WR Robbie Chosen, free agent (4 Viewers)

Sometimes the best trades are the ones you never made. I have a team that I am rebuilding and I tried for like 3 weeks to get a late 1st or early 2nd 2018 rookie pick for this guy and no one would bite. Now I might have something with him and Juju at receiver.

Same here. Didn't have an open keeper spot so I figured then was the best time to sell him while his streak was still going (had a losing record as well), but no buyers. Instead, he was key to winning five in a row and now he isn't going anywhere.

injured his hamstring at practice today :sadbanana:

think i may just play chris hogan over him unless we hear something really positive

Agreed. I'm just glad this didn't happen in the 1st Q on Sunday and we get no points. At least we can make the change now. Hogan is risky, but all signs point to him starting this week in a great matchup

Starting Cooks and Goodwin over him.   Right now I am starting Evans over him as well.   I don't expect much from either.

Robby Anderson arrested again in SFLA. Some sort of police chase and resisting arrest charges.

Have to assume he gets minimum 6-game suspension based on what happened with Zeke.  Unless Goodell's Ouija board gives him a different answer.

Dude will never be stable enough to secure a job at #1 (which he could get with a good head on his shoulders). Enunwa is back next year. Kearse is Kearse. They'll use an early draft pick on a WR very soon. I'd be selling.

As a fellow owner, we should have been selling last week.

It would take a peculiarly irresponsible trading partner to give anything of value for Anderson now, after this news.

I'm holding and hoping the news dies down at some point like last year's incident.  Decent training camp, even with a suspension, and he might see a Zeke/Gordon expectation bounce (proportional to his lesser starting value of course) that would let me cash out for something.  Maybe.

Damn, huge opportunity cost loss for us.  If that's the case I would just as soon hold him.  If we only get 8 games out of him so be it, but those could be 8 quality games assuming they upgrade the QB position.  I play in very large roster leagues though so there's not a lot of premium on the roster spot and a guy that can give you 8 starts can have value.  I'd give up a 3rd/4th round pick for that if I didn't own him everywhere already.

The New York Daily News' Manish Mehta writes the Jets "aren't ready to give up on" Robby Anderson.

Anderson was arrested for the second time in as many offseasons in January, this time for several traffic violations and allegedly threatening the arresting officer's wife. The incident should lead to a suspension, but the Jets look likely to keep the young receiver around, an unsurprising decision considering how well he played in 2017. A restricted free agent in 2019, the Jets can retain Anderson at a relatively cheap cost for the next two seasons.

ESPN NFL Nation's Rich Cimini reports Robby Anderson's trial hearing has been postponed again.

His new hearing is set for August 6, when the Jets will be in training camp. Anderson was charged with resisting arrest at a music festival in Miami last May. He also faces a separate felony charge stemming from January after allegedly fleeing from the police and threatening to sexually assault another officer's wife.

Robby Anderson - WR - Jets

Andy Slater of WINZ reports felony charges against Robby Anderson have been dropped.

Arrested for an incident in January, Anderson was originally charged with harm to a public servant/family, reckless driving, eluding police, and resisting arrest. All but the misdemeanor reckless driving charge were dropped because of "insufficient evidence." It is a fantastic development for Anderson, but it does not change the fact he has had two run-ins with the law in as many offseasons. He needs to stay on the straight and narrow moving forward.

In other words he probably has no suspension coming? I picked him up on waivers during the season last year along with Devin Funchess.

I don’t think a suspension can be ruled out quite yet but this is definitely good news
I have Nelson/Kupp/Funchess and Anderson in my keeper league where I can only keep 4 guys. I got three good to great QBS IN Rodgers/Wentz/Jimmy G. I'm gonna look to see if I can trade Jimmy and Rodgers as I want to keep Wentz. Though I'm afraid I won't get what I'm looking for do to the fact people know I need to trade two of them probably. I got Melvin Gordon at RB and Gronk At TE so I'm keeping them. In Years past no brainer keep Nelson but I may keep Funchess Anderson or Kupp. I also have Dion Lewis and McKinnon at RB so I got a lot of moves to make in order to keep 4.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Robby Anderson stemming from a misdemeanor reckless driving charge in Florida.

The good news is this incident was previously known; Anderson had several felony charges thrown out in court after he was arrested in January. The only charge that stuck was misdemeanor reckless driving. The bad news is Anderson appears to have skipped his court date, which was scheduled for Tuesday. In a separate incident, Anderson is scheduled to go to trial for resisting arrest with violence and obstruction of justice in August. It would be a surprise at this point if Anderson did NOT open the 2018 season on at least a short suspension.

The attorney for Robby Anderson says he received "no notice" Anderson was to appear in court on Tuesday, and called the subsequent warrant for Anderson's arrest "craziness."

"Robby did not do anything wrong," the lawyer added. "It's not like he just said, 'No, I'm not going to court.' Believe me. I didn't go to court, either. Because nobody knew to be there." Anderson was arrested on January 19 for running two red lights and allegedly doing 105 MPH in a 45 MPH zone while fleeing police. When pulled over, Anderson allegedly told the arresting officer he was going to "f--k" the policeman's wife and "n-t in her eye."

How does this happen?  I was under the impression that court systems employed sheriffs for such purposes as making sure that people were served summons for court appearances.

I've never really heard of anybody who was not a professional athlete just missing a court apprarance...seems like it would be a big deal.

(Now granted, the key phrase of my sentence may be "never heard of" rather than "professional athlete" but this sort of thing seems to happen to ballplayers at a much higher rate than the general public.)

He was charged with NINE things originally and they worked out a deal for two charges. One was dismissed, the other was part of the deal  He or his lawyer didn't pay the fine so he was required to appear. You're not served initially because you sign some document that says if ya don't pay, you're potentially in contempt and must appear on this date.

From what I understand, the nine things was overzealous and florida or miami cops have a habit of doing this; as such, people got a bit ridiculous about it on social media. One guy on the radio did the same thing I did in my head- no license, no insurance, no blinker, head light out...I can't come up with nine so my opinion (knowing almost no facts of the case) is yeah it was overzealous.

Nine to (two) one gives the appearance of favoritism for an NFL player so right about when the fire died out on social media, this stoked it for new reasons.

Good luck following it and/or making sense of it. There is so much really? No way? stuff in this case

I would guess that his lawyer is just covering for him not showing up - but it could happen. This was a hearing on something he already plead down so there would be no summons.

It's possible he did not get proper notice of the date due to an error by the court clerk (they aren't exactly the cream of society).

Robby Anderson's attorney said the warrant for his client has been lifted.

Ed O'Donnell said the warrant was a clerical error by the court, which failed to notify O'Donnell and his client about a hearing. A new court date has been set for July 19. All felony charges stemming from Anderson's January arrest have been dropped, but he is still facing a misdemeanor reckless driving charge.

This is a cross-posting but it happened to me. I retained a rather good lawyer for a case I caught and the clerk never notified him or the woman in charge of the logistics of the case of the appearance date. It was a moderate charge, but certainly a serious matter.

I was lucky. The judge found that there was no probable cause and dropped the case.

I'm thinking Anderson could be one of the better bargains in FF drafts this year. He finished as WR16 in my non-PPR dynasty league with a weak-armed McCown & certainly has the best chance to be the Jets' top receiver this season, as well.

Anderson is one of the better deep ball WRs in the NFL at 6'3 & legit low 4.3 speed. Darnold is a MUCH better fit.

Lots of headroom with his relatively little experience at WR. Anderson has a very high ceiling if he gets his off the field stuff in check, especially if Darnold comes through.
