Wildcard Game Thread - Baltimore Ravens at Miami Dolphins (1 Viewer)

MVP

Time to note that Leonhard is having a heckuva game. His ability to step into this defense when Landry went down and play the run and do a lot of blitzing has allowed Reed to play centerfield as only he can do.

Reed wasn't getting any attention on the sidelines but Holy Cow, the ratbirds NEED him on D.

He's played hurt all year but this team can't afford to lose anyone else to injury. They've already lost 4 starters this season.

I don't think this is over quite yet. Dolphins have moved the ball real well the last two drives.

As I type this the Ravens block the extra point...

Brown is going to blow up in '09. He's their best back by a mile. They'll take the chains off next season & let him roll. He's back.

If the Ravens commit to the run and start chewing up clock like they have all year, yeah - it's over.

I hope they just enjoy whatever he does in 2009, I think that is year 5...might be the last year of his contract too...I hope Miami does not resign Ronnie although I am sure I am in the minority of Miamifans on this. I just don't want them to lock up big dollars on any RB in Miami.

The Ravens Oline needs to man-up a little bit and earn their backs a few first downs, another three and out and miami has a shot to get back into this game. The Ravens need one of those midseason, 8-10 minute drives where they simple break the will of the D. The Ravens O has been handed this game by the D, they need to hold up their end.

Ronnie Brown:2009 - $3.6M2010 - $5.0M (but a voidable year)2011 - Free Agent

Interesting calls by Cam there, going for the jugular instead of trying to grind out some first downs. I hope they're not relying too much on the D, Miami's no huddle is giving them some problems, much like the Stillers did this year.

Im not sure I agree with the play calling on that series. Your up 11 get your first downs and keep the clock rolling. Its still two touchdowns, why not keep playing ball possession there?

Probably because everyone thought they would, and it hasn't been working.

Again, they tried just picking up first downs the previous two drives and that didn't work either.

Ugh, Ginn just dropped it. That play would've been huge too, there was all kinds of running room out front. Aggghghghghalksdjflas

Even though they have some great players on defense, the Ravens are mostly a team of schemes and deception. More than one beaten QB this year has commented that it took 2 and a half quarters to figure things out but then they got rolling a little. You could make the argument that both Pittsburgh games were like that.

Man, if Ginn can just hold onto the ball he might've scored on that end around. Probably would've gotten about 15 yards at worst.

I don't get it. For 10 years Subway has been adverised as diet food and now they say they are belt busters. What gives.

Somebody remind me why McClain has been getting the rock all year even when McGahee was healthy?

If McClain gets that last carry, he gets 3 yards.

Not necessarily so. Willis made a great move at the point of attack and broke a tackle in the secondary but lacked the closing speed to finish. He's still not right and that's why McClain has been so important this season.

5 Turnovers and Ted Ginn being awful and we were still in this game with 7 minutes to go.

Ugh.
