🐎 *OFFICIAL 2022 Horse Racing Extravaganza Traveling Road Show Thread - Life Gettin' Better At Big Sandy* 🐎 (2 Viewers)

Who are we kidding here, the Belmont is a bunch of also-rans.  Nobody but a trainer and some owners will remember the winner a few years from now.

The real race to watch -- the Met Mile -- and the the horse to watch -- Flightline -- is where it's at.  Some very strong contenders, and the race could play out in a number of ways.  Far more likely a Breeder's Cup and/or Eclipse Award winner comes from this race.

DRF's take.

The actual Belmont is an undercard.

Brakes badly and then has Junior Alvarado come over and screw him, forcing him to steady.  None of it mattered, Prat didn't panic -- could've rushed up at the rail but no -- just pulls him back and gathers the horse together, then goes on about his business, circling the beast from the east (pretender) and wins like it was a workout.

What a monster.  That horse cannot be touched.  Shipped, different surface, horrible start, from a speed horse no less, and still a stroll for him through central park.  Amazing animal.

Hope he stays healthy for the Breeder's Cup.  Fun to watch that level of talent, rarely comes around.

Man - can't believe they let the 7 just waltz up front but the 10 did break terribly.  Boxed 4-2 and tri 2-4/all/2-4.  Though Prat was sitting chilly and knew when to go.  Amazing that horse got a 7 length lead and they couldn't catch him. Oh well.

Prat had a #### race there - maybe he's distracted about winning his first legit (Country House on DQ) TC race ... pressure might be getting to this cat.

track is looking cuppy as all get out ... if Prat just stays within what this horse has to offer, he can't miss.

if he strarts burning fractions, we know he's spooked - this cat has to let it out a notch as each qtr clicks ... he has plenty of horse - he won't be caught if he stays patient on the engine.

he could also get out by 5 lengths and just annihilate 'em - if that's what the horse shows him he has today, it'll be on.

Please.  You love taking shots at Prat.  The guy is one of, if not, the best.  In time, you'll see (admit it).

Every other rider in that race got caught letting Franco run away with it on the front end.  Props to him.  But to instead pin on Prat is hilarious.  All of the riders misjudged the pace and also underrated the horse.  He didn't come back to the field is all.  HELLO, it was 20-1, none of those riders thought he'd keep going.  Nor did the public.

OTOH, the ride on Flightline by Prat was an absolute clinic, but no mention of it?  There will be many more and that guy is gonna be on top for awhile.  Enjoy it.

Is it where he's from that burns you a little?

it was a bad ride, and I'm a big fan of Prat.

one thing with Prat on turf is that he spent years in California riding the same race.  draft behind Rispoli and when he made his move Prat would make his.  He's a better rider on dirt, and he isn't used to being up against 5-6 quality jockeys.  This is his first year on the East Coast and he's learning a few things.

Moving on, can a Frenchman and a horse from Arkansas (of course bred in Kentucky) win the Belmont???

My money's on him.  Can't believe this price.  It will drop, but it's still going to be great value, imo.

We the People, out of Arkansas!

Banking on WTP to win and avoid paying box fees and only going with 1/3,5,6,8/3,5,6,8.
