Adam Thielen (hamstring) is optimistic he will be able to suit up against the Redskins on Thursday.

He joins coach Mike Zimmer in saying he might play just four days after going down in Detroit. Thielen said he's gotten "quite a bit better." We are still skeptical he will play. The Vikings need Thielen healthy for the stretch run, and they won't need him to beat the pathetic Redskins on a short week at home.

Just traded for the guy on Saturday night and what happens, yup gets hurt.  I've had the worst luck with this particular team (Barkley, David Johnson, Adams) so it's not all too shocking

I'm guessing they sit him on the short week, considering the opponent.  

Excited for the future with this guy on my dynasty team though.  Makes for a nice WR2 with Adams and Sutton along for the ride.

This could be one of those David Johnson scenario this past weekend. They might say he's good to go when Thursday night comes, plays two snaps, nope....no go...let's rest him.....and we are all crying again....

Would be shocked if he plays this week and is effective.  Just bench him and don't think twice about it.

As expected. The short week was too much to overcome, but Thielen's strain isn't believed to be severe. The Vikings promoted WR Davion Davis from the practice squad. Olabisi Johnson and Laquon Treadwell will soak up the snaps behind Stefon Diggs, with Johnson being the bigger beneficiary in an offense that doesn't run a ton of three-wide sets.

Speaking after the Vikings' Week 8 win over the Redskins, coach Mike Zimmer said he expected Adam Thielen (hamstring) back for Week 9.

That has been the expectation all along, as Thielen came close to suiting up for tonight's short-week matchup. The Vikes probably ultimately made the calculation that they could handle Washington without their No. 1 wideout, which was indeed true. They will be venturing to Kansas City for Week 9. Provided Patrick Mahomes is under center for the Chiefs, Thielen will be a WR1 for a probable shootout.

Adam Thielen (hamstring) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

It's a step in the right direction after Thielen was unable to practice prior to being ruled out for Minnesota's Week 8 matchup against Washington. For what it's worth, coach Mike Zimmer said last week that he expected Thielen back on the field for Week 9. Fire him up as a confident WR1 if active in a contest that should only see further fireworks if Patrick Mahomes (knee) suits up.

Adam Thielen (hamstring) remained limited at Thursday's practice.

Thielen had little chance of suiting up last week with the Vikings playing on Thursday night but based on his practice participation the past two days, we'd expect him back for Sunday's game in Kansas City. Going against a vulnerable Chiefs secondary, Thielen and teammate Stefon Diggs are both worry of WR1 consideration.

The Vikings want to work out Thielen pre-game before make a decision on his status. Thielen had a sleeve on his leg during his limited practice week and isn't a lock to return. He's been pushing to play, but the Vikings may not want to risk a setback. Thielen won't be 100 percent if he suits up.

Yes that.  But I always think those GTD especially related to hamstrings and quads are at risk of re-aggravating and leaving the game at any time.

Yeah it seems to me that if it's really a game time decision that means you should probably error on the side of longer term health. You're not helping the team by going out there and playing at 80% effectiveness while risking a very costly reinjury.  I definitely question the risk/benefit analysis in these situations.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Adam Thielen (hamstring) is expected to play in Week 9 against the Chiefs.

The Vikings will still presumably workout Thielen pre-game to test his hamstring in the mid-40s temperature of Arrowhead. Assuming he's made active, fantasy players should slide him in as a low-end WR1 behind Stefon Diggs. Patrick Mahomes' (knee, questionable) pending availability would only enhance Thielen's ceiling if all involved are healthy.

Adam Thielen re-injured his hamstring in the first quarter of Week 9 against the Chiefs and is done for the day.

According to FOX sideline reporter Pam Oliver, Thielen told teammates "I'm done" despite the Vikings calling him questionable to return to action. Prior to leaving, Thielen didn't catch a pass on one target. On that target, he had to twist back to a ball, which may have been when he pulled the hammy again. Thielen should be considered week to week. Laquon Treadwell and Olabisi Johnson have made plays in his absence against Kansas City.

Coach Mike Zimmer when discussing Adam Thielen (hamstring) said, "Whenever the doctor says he's ready to play, he's ready."

Thielen played just seven snaps and saw one target before exiting the Vikings' Week 9 loss against the Chiefs. He should be considered very questionable for Sunday night's primetime matchup against the Cowboys. Each of Bisi Johnson (83% snaps), Laquon Treadwell (28%) and backup TE Irv Smith (61%) were more involved than usual with Thielen sidelined. Johnson probably offers the highest floor for fantasy purposes as long as Thielen is out.

NFL.com's Tom Pelissero reports Adam Thielen (hamstring) is expected to miss Week 10 against the Cowboys.

Pelissero's source claims Thielen's injury is "no worse after his brief appearance in Kansas City." That, of course, is hard to believe considering it was an aggravation and he's now already being rumored as out for another game. The Vikings' bye is in Week 12. There's a non-zero percent chance we don't see Thielen until afterward, but that would be extreme.

I know it is tough to do but he screwed me this week so it is tough to do. Maybe if he practices in full the week prior to that game I would get tempted.

Coach Mike Zimmer said Adam Thielen's latest hamstring aggravation isn't believed to be a long-term issue.

Thielen is expected to miss this week's Sunday night game against the Cowboys, but it sounds like he could again return after missing just one game. Thielen tried to play through it last week against the Chiefs but ended up aggravating it on the first drive and missed the rest of the day. For now, Thielen owners just need to sit tight and hope he gets right for Week 11 against the Broncos. The good news is the Vikings have a Week 12 bye.

Thielen isn't expected to suit up for Sunday night after re-aggravating his hamstring in Minnesota's Week 9 loss to the Chiefs. Coach Mike Zimmer expressed some optimism Minnesota's ailing wideout would return in Week 11 against the Broncos, but his availability in that one is also a true question mark with the Vikings hitting their bye the following Sunday. No matter what happens in the coming weeks, Thielen should return to full health by Week 13 in Seattle.

Thielen lasted just seven snaps in Week 9 and will assuredly be ruled out when final injury reports are released later today. He's week to week with his hamstring injury. Complementary receivers Olabisi Johnson and Laquon Treadwell should see added reps with Thielen sidelined Sunday night in Dallas.
