Why do I have a 'weird' feeling Best will explode today? (1 Viewer)

Just a gut feeling, but it seems like with his banged up shoulder and sore toe, not to mention a game coming up on Thursday and rumors floating that the Lions might limit his time played is going to equal a huge game.

I have him in 3 leagues and at this time I have him sitting in all 3 with solid choices (fred jackson in two and Blount in another) but I'm really thinking of going with him so I don't miss out on one of those 'injured' stars exploding.

I swear that happens whenever I sit someone.

Except the nature of his primary injury (turf toe) is one that never heals properly when you don't take any weeks off.

The sore shoulder is no big deal to me, friggin everybody is hurting by Week 11. Its sore; BFD.

Back to your thread title (which doesn't match the gist of your text) - NFW he goes off. He has not shown any explosiveness since Week 2. Get him in space when healthy and he is dynamite. Get him in space now (even hobbled) he can make a play - not a take it to the house from anywhere on the field play, but he'll get something. But most weeks, it has been same-o same-o. Dude leads the league in one yard carries in part because his line is below average, and in part because of (ahem) curious play calling.

I could see the Lions winning today. Other than last week's putrid effort (understandably flat after losing Stafford and a game to the Jets they had won), they have been competitive every week. Except for the Vikings game, they have had a chance to win in the second half of every single game.

That said, Best having a monster game is nothing but a pipe dream, and if you really think that you are suffering from gambler's fallacy.

 
Jahvid Best - RB - Lions

Jahvid Best is playing very sparingly against the Cowboys Sunday after apparently aggravating his turf toe injuries.

Maurice Morris got the first carry of the game, and fullback Jerome Felton is working in as a tailback. Best had three touches and was then spotted getting his toe re-taped. He has not re-entered the game and is on the sideline with his helmet off.

This is shaping up to be the single worst fantasy call I've ever seen. I have Best going in one league but at this point I'm rooting against him. I'd rather see history made here in this thread.

Well... ok.. bad call... BUT, he's still scoring 2 more points than my opponents runningback so far in my ppr league! (mcfadden).Granted it won't stay that way, but I'm trying to justify my awful prediction. Glad I only started him in one out of 3. I literally put him in seconds before the deadline in hopes my 'gut' was right. :sadbanana:

Why? Best is not that good. Best was a unproven rookie that had a good first couple of games. Be sick if a great player is not performing. I have watched every play by the Lions this year. Best should be your typical third down RB..thats it. Best does not have any power at all, he gets blown up everytime he runs between the tackles.
 
I just cut him. BOOM. Gone. I'm done with this turd. No more contemplating putting him in every Sunday, deciding to do so, and then getting screwed YET AGAIN. Now he will be someone elses problem.

Had high hopes for the kid, it happens.
 
I almost listened to MoPs start/sit thread... but couldnt do it.

LBlount was in red

JBest was in green

He tempted me, but I knew better. Best needs to be allowed to get 100% healthy.
