WR T.Y. Hilton, DAL (1 Viewer)

What are his projections now following the first quarter of the season? Is Hilton living up to some of the optimistic projections of being Luck's favorite target on the field? I see his targets are higher than Wayne's (2+ most games). The lack of TDs are concerning, but he's piling up the receptions and yardage. Is it just a matter of time for the TDs to come, or will Indy continue to look elsewhere for TDs in the RZ?
That's what I think. The important thing is that he's getting steady targets and being productive with him. Keep starting him.

You're seeing it right. The targets are there. The team is scoring. They are spreading it around some but law of averages says it will hit its stride. There are going to be games where they get the big play and like someone mentioned, he did alright in Houston last year.

In PPR, even without the TDs, I am happy with the 11-16 or so I'm getting, especially when a lot of big name WRs that would normally be my #2 are erratic right now. If nothing else, he is consistently above average. The difference between a 15 and a 26 point game last weeks was a holding call. Didn't get the points but the effort is there.

Glad I traded him last week. Thought it was a nice package deal...maybe not :(

T.Y. Hilton caught 9-of-9 targets for 223 yards and a touchdown in the Colts' Week 6 win over the Texans.

Hilton entered the game tied for 11th in catches (31), ninth in yards (381) and fifth in targets (50). In other words, he was due to go off. Hilton caught five passes for 147 yards in the first quarter, and was a subtle touch of the jersey away from a 54-yard touchdown on Indy's second drive. He finally got his first score of the season two quarters later, splitting two safeties with his unreal speed for a 33-yard grab. The Colts have (wisely) been utilizing Hilton as their top offensive weapon this season, targeting him at least nine times in 5-of-6 games. He's an every-week WR2 who could keep ascending.

100-yard receiving games through first 37 games: Hilton (13), Calvin Johnson (7), A.J. Green (11), Julio Jones (14), Roddy White (3)

Nice stat. I still worry that he'll lose some points due to the fact that the Colts spread the ball around so much on offense, but then TY puts up a game like this. As a Colts fan, he definitely reminds me a lot of Marvin Harrison, and with a QB like Luck, he will be a WR1 very soon if he's not already.

The Colts do spread the ball around, but TY gets targeted a lot. I think he is in a good situation.

The Colts spread the ball a lot, but they also throw 40+ times a game. Hilton's basically averaging 10 targets a game and 6-7 receptions a game. He's a pretty damn consistent option who also has the ability to blow up at any time. Lot's to like about him right now.

Ok yea can we finally dismiss the idea that Hilton is boom/bust or is somehow inconsistent? His TDs are inconsistent but not targets and yards.

His targets per games are:

5 receptions, 11 targets, 41 yards

6,11, 65

5, 6, 80

6, 10, 105

9, 12, 90

9, 9, 203

That's a fairly high floor in PPR ceiling. Sprinkle in an additional TD or two (I'd argue he's been unlucky in that regard so far this year) and he's a mid-high WR1, only below the elite tier.

This result shouldn't be that surprising since I told you guys one page back (preseason) how he would make a jump this year. ;)

I've followed the Colts for a long time and tend to think I generally have a good feel for what they are doing in fantasy land and so, over the years, I think I've been pretty decent at recognizing Wayne's value being higher than generally perceived, how they run the offense, and so forth.

One thing that I have really noticed that is different with Hilton now is, while a lot of people still think of him as "the deep threat" only (we know he is more but it seems to lead the "experts" to label him as boom or bust or situational, etc), that component has clearly completely changed as now the Colts are very willing to drag him across the middle: Not from the slot but from his inside position when there are 2 wide on one side.

To me that is important for all the obvious reasons but it also indicates that it allows Reggie to almost live in the slot and do what he does so well but it adds to the stress of the defense as they now have to deal with it from both sides,

As a result, we see this season a very consistent and high number of targets that looks absolutely sustainable.

Even watching a game like last night, it's hard to think of him being Julio or Green, but it is really easy to see him being Steve Smith in the good years, Cruz, and guys like that who, while they won't dominate the red zone, they may make the Red zone less needed because they have a tend to pop those 25-40 yard TDs.

In short, the one part of his game that was weak (consistency) is erased. If he is playing, I think he is almost a lock for 8-12 targets because of their style because if they are in a shoot out, he is obvious. If they are winning, he is now part of the move the chain gang. If they are losing, he is in there as rapid comeback guy. No matter the situation, Hilton can be useful.

Fixed.

Those that stuck with him when others were saying he wasn't a #1 are getting paid off big time now. The guy looks like the next great little WR.

Luck and Hilton could make history as a duo in this league.

Rotoworld:

T.Y. Hilton caught seven passes for 107 yards in Sunday's Week 7 win over the Bengals.

Hilton is a monster stud. He lined up all over the formation, beat Leon Hall at times, caught bubble screens, caught bombs and continues to pile up targets (nine today). A born playmaker operating with a generational quarterback, he's among the safest week-to-week fantasy options. Hilton has at least nine targets in 6-of-7 games, has gone over 100 yards in three of his last four and is on pace for 107 catches, 1625 yards and four touchdowns on 155 targets. Hilton is going to rip through the Steelers' terrible corners next week.

Turns out his name is actually Marquise Eugene. Who knew?

Can we get the OP to finally change the title from Ty to TY? TIA
