What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (17 Viewers)

Green flash is pretty tasty
what of theirs did u have?
West coast and le freak on tap. Also some ninkasa and deschutes ipas in the bottle. Oh and 6 different 4oz samplers at Stone, the black IPA w/espresso was the ####. And a Russian river blind pig. Pliny was out :( ... GB San Diego, I had no idea it was such a beer haven.
Greatest beer county in the entire world. No doubt about it.

Holy hell, I had an IPA this afternoon that didn't offend me.

Samuel Smith's India Ale

And wouldn't you know, it only gets an 83 on Beer Advocate. :lmao:
Don't drink IPAs from out of the country. Drink them from down the street from you. Or don't drink IPAs. Your call.
If the one I like is from out of the country (kind of the reason they were invented in the first place) that's what I'm gonna drink, sucka.
At least it's better than Coors Light

An English ipa is a different beer than an American IPA, at least for purposes of the beer judging standards. I think it's a great style. No reason for concern if your taste buds disagree with the herd at Beer Advocate.

Founders Black IPA, Smuttynose Big A IPA next
Founders Black IPA......is this bottled? Haven't heard of it but intrigued..
http://foundersbrewing.com/latest-news/2013/inspired-artist-black-ipa-to-be-released-in-honor-of-artprize/It was new this year to go with their partnership with a local artists group. They will be bottling a new Inspired Artist beer each year so I don't know if they will brew it again. If you see a bottle, it's great stuff and worth getting. I'm not a black IPA fan typically, but I love Founders version.

Looks like only distributed in Michigan. Or my reading comprehension is taking the night off.

Great Lakes Chillwave - run don't walk to get this if you're a hop head

Revolution Jukebox Hero black IPA. Incredible.
I went looking for Chillwave. It was called Alchemy Hour last year and it was great. I am sure you knew that already.
I did not know this, so thanks for posting it. Will keep an eye out. They didn't have any at the store yesterday.
Found a bunch and ended up picking up a couple 4-packs. Will drink them sometime this weekend.

Stone variety box. IPA, DoubleRuination IPA, Oaked Arrogant *******, and Elevation. I hope to sleep well tonight.

You guys who like Stone.. you have to make it to their brewery if you are ever in SoCal. Great place to chill. Better than the beer.
This is in fact a personal goal of mine. I am still trying to line up something business related to the location.Schlzm

The place is incredible.

I met Greg and Steve (founders of Stone) in 1996 when they first hit the pavement in their one and only van trying to peddle Stone Pale Ale to anyone they could. My sister in law worked in a small strip mall deli with good beers on tap. I'd sit at the bar there and watch football in peace. Plus I got freebies from the sil. Greg and Steve were selling, trying hard to get a tap in that tiny little nowhere deli. I gave them a pretty hard time. Stone wasn't even a blip on the microbrew radar. They made the sale despite me, and we drank a toast and another. I drank that stuff, then the IPA then Arrogant and pretty much every offering since. I like the malty stuff, but Stone is way down my list of favorite brewers. Oddly, I worked for Sierra Nevada in the early 80s and I don't care for their beer that much either.

Well if you see them nailing your sister again let them know I love their Levitation, which I just popped a bottle on. Schlzm

Levitation, deschutes fresh squeezed IPA.

Re: stone, went to their bistro & gardens place last weekend and it was out of this world. All their beers plus many more cal brews on tap, incredible menu, bocce courtyard, outdoor movie theater, water ponds/falls/etc everywhere, great 'scenery'. Felt like being at a classy beer amusement park.

Now that I've seen it advertised, I'm pretty sure it's the same logo/bottle art as Alchemy Hour. Should be pretty easy to spot but I haven't seen it yet. I loved Alchemy Hour last year.

This winter has been so brutal. Today is one of the first gorgeous days this year, I'm taking my drinking outdoors. Don't know what I'll be drinking yet but I am heading to a beer garden to drink something German, in a Stein and outdoors while staring at chicks in skirts.

Cheers!

On my way to Grand Rapids for KBSWeek. Picking up 2 four packs, sampling some of the many special beers at the tap room (got my eyes on a Mackinac Island Fudge Stout, firkin of Red Rye and a German hops IPA) and then finding one of the many bars tapping KBS.
