WR Marvin Mims, DEN (1 Viewer)

He was one of my late round dart throw guys.

WR Snap share/ targets
Sutton- 72/76 (95%) 9
Franklin- 45 (59%) 6
Mims- 40 (53%) 4
Sherfield 26 (34%) 1
Bryant 4 (5%) 0

If you're holding out hope, maybe the groin injury kept him uninvolved enough leading up to the game that he wasn't able to get much of the install for the week. However, there's a lot of guys with a much better floor out there on waivers. In dynasty, he's more of a desperation play/ bench hold. In short bench redraft leagues, I'm not so sure.

I enjoyed watching Mims in college. Following Ceedee was a pretty big deal.
Idk what his problem is in the NFL but all he is is a good looking non producer. Every now and then he pops up, sure, but ...like I've watched him be oh so much better than this. An absolute ton of OU WRs have done this, Florida too IIRC, it's just so weird.

Sherfield played way more than I expected. He only seemed to block and had a couple penalties and I wondered why he's in then.

The Titans secondary did a great job blanketing WRs. When Nix was scrambling hoping for someone, it seemed to always be Franklin that came to his aid. I remember a nice play to him in the second half. I think that's the only normal run route throw pass type play that went to him.

Engram is that joker third WR/TE

Ya can't miss Nix's confidence in Franklin or Nix's moodiness. I often skip the Broncos and listen to Cecil or read him. Idk if Bryant can supplant Franklin. Maybe Nix starts to rely on Engram as his panic guy and then Franklin is replaceable? For a meh WR, Franklin was somewhat key to Nix's day

Franklin is a second year receiver who had a good offseason, what makes you think he is meh?

He couldn't shake anyone.
Maybe because the Titans played so well.

I remember a similar conversation last year.

He's rostered in about 50% of leagues

Double digits in PPR 3x including 20 Week 4 vs CIN and 15 in week 7 vs the NYG
21 targets spread over his last 4 games

39/500/6TD last season, only 1 TD thus far but on pace for 70 catches right now, wish his snap count were higher (43%)
2nd Half of the season could be another step forward, Denver is gunning for the Playoffs in a tightly contested division
Nix has not looked great overall this season but that might be even more reason to be optimistic with Nix hopefully kicking into overdrive

-So many injuries and Bye week issues, he had 7 targets last week, big game vs Dallas this week, they typically turn into shootouts
Texans, LVR and Chiefs after that before the Bye week

I've been a Mims truther since he was drafted. It seems like he always spikes in shootouts. Any other games, he's a forgotten man.
I'm not really sure the reason why. Maybe when they spread the field, he has room to get open?
But, he has more upside than most WR 4-5s out there.
