WR Jalen McMillan, TB (1 Viewer)

Rick Stroud

Bucs coach Todd Bowles says Jalen McMillan has a severely sprained neck and will miss some time. He will not be ready for the season opener.
:wall::toilet::doh:
X2 dynasty leagues.

:wall:

i was optimistic for some early returns while Godwin was out.

Note to self: necks are not for landing.
Look for Egbuka to get even more targets
Otton time, for those who are into that sort of thing.

No judgement.
:oldunsure:

More likely Mike Evans has 18 receptions for 220/3 in game 1. God help anyone who’s facing him in any format.
I was curious so I looked it up and Evans has only had 7 double digit reception games in his career. It’s possible that Egbuka leads the Bucs in receptions this year.
Wasn’t one of those a five touchdown game? I’m pretty sure it was since I roster him for that. Naturally, I went up against Alvin Kamara, who also had five touchdowns that day. And I lost.
I don’t think so…

ETA 10/207/3 in week 17 if 2023

Aha, that was the one. Check out what Alvin Kamara did that day.

The irony is I traded Alvin Kamara for Mike Evans that preseason.

It was only the third place versus fourth place game, so it only cost me 50 bucks (third paid $100, fourth paid $50)

Jalen McMillan will be placed on injured reserve after suffering a “severely sprained neck,” against the Steelers and could be out past the Bucs Week 9 bye week, the Times has learned. Team still feels fortunate the injury wasn’t worse and have depth at WR starting with Mike Evans and Emeka Egbuka. Chris Godwin will eventually return from a dislocated ankle. But tough news for McMillan.

Only silver lining here is it’s IR. I need the roster spot in both leagues where I roster him.

Thanks JB, not good news for Bucs fans and it could put more pressure on the other skill players
Mike Evans is an old man and needs some support from the other WRs, right now it's mostly him and the rookie
RB-R.White is injured right now as well, he has good hands and can be deployed even with Bucky in the backfield

Sharks need to figure out who the #3 option in this passing game is for the first 8 weeks.

Did Otton's value just go up? Rachaad White's? Who wins the WR3 role?

Otton looks like an awfully good sleeper to me. He's got rapport with Mayfield. Godwin and McMillan are both injured, Evans is aging, Egbuka is a rookie. The first several weeks is a great time for Otton to really establish himself.

White is very overlooked for what he can do in the passing game
165 catches in 3 seasons, 51 last year with Breakout Bucky in the same backfield
White was avg 3.6 his 1st 2 seasons as RB, 272 carries in '23
Bucky on the other hand 5.4 yds per carry last year behind the rookie Center
White did improve his to 4.3 yds per carry, I think they could have Bucky in the backfield and White in the slot or out in the flat to catch balls.

Honestly, I didn't like McMillan at all this year. Evans is still the main dog, Godwin is a stud in PPR, and Egbuka, albeit a rookie was going to threaten McMillan for looks. Then you still have Otton and the RBs to contend with. I wanted no part of McMillan, now even less so.

I can see the Bucs making a move for a veteran WR if they need to.
Amari Cooper is walking the streets right now without a home, they should explore that

When this happened to the Bucs last year Otton was the beneficiary. That was without Evans though.
