YOU ARE ABOUT TO BE SUSPENDED! (1 Viewer)

New rules seem like a good thing. I don’t think I can get suspended much more than I already do, so if it cuts back on people whining it will make my time here better

Yep. See Trump's Twitter feed for tips and tricks.

Edit: yeah, you might not want to do that.
I suspect that folks who believe there was nothing wrong with the President calling never Trumpers human scum are having a hard time understanding the new guidelines.

It’s pretty easy to post stuff that doesn’t complain about other people or the moderators or being suspended. It’s pretty easy not to be rude to anyone here, and not to make offensive comments.
Can I draft Tim on the First to get Suspended Bingo card?

How about gardening?.
Gardening sucks.  Why would I want to spend my time growing my own vegetables when I could devote that time to market labor instead, and use my earned income to buy vegetables grown by someone with a lower opportunity cost?  I like @Maurile Tremblay, but I'm disappointed that he's flagrantly disregarding the importance of comparative advantage.

Yep, it seems to be working. Those that can't figure out the rules just won't post. Those that know the rules and break them, will be suspended. Those that know the rules and follow them will post appropriately.

@Joe Bryant, you should give @Maurile Tremblay a raise. (and maybe a few extra days of paid vacation, he may need it)
Maurile, I think he’s asking Joe to suspend you.  Is that suspension worthy?

Fresh vegetables from the garden picked ripe taste better than vegetables picked at a mass farm unripe and ripened en route on a truck.

You can’t factor quality difference in to a pure economics calculation.

The shark move is just like what you should do with a boat or a pool.  Have a close relative or good friend who has one - reap all the benefits without any of the sowing.

Neighbor has a garden...they always plant too many cucumbers and tomatoes.  I get free fresh cucumbers and tomatoes.

Though, the tomatoes they might as well throw in the trash...such an awful fruit/vegetable.  Well...I love stuff with tomatoes, just not a fan of just raw tomatoes other than in good salsa.  And the whole peeling them and the texture just isn't good.  Also a bit pretentious...its not a vegetable its really a fruit or a berry.  Vile weed.

Wat

Raw tomatoes (like people who just eat a slice of one...or diced raw tomatoes on tstuff) suck.

Salsa = good, Tomato Sauce = good.

Also...people don't know whether its a fruit or vegetable (insert snarky person voice...its a berry)...and I just think they are vile weeds (as I was steeling from Seinfeld/Newman talking about Broccoli)

It worked maybe because many posters are overly cautious fearing that they will be suspended because they don't adequately grasp the parameters of the new rules. It is one strike and you're out and then read a book (according to you) until the one, two, three, four or five+ week until the suspension is over.

Did Joe approve your new rule trial period that you are running a victory lap over?
Good....and I hope that not only does Joe approved, it was something he came up with.

I am put in mind of my mother's exasperated tone when she would tire of mediating the squabbles of us petulant kids.

Don't make Maurile turn this car around!

No matter what happens here Trump is still our president and our lives are all a little more miserable because of that, no matter how much gardening we do.

@Maurile Tremblay is the best.

I've long said the key to life is surrounding yourself with people smarter / better / more capable than yourself.

Maurile's a great example of that for me.

Pretty sure the best we can do these days is lethal injection or gas according to the courts.  The other suggestions would probably be considered unexcellent.

At the risk of incurring the Wrath of Mod - that is not what he is referring to...

(Its a bit of humor referencing non-existent threads mentioned up-thread)
Of course.

We're saying don't do it. Period. Even when you think it's a bit of humor.

The rules seem both comprehensive and clear for what constitutes a violation and what the punishment will be.  I see no reason why these won't solve the issues which has plagued this place.

Shutting down the politics forum won't solve anything.

People discuss politics. Old people even more, and this board is getting older.

The politics forum gives all of these cranky old moths a lightbulb to bash their heads into instead of flying around the FFA. If you turn off the lights here, they'll just fly back to the FFA. Turn off the lights in the FFA, and you'll be policing political posts made in the shark pool without being able to say "take it to the politics forum".

Message boards of any kind will attract people who want to talk about politics until you turn the lights off.  Fantasy football website filled with 40 and 50 somethings?   How about YouTube comments?  Or Pornhub comments (I mean that's what I've heard).

Sure.  But, for the record - thats not what Hags said here.  It was a light-hearted reference to a non-existent thread.  He was not talking about actually ignoring any poster by name or otherwise.  The humor was the important-sounding thread, that probably would be an interesting topic, but it does not exist.

Like what HF said@Henry Ford  there's nothing like fresh veggies from your garden.  But its an odd time of year to start planting in the Northeast.

I think the moment has passed; let us reconvene in Seventeeth Century Spies: Enlightened Espionage.

I'll be sure never to whine about a pissing contest that hasn't been seen by the moderators yet in our topic about the Roman Senate.
Sorry Hags - i'll let it drop.  I find your style of humor to be just the antidote to take the edge off an otherwise tense atmosphere.  We need more light-heartedness in the world.
