Had a ton of wrong routes last year which killed Eli - the easier system should help, but he is either/both of not doing his homework / not a rocket scientist. In addition, there have been murmurs about work ethic.

Physically I believe he can be a solid player especially with the other weapons the Giants have. However, I don't believe the Giant's would have invested a top 12 pick on the position if he really had the faith of the coaching and management staffs.

2. Routes - He absolutely was a mess running routes and memorizing the system last year. Is that laziness? Lack of intelligence? Lack of dedication? I don't know... but these are not isolated comments. It's a refrain.

3. Of course he can be a solid contributor. I said he has the talent. BUT, if he doesn't improve his routes and/or dedication he won't ever be even that.

Rueben Randle says the Giants' new offensive staff has approached him about adding slot receiver snaps to his repertoire.

"They were talking to me about coming in on the inside," Randle said, "using my big body in the seams. Whatever they need me to do, Ill do it." Comments like these do not help it any either. Every time someone doesnt like what someone says it becomes a mess just like this thread because they have to compare manhood sizes. I'm not his biggest fan but he's got really good upside for his current price. I question whether he and Manning will put in the work to get on the same page (or even same book). There's no denying his physical talent. I do agree the rope isn't long for him if the miscommunications continue between him and Manning in 2014. He does have one big thing going for him being the only WR with size.

Giants WRs coach Sean Ryan says the team saw a more focused Rueben Randle during the spring.
"For me, the battle with him is consistency, and I think he's addressed it in this offseason in the way he approaches his job," Ryan said. "I've seen a difference in his seriousness towards his work. This spring, I thought he was locked in." The switch to a simpler offensive system that doesn't rely as heavily on option routes should also help Randle. He's going to line up all over the field, even in the slot. Entering his third year, Randle is oozing with WR2 upside.

Randle "seems the favorite to start" over rookie Odell Beckham. The Giants are expected to essentially run a base three-wide offense under new OC Ben McAdoo, but "starting" in two-wide formations could mean the difference between playing 95 percent of the snaps, and 65-70. It's certainly worth noting. Beckham missed time during OTAs with a hamstring issue, giving Randle an edge.

Every Giants WR has had communication/route running issues with Eli the past few years. I think we'll see that all cleared up with McAdoo's offense

Well, when Eli's throwing 20 feet above them it's hard to tell.

Seriously, the new system should help, a lot, but Randle was definitely one of if not the worst offended from the WRs.

He just got 41 on limited snaps and passes throw to him? This is why we cant have good conversations, logic is thrown completely out the window because you own Beckham.

Lafell played for a different team and had more targets as a main option in Carolina and only caught 8 more passes in his 4th season. Again, logic, out the window.

Eli sucked last year mostly, so we will just have to sit tight and watch this year how well or bad Randle does. I'm reading that Randle is doing very well in the OTAs and has worked very hard on his route running in the off-season.

Huh? What is so different for Reuben this year? Same grumpy hc, same crappy online, same Victor Cruz. If anything his situation got worse when they drafted a Wr despite glaring needs on the online and plenty of lineman with talent available. And this in a very deep wr class. i am open minded. But sometimes you have to cut bait. I don't see anything that convinces me that Reuben Randell is a top 30 wideout in the NFL. Nothing he has done has been above average. He's not the best option on his own team. He's not in the top 6 in his own division. He has an old coach and an aging Qb. The Nfl is brimming with reliever talent all of a sudden. I'd rather Allen Robinson or Martavis Bryant at this point in dynasty.

He doesnt have to be a Top 30 WR to have value. He isnt even being drafted as one since he is being taken as WR 40-45. This is the problem, everyone has to talk about every player like they have to be elite to have value.

Randle has WR2 upside at WR4 value, whats not to like? Some people over think this game a little too much.

From the way it sounded from OTA reports, Beckham will be the #2. In 3WR sets Randle and Beckham will be on the outside and Cruz in the slot. Need to see how he does and is used in the new offense. Is he a YAC type? He should benefit from the Giants having probably the worst group of TEs in the NFL.
