Swami's IPA - Pizza Port Brewery finally canning their stuff.
seriously? Nice. What else are they canning?
Ponto session IPA and Chronic. Doors open for other stuff eventually. They're also distributing all draft offerings to local bars.

Taking down a belated BDay gift from a friend.

Blind Pig

Pliny the Elder

Kern River Just Outstanding

Kern Winter Ale (surprise, it's a DIPA)

All fantastic
Pliny and Blind Pig both on tap at PPort right now.
I was going to pop on today and heard they were closed. And you still owe me a beers.
Also, I'd take most of the pizza port house IPAs over the RR stuff.

Agreed. Poors Man's being #1. San Clemente's lineup (Killer Dana, El Camino) is not half bad either.

Stone Smoked Vanilla Bean Porter. Meh, not impressed, and I love Stone.

Samuel Smith Organic Chocolate Stout. Outstanding

Erdinger Heffe-Weizen Dunkel. Not impressed.

then went back to Dogfish 90 and Arrogant B. :)

My BIL brought down some Sweetwater Festive Ale from Atlanta. I really liked it and still have a few more.

I also went back to Cigar CIty Brew Pub over the vacation to have a few more of their Oyster Stout. Great stuff.

my fallback beer of all time... gumball head - three floyds.

tried narwhal stout - sierra tonight too. it's so so. a bit too smokey for an imperial for me, but solid all around.

Looking to stay in madison leading up to the taste, too, i'll bring furley
Hit me up. I'm semi (willy st) down town with some crash area... it would be most comfortable if you slept with furley but we can make other arrangements if you're not that close lol.

ETA: we'll need a meet and greet first. FBG's is good but some sort of verification process necessary.

ha, I just meant I'd been town for a while..not just the taste. ftr, furley = little spoon
:suds: it gets packed around here during the great taste. but the night life is amazing. all of the bars take in some of the out of town breweries. great time to be in madison regardless if you have tickets or not. my doors are tentatively open. we should get together.

Brick House pre-party.

Gator owes me like 3 years worth of lost bet beers, I'll have him buy them for you.

Community Beer Works Stout Affective Disorder

Local Option/Dark Horse Sweet Leif

Hofstettner Heller Bock Saphir Zymatore (Sour Blend)....I had to look this name up

Ayinger Weizenbock

Brown Shugga

(yesterday)

Terrapin Wake N' Bake coffee oatmeal imperial stout. Great beer. I also have a bottle of Terrapin's new Cinnamon Roll'd Wake N' Bake that I am looking forward to trying.

Stout night (so far)

Great Lakes Blackout Stout

Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout

Devil Made Me Do It (not a stout but a porter I guess)

Obsidian

On a side note, I have actually seen some 3 Floyds on the shelf for more than 2 days even though the stores only get a case or 2. I think with so many good options now with Surly, Ballast Point, Sucks and more it's pretty replaceable. When I talked to the store owner's wife, she said that others are saying the same thing. Not sure what I am really getting at besides it's a good time to be a beer drinker in Chicago. And not having to go to Indiana for some of my favorite beers is nice too when I have the taste for FFF. That includes Dust though the markup is $5 a sixer.

Just had some terrapin wake and bake, pretty damn good. Freak of nature very good.Prancer imperial brown not bad. Hop drop stellar as always.

Chicago/Wisconsin/Minnesota is pretty much beer heaven.

I don't think we even got any Sucks this year....at least I didn't see any.

Brewed up my Blood Orange Hefeweizen last night. We shall see what it's like in a couple of weeks. Also found out about a spruce beer made in Canada from Christmas tree's. Might have to look for it if it's available anywhere

Got some of this for Xmas, but havent tried it yet. Any good?
I got some Heady Topper for Christmas as well, and I thought it was outstanding. Definitely in the super elite tier, if not the best overall, of all IPAs I've ever had. I would try to drink it relatively soon for maximum hop freshness.
 Was told not to sit on it too long.

Probably a top 5 beer in the world. Period.
:excited:

<_<

Black Diamond Dubbel Down, 22 oz bottle

Poured like watered down pond mud with a slight tint of thinned blood. It's opaque against a fairly bright light. A thin head quickly vanished into the abyss. A big whiff reminded me of the early 90s house brews at Oggi's Pizza. Now I want pizza. This is good but different from any Begian-styles I know. Which isn't surprising considering the intense color. The hops are instantly muted by a sweet floral deal I can't call malty, but there's a quick easy drinking finish. It's like bitter vs sweet turns into tart like yogurt. This is gardenia caramel chocolate yogurt beer. So balanced. Too balanced? The finish just keeps you drinking. It's very nice. I could easily drink three and forget the day. Worth the $7? Close but yeah sure, will have again on the right occasion, with a big yeasty sourdough pizza. Maybe for dinner.

Saturday night was Alpha King, nothing last night. Tonight I may drink a Zombie Dust and Fistmas along with some cellared stuff while watching some college football. Tomorrow night hitting the sticks of Wisconsin with my family to visit my wife's family where craft beer is considered Miller High Life.
