What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (5 Viewers)

I got tickets to the Boulder Sourfest at Avery Brewing Co. today. The tickets literally sold out in less than 1 minute. It was insane. It is supposed to be one of the best beer events of the year in Colorado, if not the entire country. I'm pretty psyched.

Southern Tier Cuvee 2
Jesus....this is like 4 years old, no?

FWIW, I think Cuvee 2 was my favorite. Haven't seen it in forever. That's the deep ruby red colored one, right?
Yes and yes

very mellow but a lot of flavor still
I remember sending you bottles of Choklat like 4 years ago. I assume you get Southern Tier out there now?
negative

don't recall who I got this from

Lagunitas IPA, SN Torpedo, Knob Creek 100, Bulleit 10 Yr, and then a Surly Blakkr. I was close to blackout drunk by the time I got to the Surly but from what I remember it was phenomenal.

I meant to get names or pictures of all the beers I drank today in Budapest....hasn't happened so let's just say I drank a lot.

Just read my one of my favorite dive bars back home burned down last night. It had been opened since the end of Prohibition. This is really sad.

Ommegan Abby Ale

Pretty Things Jack D'Dor followed up with

Jackas Abby Hoponius Union

all on tap ....nice night
How's the Abby Ale? Is it an Amber or a red?
nice amber almost a ruby brownNothing less than a 9 tonight . Best beer was the Jacks Abby . Its my second favorite IPA behind Heady Topper.
I'll have to give that a try.
I'd rank 'em1Jacks

2-Pretty Things

3-Ommegang

all close splitting hairs with the different styles

I found some Surly Cocoa Bender (brown ale infused with cocoa nibs, coffee, and vanilla beans) on tap in Denver today. The keg must have been dropped off by Surly during Craft Beer Convention Week a few weeks ago since we don't get Surly distributed here. I'm not typically a big fan of brown ales because I find that there is usually not enough going on to really interest me, but the addition of the cocoa nibs, coffee, and vanilla beans in this one makes it a really delicious, flavorful beer. I wish Surly was more readily available out here.

I was watching the Champions League footy yesterday afternoon at a place that had 10-Fiddy on tap, charging $3 for a 16 ounce pour. Same price for Founders All Day IPA It must have been a pricing mistake or something. Midway through the first half, I sent word to my office that I would not be returning. By halftime, I had made alternate travel arrangements to get home.

Nice. Did you have the 4/20s in your area? My store said they only get every other batch distributed in our state, just curious if that is standard protocol or a fact of life in a flyover state.

It took about half a bomber for me to appreciate the 4/20, but I ransacked the stores in town and drank/gave away 10+ bombers once I realized how damn tasty they were.

Im about an hour north of the brewery, so we see them all. i think the 4/20 was a little better than the 5/16
