What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (3 Viewers)

i wish there was more conversation in here
What would you like to know? I am ready and willing to engage in banter, discourse or even a wild game of truth or dare.
Yeah, I always wonder about posts like that. If you want a conversation, start one. Ask a question. Say something controversial. This is FBGs. You'll get a conversation. Just don't threaten to sue when it goes sideways.

Post 34121? It's not exactly a conversationalist's dream of a post, but it''s an opportunity to relate to beer ads these days...

I didn't get what he meant about the beer ads.

He was referring to his earlier post:

These Shocktop ads during the NCAAs claiming to be "Belgian-style" are making me spit out my Orval

I'm going to a "bottle-share" with some beer geeks for the Wisconsin game later. Need to find that bottle in the cellar that will meet the geek standard but still something I don't mind sharing with random dudes.

Anyone familiar with the Tucson beer scene? In town for the night and looks like there are half a dozen breweries around. Any recs?

nice, and the options are?
I ended up bringing something from Cigar City, a collaboration they made with the Bruery that I've had in the cellar for a couple years. It was a very good, but the true sign that I picked wisely was when six of seven guys in the room (everyone but me) have their phones out so they can tick a beer for the first time on untapped.

Had some Yuengling over the weekend. I can't buy this stuff here in St Louis, but had someone pick me up some recently. I had forgotten how much I liked this stuff.

Despite often drinking way too often, I'm pretty confident I know every beer I have ever had. I can't name them all from the top of my head, but if you ask me, I can remember if I had it and what I thought.

Wanderer?

I check in to every beer on Untappd. How else would I know I have had over 400 Nelsons?

Levitation, deschutes fresh squeezed IPA.

Re: stone, went to their bistro & gardens place last weekend and it was out of this world. All their beers plus many more cal brews on tap, incredible menu, bocce courtyard, outdoor movie theater, water ponds/falls/etc everywhere, great 'scenery'. Felt like being at a classy beer amusement park.
Sounds like you were at their Liberty Station location, which is around 1 mile from my crib. Place is very nice. They have a grapefruit IPA right now that is really good.

It was the Dos Costas Oeste on cedar.

Just picked up 3 bottles of Stone Enjoy by 4/20. Too busy drinking bourbon tonight to try the brews and headed out of town tomorrow for the week. Anyone had this before? Debating if I should go back and buy the other 8 bottles before I hit the road.

Enjoy by 4/20 was good, nothing spectacular but worth picking up if you see it. Did go back and pick up the 5 bombers they had left.

I was on a beer nerd site last night and everyone was jerking all over about Founder's KBS, I'd never heard of it but went looking for it this afternoon. Not distributed in my state but did find a beer bar serving it. Every bit as good as BCBCS, if you see KBS anywhere stock up.

Lucky to find it, pretty rare beer. I live in Michigan and getting your hands on it isn't easy. To get from the rehearse at the brewery you have to buy a ticket to be able to buy it. The tickets sold out in less than 20 minutes.

I just got two bottles of KBS (2013) in a beer trade. It's been one of my white whales for years, so I am pretty excited to finally try it.

I had a Pliny the Elder while bottling my own dry-hopped imperial IPA.

I also had a Cigar City Jai Alai IPA and Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA.

Solid night of hops.
How is the Pliny? You always wonder if the top rated beers live up to the reputation (BCBCS and KBS certainly did). I hear they only distribute to 3 states, if so where do you find these?Drank 2 more of the 4/20s last night, they are growing on me with each bottle and at 9.4% they pack a nice punch. Apparently Stone rotates their distribution for each batch so Enjoy By won't be in these parts until late summer.

The Pliny is really nice. I'm a bit spoiled because one of my local brewpubs in Denver almost always has Pliny on tap, but it truly is a world-class beer. I get the bottles of Pliny from my local liquor store in Denver.
