Sounds like someone hasnt sat down with big plate of plain tater tots. Team Potato!!!!! Ha haDoes everyone understand that none of these are appealing by themselves?
The only thing that makes any of these great is what you put on them ... or cook them with.
Would anyone eat pasta / noodles without sauce? ... or butter? ... or in a broth with some flavor?
Could you eat a baked potato dry and call it delicious? ... mashed potato is good because butter / cream. A french fry or potato chip is only good because of the oil it is cooked in and salted.
Rice? Edible as a side dish or when seasoned. Plain rice is blah.
Maybe bread? I love a good rye or sourdough ... but much less without butter. Restaurant bread without oil and parmesan? Pizza crust without sauce & cheese?
"I like bread because Smash Burgers and Pizza"
"I like rice because Pulled Pork"
"I like noodles because Lasagna"
