News: The Texans confirmed to CBSSports.com that WR Andre Johnson made the flight with his teammates to Denver before their Week 16 game at the Broncos. It is believed he tested his injured ankle earlier Saturday before flying, meaning that he passed some tests and should have a good shot at playing on Sunday.

NFL TODAY just announced and showed graphic that AJ WILL play!!!!? WTH? It was a definitive statement too.. this complicates things big time if it's a mistake.. Anywhere else reporting same?

Stephania Bell reporting that pain is the worst thing about Johnson's ankle injury. AJ will test the ankle in pregame warmups but the feeling is that he is unlikely to play.

Johnson was expected to test the ankle before game time, but reports had already surfaced by early Sunday morning that the injury was too painful to play through. Jacoby Jones moves into the starting lineup, and he's likely to see more of Andre' Goodman than Champ Bailey. For those who waited on Johnson, Jones is a fine WR3 substitute.

DENVER — Receiver Andre Johnson is inactive for the Denver game today because of his ankle injury. Jacoby Jones will start in his place.

Darryl Sharpton will start at middle linebacker in place of Kevin Bentley, and Troy Nolan will start at free safety in place of Eugene Wilson.
