Will That Dog Hunt? 2023 Redraft Version (win-now dynasty ok, too) (1 Viewer)

What’s Houston gonna score on average this year? Low 20s
I don’t care what they score or how many games they win - all I care about is the magical foozeball when Pierce gets 20 touches a game.
;)
Agreed. So 900-1200 yards. The tds are what will set him apart. Good or bad. He didn’t fall to me in either of my drafts.
My first share of him in 6 redrafts.

I can’t believe I have so many leagues again. I was down to 3. It was so relaxing.

The conflicts are already maddening week 1.

12 team, keep up to 4, half ppr (1.0 ppr for TEs), all TDs 6pts
start qb, 2rb, 2wr, te, rb/wr flex, rb/wr/te flex, k, d

qb - Allen, Richardson
rb - Barkley, Ekeler, Dobbins, Akers, Spears, K. Miller
wr - Hopkins, Dotson, Jeudy, Collins, Pierce
te - Kincaid, I. Smith
k - Dicker
d - Pats

Obv wr's are weak, just hope qb's & rb's are strong enough to overcome or that I can find someone on the ww.

Also 12 team, 1.0 ppr, all TDs 6pts
start qb, 2rb, 2wr, te, rb/wr flex, k, d

qb - Herbert, Richardson
rb - B. Robinson, Stevenson, Gibbs, Bigsby, Spears
wr - Lockett, Dotson, Addison, Toney
te - Goedert
k - Dicker
d - Pats

Again with the weak WRs, I'm sensing a theme here. It actually was just how the draft was falling, wr's were going like crazy, so I zagged. And zagged some more.

Thanks!

10 team league PPR redraft: 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1DEF, 2FLX (RB/WR/TE - not SF)

QB: Watson, Goff

RB: Bijan, A. Jones, J. Cook, Charbonnet, R. Johnson, Bigsby, E. Hull, C. Brown

WR: ARSB, Waddle, London, Dotson, E. Moore, Mingo, J. Ross, J. Hyatt

TE: Andrews

DEF: Broncos

TIA

WRs are a little rough, but I like the team everywhere else. Should hunt, but you need a little luck with your TEs.

Same theme, but it’s a borderline hunter. The WRs ok 1-2, though when TMc comes back Dotson takes a hit. You’re gonna need one of Toney or Addison to step up Bigtime to truly hunt.

Draft Slot #2 (snake):

1. CMC
2. ARSB
3. Olave
4. James Cook
5. Hockenson
6. Khalil Herbert
7. Cousins
8. Mostert
9. Gabe Davis
10. Elijah Mitchell
11. Jaylen Warren
12. Doubs
13. Was Def
14. McManus

Round 5 was my first real dilemma. I had Hockenson an TLaw as the last of those tiers in the start 1 positions. I decided on Hock because I thought there was a bigger drop off there than between TLaw and Cousins (I think Cousins is in line for a huge year as I think Minny will be in a bunch of shootouts).

I think its solid for a 14 teamer

5. Andrews
6. J Herbert
7. Ayiuk

Shocked that Andrews lasted until the 5th. Someone took Waller before Andrews. It's also a league with a 5 RB max and 6 WR max so that is the reason for 2 TE and 2QB at this point. I went with bui upside plays hoping they hit for trade value. Also thought Jefferson in the 16th was nice value with the Kupp uncertainty.

I guess I drafted the all 2021 fantasy team in an orphan keeper.

Lost Jahmyr Gibbs in a bidding war that was absolutely asinine. Then got caught in a bid up move on Tee Higgins and panick grabbed Cooper Kupp because I thought I could still have Davante Adams and Ceedee Lamb.

Genuinely uncertain whether this dog hunts.

10-team half-PPR superflex with extended starting lineups - 1 QB / 2 RB / 3 WR / 1 TE / 1 WR-TE / 1 RB-WR-TE / 1 SFX / 1 DST + 7 bench, 0.04/PY and 4PTD. From the 2-hole:

WR: Diggs, Lockett, Dotson, M. Thomas, Lazard, Meyers
TE: Freiermuth

Longtime family league. 0.5 PPR, 6pt passing TDs. It had long been a 12-teamer, but I realized once the draft had already started (!) that we had expanded to 14

I think you did great. Love your QB and RBs. You're a little thin at WR but Lockett and Dotson are great picks with Diggs.

Redraft .5 PPR and QB's get 4 per passing TD. QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, Flex, TE, K, DST. Drafted 6th with 3RR.

QB - Fields
RB - Ekeler, JaVonte Williams, Herbert, Warren, Spears
WR - AJ Brown, Olave, London, Dotson, Addison
TE - Hockenson
K - Sanders
DEF - Ravens

12 team half ppr and half pp first down. Had the 2nd pick. Probably the earliest I’ve ever chosen a QB in this league, or ever, after having Brady last season (barf).

QB - Mahomes, Richardson
WR - DeVonta Smith, Christian Watson, Jordan Addison, MT, Jameson
RB - CMC, Akers, Gibson, Achane, Mitchell
TE - Waller, Ferguson

Such a great idea for a thread, and one I remember from years past.
I just had my 2nd draft last night, and I will post that hunt/not hunt roster tonight or tomorrow.

Appreciate the responses, and as interesting as this is right now, it's going to be far more interesting near the end of fantasy season.

Two redrafts that I'm not super happy about.

A very likely Hunter. You’re stacked everywhere but WR, and Diggs helps.

If Thomas is even a 80% of his former self you won’t have to worry about it.

All those flex positions makes your bench look thin though.

I'm pretty high on Rachaad White (Hall & Robinson were my keepers for a total of $41). I didn't have much to run with on this team, but am hoping to weather the storm until the roster is at full strength.

Sorry. Posted late last night. 12 Teams.

I slept on this team a bit and am happy with it. It’s just so thin. But then again… so are many of the other teams. And I always need to remember that a bit of luck and waivers goes a long way.

Nope, that's it. Short benches (only 7). We have to draft a 2nd PK & D, but only have to roster them until week 4. Only have to play 1 RB, so if some of our RBs flame out, we'll run 2QBs or 4 WRs.

Purdy is my second QB to flex. I feel I got him at pretty good value to our with Cousins and he’s got offensive weapons.

You’d know more about him than I do as a Niners fan!

Mayfield is just a bench stash and bye week option for dirt cheap. I’ve been a co-owner in this league for a few years (though I’ve never drafted the team) and I’ve seen how hard it is to find a QB if one goes down, or fill in a bye week.

Drafted from the #7 Slot:
  1. Diggs

  5. Godwin
  6. Lawrence

  8. K. Herbert

  12. K. Toney
  13. V. Jefferson
  14. Kyler
  15. Wash Def
  16. Zeurlein

I got sniped a few times. For my 2nd pick I was thinking ARSB or AJ Brown would make it back and they both were gone. I settled for Olave. In round 4 I was planning on Stevenson, Hockenson, or Ridley and they all were taken so settled on Cook (who I think will have a big year). QB's went fast and furious in round 3 and 4 but there were still a few of the last tier available so I was happy to wait and pulled the trigger on Lawrence in the 6th as he was the last of that tier. I thought I was sitting pretty for Goedert in the 7th and he was sniped the pick before me so I shifted to Ayiuk (took him over Dotson/Muth as I thought one would make it back....they didn't). Decided to roll the dice on Kincaid and Chiggy and see which one flourishes. Took Kyler to shift to IL and plan to pick up a RB (Spears at the moment).

Not too happy with this draft but if some of the young guys perform as predicted it should be fine. Has upside but a lot of downside too.

Bit thin at WR, and RB

Looks like you went Barkley ~> Wilson but who was your 3rd pick?

Could hunt. Might hunt. I don’t see Addison as a viable WR3 if he’s the WR3, 4th in targets, but that could change.

Gonna need some luck to be a huntin dog.

You’d know more about him than I do as a Niners fan!
Somehow I missed him in your lineup. I actually don’t love him as a SF QB2. He basically put up Garrapoloian numbers. He’s more exciting, does more PA rollout improv stuff, but while he has a relatively safe floor his ceiling is pretty low. Lots of CMC & Deebow runs, & good defense, plus whatever other Shanahanigans kinda caps Purdy’s upside.

He’s more exciting, does more PA rollout improv stuff, but while he has a relatively safe floor his ceiling is pretty low. Lots of CMC & Deebow runs, & good defense, plus whatever other Shanahanigans kinda caps Purdy’s upside.
Yeah, I was kind of hog tied at that point in the draft and HAD to have a second QB, and guys like D Jones, Goff, Carr, Prescott, were going for dollar figures upward of anything I'd planned/budgeted for. So I just have to deal with him and hope he stays upright and starting.

ESPN 12 Team League, PPR, Q/R/R/W/W/W/TE/F/K/DEF

Drafted from the #7 Slot:
  1. Diggs
  2. Olave
  3. Gibbs
  4. Cook
  5. Godwin
  6. Lawrence
  7. Ayiuk
  8. K. Herbert
  9. Mostert
  10. Kincaid
  11. Chiggy
  12. K. Toney
  13. V. Jefferson
  14. Kyler
  15. Wash Def

Hunts, but I’d like it more for a dynasty start-up. :p
For sure. I never quite like my teams drafting in the middle. This is a prime example of that. It just seems disjointed and all over the place. No real flow to it. Just guys plucked out of the sky.

Two redrafts that I'm not super happy about.

#1: 12 team QB/RB/WR/TE/FLEX/FLEX/IDP/IDP/IDP (IDP is tackle heavy)

Fields, Watson
CMC, J Cook, Mostert, AJ Dillon
Adams, K Allen, Lockett, M Thomas
Andrews
AUbrey
Burns, Queen, Holcomb
This team hunts so long as Adams, Lockett & Allen start vertical.

You definitely went shopping at the geriatric home for busted down great WR.

But at least you have super reliable Michael Thoma-oh, wait.

Still - I like this team a lot right now.
#2: 12 team QB/RB/RB/WR/WR/TE/FLEX/DEF/K

J Allen, Watson
Kamara, Pacheco, Mostert, Monty, Roschon
Tyreek, Olave, Jeudy, N Collins, KJ Osborn
Hockenson
DAL
Koo
That’s a rough, rough running back room. I think it could hunt, but you’ll need a lot of luck. Allen/Hill/Olave/Hock is going to keep you competitive. If Jeudy can come back and have that breakout season, you’ll hunt.

Two leagues with same scoring and starting reqs
  • (Start 1QB, 1RB, 1WR, 1TE, 3 Flex (RB,WR,TE), 1K, 1D)
  • .5 ppr, 1per 25 pass, 1 per 10 rush/rcv, 4 pt pass tds, 6 pt rush/rcv. Bonus 2 pts for tds over 40, 2 point bonus for 400 yd passing games or 200 yd rush or rcv games

League 1 (10 teams):
QB - Hurts
RB - Barkley, Pierce, J Cook, Mostert, Perine
WR - Kupp, ASB, M Williams, B Cooks, E Moore (May drop him for Commanders D)
TE - Freiermuth, Kinkaid
K - Tucker
D - Philly Philly

League 2 (12 teams):
QB - Hurts, Geno
RB - Jacobs, Pierce, R White, Brian Robinson, Achane
WR - Tyreek, Olave, Kirk, Jeudy, Renfrow
TE - Hockenson
K - Gay
D - Pats, Seattle (for week 1 play but may grab the jags or vikings for week 1 play)

#2 was my first attempt at a no RB draft. I don't think I'll be doing that again!

I don't have the stomach for it. My best drafts (IMO) are where I go "hero" RB, or at least take 2 in the 1st 3 and then stack up on RB3 types.

My "hero" RB draft my 1st 6 picks went Eke, Adams, Higgins, Jeudy (dammit) LJax, J.Cook

I still really like that team. It's 1 QB, PPR, IDP, and I do have Nico Collins, Bateman, and Cooks on the bench, so I should be able to survive Judy's presumed absence/slow start. But I kinda do wish I'd taken a dead zone RB there.

12 team Auction 1qB/2RB/3WR/1Flex/1TE

Allen/Lawerence

Bijan/Herbert/perine/mitchell/warrenn/penny/gainwell

Wilson/Waddle/C Watson/Mclaurin/London

Waller

A guy in my league accidentaly took Allen & Jackson and was trying to flip one-- I jumped in and traded james cook straight up for allen---> felt like I had to do that
