about the King Gary variants. They're really good. It's labeled as an IPA. The finish was lacking for an IPA. I thought it might be more milkshake but it wasnt. It was good. Just not CS good.
CS stout like King Gary / Prince Gary / Bella are phenomenal too. I sampled several of them last weekend at the festival and they were crazy good..
How is it? I've only been there once and it was forgettable.Osaurus said:Cigar City Cider and Mead Wise ##### (p-rick) Cider. Haven’t been here in 3 years. WTH was I thinking?
Lacking mead today, but their variety of ciders is pretty good. I like this place, but don’t go out of my way to get here either. How is it? I've only been there once and it was forgettable.
I'm not seeing tons of it in Chicago. But surly darkness, deths tar and bcbs are all easily accessible.Did founders flood the market with CBS? I see it everywhere in SW mich, NW Indiana.
I am familiar with Vanchetta. I live about 5 miles from Leaven. Thanks for the heads up. When are we grabbing a beer? We’re overdue imo.@Osaurus this Friday one of my favorite local food trucks, Vanchetta, is gonna be a Leaven Brewing from 5pm - 9pm...Im working all weekend but I highly recommend trying the Vanchetta sandwich from them if you have never tried it and you can make it up there. Sliced slow roasted porchetta, apple slaw, red onion marmalade, provolone cheese and garlic aioli on a toasted roll...it's heavenly.
Threes is quickly moving up my list of favorite Brooklyn breweries. I had a There is no There There triple IPA last night. Very tasty.Drank almost all the sours on tap at Rapp and Pieracy, It’s a Crime from Arkane last Sunday. Also had Unreliable Narrator, Bears on a Rampage, and Darmok and Jalada at Tenagra (lol @ the reference) at Hidden Springs last Saturday. Grabbed a 4 pack of Jedi Mind Trick as well. Hidden Springs is one of my favorite breweries in Tampa Bay.
