If memory serves me correctly, I think you're a Broncos fan, right? I don't know why you think any of this based on everything out there and what Jeudy has and has not shown. There's no way the Broncos are going to expect or get a 1st for him at this point. I'd think a 3rd and 4th would get him easily. He hasn't done the production warranted for a 1st rd WR. His usage has been limited. I'm guessing from his lack of ability to get open this year. I keep hearing the raving of his route running, but it doesn't reflect what he's doing on the field. I'm a Saints fan who's been in Denver for some time. I can tell you firsthand that Payton doesn't show his hand. His said the same thing about Brandin Cooks. He then traded him away. While Cooks yielded a 1st, Jeudy doesn't warrant that nor will anyone give it up. Cooks was and probably still is a better WR. Jeudy's lack of maturity probably has a part to do with his issues, but then again he just might not be as good as some still think he is. I wouldn't understand the Broncos not trading him since the didn't give him the 5th year option and are going to have to pay him what he isn't worth up to this point.
Because a 2024 3rd or 4th draft choice will not upgrade the Broncos starting offense one bit, either this year or next, relative to what Jeudy brings. It would be a net downgrade. A high 2nd or 1st may make sense, but that doesn't appear to be what the market is offering.
And contrary to what the FF community wants to believe, Marvin Mims is not a Jeudy replacement just waiting in the wings to fill his shoes. Sutton, Jeudy and Mims complement each other similar to how Javonte, Perine and McLaughlin all complement each other in the RB room.
