What's happening with Kelce? (1 Viewer)

I think hes getting older and cannot dominate the way he did. Baltimore in week 1 is easy to see. Baltimore is a top D.

Week 2 I think its more a case of the ball was being spread around and Mahomes didnt need to checkdown that often.

I think hes still a top 10 TE. maybe top 5. but I think his days as a top 3 TE are over. dude is 34 and turns 35 here in about a month. its just his time as a top TE might finally be over.

he can recover still and I think it would be foolish to drop him, but you need to lower your expectations for him moving forward.

I haven't followed his off-season more than I've been forced to, but didn't he consider retirement?

The drop-off was noticeable last season. Look at his stats down the stretch. Either he wore down BIG TIME, or KCC minimized his involvement (purposely) to have something in the tank for the play-offs (as needed).

Long way of saying that he has picked up in 2024 the way he finished in 2023 (reg season)

35 years old, they finally have some other reliable options so they don't have to force feed him anymore, and Mahomes isn't exactly lighting it up for 400yds often anymore either (151 passing yds this week).

KC offense has really slowed down as a whole since about half way through last year, but the defense has really picked things up and started helping.

I have one dynasty league where I have him, Kincaid, Bowers, and Engram...not sure I'll be starting him other than bye weeks for the other guys. :kicksrock:

He feels like a blank space in my lineup. I knew he would be trouble this season.
Never in my wildest dreams would I have predicted he would have scored this low after 2 games. If we think back to December of the points he was putting up, its hard not to see improvements in the coming weeks.
I guess for KC these are really only champagne problems as long as they keep winning.

Yep, and in the meantime, Kelce owners will still be down bad crying at the gym.

Did the Kelce thread get deleted or something?
Nope

I think he can have top 10 or top 5 weeks but I don't necessarily think he is a top 5 Fantasy TE anymore. Top 10 is possible but he hasn't shown it thus far. The next week or two will be telling with Pacheco out and KC likely having to throw the ball more.

You could probably still find a buyer for Kelce. Maybe not much, but better than nothing.

This.

Him and Andrews are fading out but still probably the lower end of the top 10. Laporta isn't doing any better, and Kincaid and Ferguson and Engram certainly aren't either.

Yeah he looks very slow, old and not wanting to get hit.

He will pull out some vintage games…..but we may not even see that till the Post Season.

It was a helluva run. HOF.

This is it for him IMO. One last dance….then he will make some little Travis’s and little Taylors.
