Steelers WR George Pickens told Jason Mackey of the PPG that we still haven't witnessed 100% of his ability. "I'd probably say 80%. I can only go off of how the quarterback plays. I can thrive more. … The yardage showed it. I should have made the Pro Bowl." #Steelers #NFL

That kind of quote doesn’t bode well for long term stability/success. Waaaaay too selfish, “not my fault” kind of crap for me. I’ll be looking to move once he goes off for a win now RB or a future 1st in the 1 league where I roster Pickens.
Pickens has been given a raw deal with the Canada/Pickett disaster....I'd have a chip on my shoulder too.
Steelers are wasting his talent and costing Pickens some big time money with their front office incompetence. Hopefully they are righting the ship, but Arthur Smith isn't exactly Andy Reid and Russel Wilson isn't exactly Patrick Mahomes.
I'm on team Pickens here until the Steelers actually make some good decisions on offense. I consider Pickens a nice buy low where he is certain to find a better situation as he'll eventually be able to leave the Steelers dumpster fire. He is one of the five most talented WRs in the game IMHO.
“Steelers plan on making third-year wide receiver George Pickens more versatile in his formation alignments this season. He confirmed to reporters at minicamp on Wednesday that he’s playing in the slot more than ever in new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith’s system.”

Pretty wild what he accomplished last season with arguably the worst QBs in the league (Pickett, Trubisky, that other dude).
Reminds me of Antonio Brown circa 2013. A 100/1500/10 stat line this season would not surprise me at all. He has the talent to be a top 5 WR with overall #1 upside.
I'm glad most people hate him/Russ/Fields/Steelers and his value is still being suppressed.

Ideal WR3 pick, who gives WR2 (and maybe more) production. Steelers offense in general is underrated I think. Regardless of who is the QB, its better than what they had a year ago, and so is the OC.
If Saturday's preseason game showed anything it is that the Steelers really need a WR2. It's only going to get worse. Why any team wouldn't take Pickens out of the game and take your chances with the others would be malfeasance on their part.
Aiyuk not signing evaporates the Pickens 'dip'. I took him at pick #56 in Rd5 back mid Aug and now and the ADP is at 57. I think climbing to the 4/5 turn is now in store. I even heard experts saying 3rd round if people knew Aiyuk to Steelers was 100% not going to happen, but that is too rich for me.
-I'm also curious if this link works? Maybe folks know why no images can be added to posts? used imgur to get a screenshot of the dip. Here is My crappy graphic.
I see plays in preseason w/ Russ and Fields, he passes the eye test to me. Just gotta worry about Arthur Smith imo.

George Pickens has just 8 catches for 114 yards through 2 games BUT…
He’s had 128 yards and a TD negated by penalties and he’s top 6 in Average Seperation Score both weeks. That was while seeing AJ Terrell on 80% & Pat Surtain II on 71% of his routes. Legit WR1
Nobody will ever look like Josh Gordon. Can't be done. Two unicorns? Pink rainbow sparkle on the hill?
Gordon had a completely jacked but lithe wide receiver's body with a fullback's power and track speed at one point. I just . . . what a waste. He would have gotten thicker as he got older (and he did and it sapped a bit of his speed), but he could have had four years like nobody ever.

What about the 4 big PI penalties he has caused this year. As good as a big first down catch. And the TDs nullified by penalties.
I'm not sure I get these type of posts. He has faced tough defenders/situations this year and has done very well. If you just look at his fantasy points or box score it doesn't paint the whole picture.
Also, this is a Steelers offense that will run the ball and control the game. It isn't an air raid, heavy passing offense. This was expected when they brought in Arthur Smith and have Fields operating the offense. They want to be slow and methodical.
Fantasy production aside - Pickens is doing everything the team is asking him to do and more. He's causing problems for the other teams defenders. He is big and physical and can make the tough catches when needed. My suggestion is, if you own him and aren't happy with the production then trade him away. As for football, Pickens is a really good WR. He is in his 3rd year and only 23 years old and still improving.
Will he be a WR1 in fantasy this year? Probably not with this offense but he is a WR1 on the field for his team and doing very well.
Out of respect for Josh Gordon's immense talent I will no longer venture into this thread. You just can't mention certain people in comparison to certain topics. It ain't right.

In case anyone missed it his game last week was one of the more misleading stat line vs actual performance games in some time. Might have been the most impressive game I've seen some from him and I realize he dropped some monster games at end of last year.
I was scared Surtain and benched him where I could and feel like I mainly got lucky for that to be the right call. He dominated Surtain.
I think it was Mark Kaboly who said that any team that does not double team and try everything they can to take out Picken's should be considered coaching malpractice. True words were spoken and that's still a concern going forward but he's a stud.
Complete waste of talent in this offense. One of the best WRs in the league after the catch. Actually wouldn’t mind seeing him pull the diva WR card and demand a trade.
Welcome to my bench George. I’ve been leaving too many points there keeping him in my lineup every week. No longer.

I’m not emotional about it bub. I just enjoy winning money and George isn’t helping me do that at the moment. He’s been castrated in this Arthur Smith offense.
Tomlin gave an odd explanation for his playing time. Makes me think what I heard yesterday about him being someone to keep an eye on as a trade candidate before the deadline make a lot more sense, because I was struggling with that thought when I heard it due to their obvious need.
Yeah, that was so blatant and out of frustration. A dumb, dirty moment for a guy that seems to have a bunch of them littered throughout his time in organized football.
Your best WR only plays 34 of the 58 offensive snaps. Tomlin refers it to snap management. Kind of ridiculous. Steelers really don't have a true WR2, and you're going manage GP's snap count. So let's roll with WR3's and 4's out there.
