Had a #### load of those Swami cans at the soccer game yesterday.Working my way through a four pack cans of Modern Times Lomaland saison. From there I'm moving onto Port Swamis IPA.
Getting down with the Hops CM?CletiusMaximus said:Six pack of Sucks @ $8.99 in Milwaukee today. Good value. Hopslam is $16. Had one of each tonight, then pulled a 2010 Bigfoot from the cellar. I think 3F is overpriced across the board.I hear you but it's one of my favorite beers and I figure that I would spend that $3 on gas going to the brewpub anyway. That's how I rationalize it anyway. Marianos has Lagunitas Sucks for $8.49 a sixer. Almost bought a case yesterday but my beer fridge is full. I am thinking of going back today and just keeping it in the garage. Actually, one of my crispers is almost empty so....hmm.I used to by it when it was $9.99. I stopped when it went up to $12.99.6-packs of Alpha King are one of the things I miss most about living in Chicago. One of my favorite beer labels of all-time.Yesterday's haul: 2 4-packs of Surly Furious
Today's haul: 2 6-packs of Alpha King (bottled 1-20-14), one each of Sculpin, Coffee Bender, Tallgrass Vanilla Buffalo Sweat
Had a SN Celebration to start, an Alpha, now a Sculpin. Want to go Furious and Sucks as these are some of my favorite beers and want to see how they are back to back to back to back.
Yeah, I love the Lagunitas ipa's. Just popped the Consecration you sent me last year. Great sour beer. Have a Houblon in the fridge for kickoff.Getting down with the Hops CM?CletiusMaximus said:Six pack of Sucks @ $8.99 in Milwaukee today. Good value. Hopslam is $16. at 8:00 am the wait was two hours (RRBC opens at 11:00). rain may keep some folks away, but i doubt it.Pliny the Younger is out today. Get it if you can.
Its not Allagash White but its not bad. I didnt get the syrupy vibeSam Adams Cold Snap. I like white beers, so I figured I'd try a 6-pack of these. I'm indifferent, it's not bad and worth the $7 6-pack price, but far from a great white beer. Little bit syrupy, but not too bad.
I don't know how to describe it, but it was a little too sweet compared to other whites that I like. Still a solid brew, though. Would try again, wasn't bad at all.Its not Allagash White but its not bad. I didnt get the syrupy vibeSam Adams Cold Snap. I like white beers, so I figured I'd try a 6-pack of these. How much trouble will it be to find it? It's a very very good beer but not something I'd go like an hour out of my way for.Is Zombie Dust worth the effort in locating it?
How is this? Almost grabbed it many times but always found something else. Tonight was Guinness bottles, best this restaurant had to offer. Pleased to find out they are only 125 cals/12 oz which ain't bad if any of you are watching the figure this time of year.bentley said:Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye.
If you get it fresh and you likely will since it sells out immediately, yes. I had a couple tonight bottle 2/1/14 and it was great. I bought a case and sat on them a month or so and most were still great but some tasted a little funky. With so many other great beers in Chicago, I would agree with Tasker that there is a limit that I would go to get it.Hawks64 said:Is Zombie Dust worth the effort in locating it?

I'll second LHMS. Good brew.I had 3 3/4 Cold Snaps Thursday at a hotel lounge and I got a little tired of it towards the end obviously. I'd have it again but it's probably better in a Sam Adams sampler so you can mix it up a bit. Didn't get the syrupy feel either, which is good.
Again, depends on how much effort it would take. I wouldn't say it is a "beer to drink before you die" quality, but Three Floyds does wonders with hops. Zombie Dust, Alpha King, Arctic Panzer (my favorite), and Dreadnaught are all top class beers.Hawks64 said:Is Zombie Dust worth the effort in locating it?

Just finished a Westmalle 10, on to a Leffe Blonde now
any of these? My wife got Russian beer on account of the Olympics. I couldn't tell you the brand because it's in that crazy Cyrillic but it's pretty good. Very similar to German beers. She got 3 x 22oz bottles -- lager, dark ale and porter.![]()
A matter of trying to get one of my local bottle shops to hold a sixer for me, so it shouldn't be too bad. But not something I typically do. One of my shops should have some Weds but will likely be out in a few hours.Steve Tasker said:How much trouble will it be to find it? All grain?I brewed my first batch of beer at home today. I'm doing an imperial IPA with galaxy, citra, chinook, Columbus, cascade, and centennial hops. I'm hoping that it will have lots of big juicy tropical citrus hop flavors. I think the brew went smoothly without a hitch today, but I guess I'll find out in a few weeks. I really enjoyed it doing it and am looking forward to the new hobby.
No. We used liquid malt extract, but also steeped 2 pounds of grains prior to the boil. All grain?I brewed my first batch of beer at home today. Cool. I've done some all extract brews but have never been really pleased with the results. They're drinkable but, frankly, not really all that good. When I do get back into it (sometime soon, I hope), I'm going all grain.No. We used liquid malt extract, but also steeped 2 pounds of grains prior to the boil. All grain?pe)peI brewed my first batch of beer at home today. Yeah, I'm sure we will work our way up to all grain brews eventually. I'm hoping that steeping the grains will be an upgrade over all liquid malt extract brews.Cool. If Munster isn't that far from you, I think it's worth the trip out to the brewery.
