What players have you warmed up/cooled down to in the last month? (1 Viewer)

Sometimes we form a first impression on a player and then through whatever reason we start to change our opinion on that player. As we start heading into fantasy draft season what players who you were bearish on this time last month are you now bullish on?

My entrey into this conversation would be Jamaal Charles. While I do think Thomas Jones was not brought on board to be a wallflower, I do think there is opportunity there for Charles to hit 240-250 carries at a 5+ YPC clip with an opportunity to catch 50 passes. Where as I has him pegged for 1200-1300 YFS about a month ago, that number in my mind now might be as high as 1600-1700.

Any others players out there where your perception has changed recently?

I have started to warm to Charles a bit as well. I think he either puts up a top 5-10 year and really proves a bargain at his ADP or he pulls a Steve Slaton and falls off the map. I don't see much in between for him. I would lean more towards a top 10 year at this point. Shonn Greene was a guy that a month ago I would not even consider at his ADP. I still think he is an average talent, but the more I look at the situation I don't see how he doesn't get force fed the opportunity to be a highly productive back this year. The more I look at Reggie Wayne the more convinced I am that his stats continue to will decline this year. I am a believer in Garcon's talent, and I think he takes a bigger piece of the pie this year.

I have been really high on Devin Aromashodu but have had to cool my jets a little until I see how things shake out in preseason with Martz and the WR crew.....I think he is a better WR than Hester and is ready to make the leap to being a big time playmaker, but that might not happen in this system....

starting to love me some:

1. Stafford

2. Cutler (i think he gets past the prima dona attitude, buys in to the system and has a monster year) and

3. Michael Turner where I think you can get him this year

Starting to warm up a bit more on Portis. He's got some wear and tear, but so does LJ - and I don't think that Portis is just going to let LJ take the job from him.

The more I look at Ryan Grant in the 2nd round the more I like him. Same for Romo in the 3rd. I'm also loving Frank Gore this year, and think the #5 slot is underrated in non-ppr redrafts this year because of him.

Cooling on Mendenhall, Beanie and Forsett.

I'm with the Charles crowd here. I have the option of keeping him or Cedric Benson and have changed my mind a couple times. At this moment, I'm pretty warmed up to Charles though.

Every year about this time, I get a severe distaste in mouth, almost as if I threw up a bit, as I know the annual ritual of the Brett Farve saga will come. Here we are in late July and sure as rain, the ritual is in full form.

Other warming up notables for me...Cutler and Romo.

Warming up to Charles as well. A month ago, I didn't think that he would get over 220 carries......now I think he's a good bet for 250+carries as well as 50 receptions......if he gets a good chunk of goalline love, you could see 1700 total yards and 10-12 TDs......a steal in round 2.

Obviously warming up to Palmer with TO's signing. No reason to sign him if CIN was going to just play smash-mouth football. They'll get the ball to TO as well as Ochocinco.

Also warming up to Jason Campbell.....I think OAK's offense will be much improved, and at QB25 ADP, has a great chance to finish in the teens. Applies for leagues that can start or require 2QBs.

Warming up to Steve Smith of CAR, knowing that I can probably get him a round or 2 later.

Soured on Beanie Wells. I can't see him putting up a big season with Leinart sucking at QB. AZ's defense won't be as good, so I can see AZ playing from behind.....so I think they'll have Hightower playing in those situations.

Warmed -

Calvin Johnson (for some reason starting to get on board with Stafford/Lions a little bit. think he can hit where he was at 2 yrs ago)

Carson Palmer (I don't love TO, but he's yet another weapon the Bengals have added for Palmer this winter. Thinking they might throw more than last yr. High QB2/Low QB1 where I had him at just an average QB2.)

Cooled - still will draft just not as high as I would have a month ago

Dallas Clark (lot of weapons, don't want to pay after his career year.)

Sidney Rice (a little concerned about his injuries, Favre fiasco again, and another team with a lot of weapons, especially if Harvin gets a couple more touches)

I'm a little cooler on Mendenhall. I think the o-line has taken a hit.
I am the opposite here. I think that Mendenhall is going to drop quite a bit from where his ADP was in the summer due to the OL injury and the lack of Roethlisberger for a few games. I am probably buying in the mid second. :excited:spelling edit

I've always loved watching SJax play, but reading the discussion here I am probably going to pass on him at his current ADP. I'm not drafting any time soon so I reserve the right to change this stance, but I've started leaning away from him. I just wish he'd get traded...
Interesting through the debates on here, I have solidified him as a good pick at 7.WarmedCalvin JohnsonShonn Green - still probably going to high for me to draft him thoughMontario Hardesty - see Shonn GreenWes Welker - See Montario HardestyMichael CrabtreeCooledS. Portis - Warming up to be a potential steal if he can be had late and get the majority of the carries

Warmed:

John Carlson / Heath Miller - No way these guys will compete for top TE spot but researching Spotlight and other threads have me convinced that at their current ADP of 12th round they can be more than servicable as a starter while enabling massive RB/WR stockpiling in the middle rounds.

HAkeem Nicks - Solid WR2 with tons of upside within a quality offense at a pretty reasonable mid-5th round price.

Cooled:

Mendenhall

Moreno

S. Greene

Not saying they won't have decent seasons but still a lot of question marks to be spending on average a 2nd rounder vs. guys that can be had (sometimes much) later.

Warmed:

Beanie Wells (from whom I expect a colossal breakout year)

Calvin Johnson (young athletic phenom who finally has a lazer-armed QB with nerve launching him the ball)

Matthew Stafford (he flashed brilliance in his rookie campaign and I expect him to make a quantum leap in his sophomore year)

Dez Bryant (a prodigious talent who'll probably make quick work of usurping the #2 WR role from Roy Williams)

Mike Williams (dynamic talent with the requisite physical tools to blossom into a true #1 WR, scarce competition for targets)

Matt Ryan (a true cerebral QB, from whom I expect a huge bounce-back season)

Cooled:

Knowshon Moreno (loss of Marshall will allow defenses to lock their lazer focus on Moreno. Does he possess the elite skill set to ascend to greatness despite this extra defensive attention? I'll let someone else take the gamble)

Steven Jackson (rookie QB, lingering back issues?)

Reggie Wayne (he's reputedly slowing down, and I see the gamebreaker Pierre Garcon emerging as a potentially ultra-productive #2 at his expense)
