WR Donnie Avery STL (1 Viewer)

For those not following the Pats/Rams, Donnie Avery injured his knee and was carted off. He could not put any weight on it and it looks serious. Be forewarned if drafting in the near future.

He seemed to do it to himself when trying to catch a pass. No knee on helmet or anything like that. He twisted his body inward to look back to the pass and in the process his right knee seemed to wobble as it was planted. Didn't look pretty. He immediately went down and grabbed his knee. Was down for a few minutes before being carted off.

stinks, he was available so late and for his ADP offered tremendous potential to be THE sleeper as 150th player off the board

he made some decent plays tonight, with Bradford playing well Avery was moving up my draft board. It didn't look good. really too bad

Do we bump up L. Robinson? Someone has to catch the passes, don't they? :lmao:

just drafted him about 6 hours ago in the 16th round in a 12 team league....now I can team him up on my bench with S Rice....

Well what is the difference if it was week 1 or now?Injuries happen all the time whether it is preseason, regular season practice etc. These players, coaches and teams need the reps and I don't understand blaming any of it on preseason. Now I happen to think there should only be 2 preseason games, but I don't think blaming injury on preseason is going to make it better.

Besides Avery and Bradford, how does the pool think this affects Jackson, the only starting fantasy option on the Rams for most leagues.

Marty Gilyard... = Avery Lite...I'm betting that if Avery's finished, Gilyard sees decent action in his rookie season .
They don't have much else and it's not like they're going to win anything this season. Might as well throw him out there.Robinson could be decent for a while. He's also extremely brittle though.

Literally traded him this morning in a keep 15. To my brother. He is going to be pissed.

Also traded him in my dynasty a few months ago.

I think Gibson benefits here. No fantasy value but he's going to start.
True. The one thing he gets is opportunity. He is a pretty raw player so experience is a must. There could be value at some point, I've had him stashed since the day Philly traded him to the rams.
I like him a lot. He has a way of getting bad balls and his route running is improving.
I just recieved a text from a player "in the know" and it said "Yea he is gone-ACL". Very reputable source, but we will see tomorrow.

Man its a complete crapshoot who becomes the #1 WR. Nobody knows. Sucks for Avery owners because he was bonafide sleeper.
I don't see how anyone could consider it a crapshoot.. Laurent Robinson seem the obvious #1 on the team. The question would be in regard to the #2WR wouldn't it?

He didn't catch any passes today. I didn't watch the game so I don't know how many targets he got. If today is any indication looks like Bradford will spread the ball around so it seems hard to project who will be the best fantasy WR this year.

I didnt see the game either, but apparently he just missed on at least two deep passes. So he was getting open and Bradford was looking for him. Just didnt hook up tonight...

It's pre-season, Keith Toston and Kennith Darby got the most carries and the mosr yards, you think that means they will unseat the starter? Laurent Robinson is the best healthy WR on the team, and has the most experience.

Daniel Fells, anybody?
I wouldn't trust Fells as a lock. Hoomanawanui and Onobun both made some really nice plays tonight (particularly Hoom). Even if they don't displace Fells at the top of the depth chart, they've been earning valuable playing time.

I picked him up late last year as a flier when he started to get all those targets late in the season in one league I am in. He is currently my WR5 behing Miles Austin, Steve Smith, Hakeem Nicks and Chad Ochocinco, so I can afford him a season or 2 to develop if he shows something this year.

Heres a team who should be trading for vincent jackson.
Not sure I'd go out and spend millions on a guy with questionable dedication for the chance of elevating my team from 4 wins to 5.
Team has a chance to surprise if Bradford had someone who didnt suck to throw to. SJax is a stud and they have some good pieces on the defense. Wr is one of those positions that i would be very hesistant drafting.
