What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (2 Viewers)

Also...purchased two bombers of 2014 Pumking and stashed them in the beer fridge.
WTH did you find those?
Either Buy-Rite liquors on Rt. 31 in Pennington, NJ or Pocono Beverage in Tobyhanna, PA. Or I have a good friend who works at Huntington Brewing in NJ.

Pumking has been out for about three weeks.
####, I'm glad you posted. I didn't realize it was out.
Pumking is really polarizing, imo. I love the stuff, but others think it's over the top.

It is, undeniably, ridiculously sweet. As such, it can give the drinker a nasty hangover.

Saw it last weekend in a store in the SW burbs of Chicago. Haven't seen Warlock yet.

Great Divide Yeti imperial stout on nitro

River North Oud Bruin sour brown ale aged in red wine barrels for 20 months

Comrade Superpower IPA (new brewery in Denver and their IPA is super legit; highly recommended)

Plus, tons of other stuff from Great Divide and River North. Hammered.

Went to a local brewery that opened recently, Resurgence.

Had their Summer Road Trip IPA and then helped my girlfriend kill a flight of their Belgian Pale Ale, Sponge Candy Stout, Logangberry Wit, and Smoked Amber.

They were okay.

Lager drafts, at the local bar near my new crib since I have none of my possessions until tomorrow, and no cable/internet until late weekend.

It's temporarily refreshing, I gotta say.

Noble Chinook Showers followed by a Ballast Point Grapefruit Sculpin. I'm fuzzy.
My god that Grapefruit Sculpin sounds good. Thoughts?
Really, really good! I have to say upfront that I am a huge fan of the regular Ballast Point Sculpin. With that being said, the Grapefruit Sculpin is incredible. The Grapefruit is really up front and in your face, but not in a bitter or sour way. More like a sweet fruit...perhaps with a subtle pineapple/peach/mango flavor as well. Delicious and I would highly recommend if at all possible to acquire. No sign of any alcohol and extremely drinkable...you could have many of these without issue. The 7% abv would eventually catch up to you, but well worth it.

Nice, Sculpin is sadly not available in my area so no chance I get the Grapefruit, but it will now be something to look for when I am out west as I love IPAs with grapefruit taste.

My buddy in San Diego just picked up a 6 pack of it for me at Ballast Point, I'm trading him a sixer of Jai Alai and a crowler of Cycle's Crank IPA for it. I told him I wanted Sculpin and last night he texts me "which Sculpin do you want"?I said "If you can get grapefruit I definitely want it"...10 minutes later he texts me "BOOM!" With pic of a 6 pack. I was all :excited:

Can't wait to try it.

Eta: I'm enjoying a Crowler of Crank as I type this. So good.

Drinking my first Hop Drop n Roll. Love it. Juicy, dank, and the 5 different hops mingle nicely. It has a nice malt backbone for balance...its got a slightly thick mouth feel too, almost like a DIPA. Great beer!

Next up: my first Sculpin IPA.

If you're not watching Brew Dogs on Esquire, its easily the coolest beer show I've seen. Every week they do a crazy collaboration with a brewery in the city they're in, and its always something interesting. They also both do pairings with local food and give cool tidbits about beer styles and history. Very cool show.

Highly recommend.

Had a Myron's Walk earlier.

Moved on to Community Beer Works The End is Rye!, pretty solid. Black rye IPA released today. Probably a one-time thing.

Enjoying the show & recording. Only 'problem' is that much like Mad Men, I can't watch without drinking.

I only watch if I have quality beers in the fridge. There's no other way

Did you check out Sand Creek in Black River Falls? I've heard their taproom is worth visiting, but not been there myself.
Not sure if your travels will take you through Wisconsin Dells/Lake Delton, stop in Liquor Central, which is off the Highway 12 exit. Sounds likethey received some Oracle, Surly, as well as Toppling Goliath.
Was going to stop somewhere in that area on the way home and grab some alesmith since its not available in Chicago. Now I have more reasons to stop. I considered going to Lacrosse for toppling goliath but will just hit this place on the way home.

Alpine has a tasting room? How far from SD proper?

Where else should I hit for great west coast IPAs? WIll be in SD for a few days in October.
Alpine is about 25 miles due East on the 8. I live at the end of the 8, so it is about 30mins door-to-door for me. They don't have a tasting room really. Just a restaurant and the brewery a couple doors down for growler and bottle sales. Their food is fantastic. Mostly BBQ. I can literally go on a nd on about their menu, so let me know if you are actually going to make and I will proceed. If not, you will have a hard time finding their beer locally. It has gotten better recently, but you can only guarantee some if you drive out. Your other shots at it depend entirely on timing. They are currently contract brewing one large batch a month of their regular beers at a larger facility, so sometimes that one beer is easy to find if the timing is right. When you are closer to coming out, let me know. I highly recommend you make it to Alpine if like IPAs and BBQ, but if you can't and I'm around, I can grab you some bottles when I'm out there and give them to you closer to town.

Non Alpine:

Oh man….

It wasn't too long ago I would just link someone to a google map I made and let the map and my notes speak for itself. But now there are over 90 breweries in San Diego. It is insane. Tell me what part of town you are in, what styles you like, and you transportation/free time and I will give you the best recommendations on beer and food I can. For what it is worth, let's say you have the same exact bar, food, and beer tastes as me, don't miss Alpine, Pizza Port OB, or Toronado. So many other options as well from bars to breweries.

This is the craft beer capital of the world. Hard to go wrong if you try. Let me know how I can help.

#### Brewdogs, Gimmicky mother ####ers. Brew on a train? Under water? ZOMG! They put in like a drop of abalone tears! So crazy! Who gives a ####. #### off.

Celebrating the start of one year closer to either retirement or death, whichever comes first, with a Miller Lite with my father-in-law, an Against the Grain Rico Sauvin, now drinking a bottle of Toppling Goliath PsuedoSue. Not sure what if anything is next, I guess what would go best with an ice cream cake Shorts Strawberry Shorts Cake or Terrapin Wake and Bake?

They are minutes off the interstate, I cannot guarantee they have the Toppling Goliath, but Toppling Goliath posted on their facebook site they will be visiting on Friday. My brother in law picked my up a PsuedoSue two weeks ago.
