Hey guys. hope your drafting season is going as planned!

wanted to shed some light on two late round players with HUGE value!

Joey Galloway - 1057 yards, 7 TDs. ADP in the 10th round.

Terry Glenn - 1047 yards, 6 TDs. ADP in the 10th round.

I didnt really like these players until looking over www.fantasyquants.com and seeing their value players for this year.

I have to say, i would love to have two WR with this production in the 9th and 10th round, after I have filled my roster with 4 RBs, 1-2 WRs, 1-2 QBs, 1 TE.

This is Coles type production 30 picks later in the draft.

What does everyone think of both Glenn and Galloway?

I also like Galloway this year and love the value at where you can get him. I think M. Muhammed will go later and put together a decent yeat.

Didn't Glenn's production take a hit after Romo became starter ?

I think Romo looks to TO and Glenn's numbers suffer. Just a vague memory, but I think that was true last year.

I like Glenn this year, and dislike Galloway. See the spotlight threads of each for my reasons why.

ok, so the Vick thing just put a wrinkle into my draft. i have been following fantasyquants.com for a year now, and was going to take Vick as there top QB selection for this year. I see they just dropped him because of the legal issues.
Agenda? has it been a day or a year?No big deal, but it sure seems like you are pushing fantasyquants.com....

ha... yea, glenns knee is a bit of a worry, i think galloway goes first!

agenda, no.... but i like the site, and im pretty much basing my draft on them, so id like more insight before i do!

:hophead: yesterday then a year... looks like a shill

Opposite of what he said.
I agree with this. I think many discount Galloway by looking at 2006 stats. But, let's remember how large of an improvement at QB Galloway gets. I expect another good year. Glenn, otoh, topped out last year, imo. I do like Romo, but I think the offense goes through TO this year.

You're forgetting that Galloway will be 36 at the end of the season. Only 12 times in history has a WR finished the season at 36 or older and scored 100+ points in that season (and generally 100 points is just outside of the top 36). Five of those times belonged to Jerry Rice, three to Charlie Joiner, and one each to Jimmy Smith, Chris Carter, Tim Brown, and James Lofton. That's pretty much the sum total of 36-year-old WRs who have finished as a top-36 WR. If Galloway merely repeats his numbers- not improving, just performing exactly the same as last season, he will have outscored every 36+ year old WR in NFL history not named Jerry Rice. Is that really a projection that you want to make? Do you really think that Galloway is going to outproduce every non-Rice 36-year-old WR to ever play in the NFL?As for Terry Glenn... I agree that Romo has tunnelvision for Owens... but not to the degree that you'd think. A funny thing happened last season- from weeks 11-17, played entirely under Romo, Glenn had 34/591/2 receiving. That's an average of 5/84/.29 a game, and would pro-rate to 80/1344/4.6 over a full season, which would have been good for a WR12 finish. He was over 75 yards in 5 of 7 games, and over 4 receptions in 6 of 7 games. Romo had an absurd case of tunnelvision for Owens when he first came into the lineup, and he had it all season long in the red zone, but everywhere else on the field, Glenn had NO PROBLEM getting his with the new kid in town once he got settled down. Also, remember that Glenn is still a year younger than Owens, too, so age isn't much of a factor yet. And, since TD numbers fluctuate the most from year to year (and MBIII and TO will be hard-pressed to keep up their TD-per-touch pace), Glenn is likely to see an increase in TDs over last season.

I was just thinking the same thing, he just joined in July and he spamming in a way to get the Pool to respond and not know he's spamming and I didn't even know about the other references you've posted. Good find. ;)

I few of those older receivers had some great years under Gruden. In fact, follow Gruden back to his OC days in Philly & he revived an ancient Irving Fryer's career. Gruden loves these older guys that know how to get open & understand the game. He's had them on his teams for the last 10-12 years. Galloway still has his quicks & Garcia will find him at full speed, as opposed to the limited patterns being run for the rookie QB last season. I like him for a bump up from last year.

Yeah, about 20 yds downfield, tops. Matching Garcia with a deep-threat WR and expecting big results is like matching a midget and a dwarf and expecting their offspring to start in the NBA. Not gonna happen.

I'm the opposite..Glenn is already hurt, just had surgery. that's a dicey situation for this WR with a history of seemingly constant injuries.Galloway is usually money, no matter who's throwing the ball to him in TB. Caddy *might* be good this season but I'll have to see it to believe it. That means the Bucs should throw a LOT more! Coles always produces, and so does Donald Driver. Amani Toomer might have one good season left..

Hmm... 12.99 to try out FantasyQuants? Sorry, not enough info to entice me. At least FO has a lot of free stuff to give you an idea of what you get if you pay for the book or the KUBIAK stats. The "Teams" they identified so far aren't that impressive. Some nice sleepers, but some busts too. The TB defense is 2006 was awful.
