It's not a bad song, just surprising to me given some of the Spoon songs that haven't been taken.Just trying to include a few songs that aren't well known. It's from a charity album and features Stephen Colbert. It's a cover, apparently. I have it at home in one of my Spoon rarities folders but I've never thought of it as anything special.I can't even place it. Don't have sound up here.Yes to both."Tear Me Down" is a very odd Spoon choice. Is that five from Modest Mouse? And what are we up to on Spoon? Four?
Like what? It's not a bad song, just surprising to me given some of the Spoon songs that haven't been taken.Just trying to include a few songs that aren't well known.
The draft is so big, panic mode sets in.It's very strange the way The White Stripes flew off the board, all 6 of their songs being taken within 15 drafters. It was like a last round kicker run. It has me worried about other bands going too quickly (which is part of the reason I bumped up that Modest Mouse song).
Why I went ahead and took a Kings of Leon song. I wanted it on my mix and thought that they're a band with a potential run occurring. wow i forgot all about this album (i inadvertently deleted it from my collection a few years back). this might be the catchiest song about incest that i know.lcd - get innocuous was also a great choice. i nearly picked it myself but i like "north american's" shorter run time.Eels - Souljacker part 1 (3:15)

http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2010/...omically_r.htmlNew Radiohead Song Comically Radiohead-esque
On Saturday Sunday, the happy-go-lucky members of Radiohead played a benefit show in Hollywood for Oxfam's relief efforts in Haiti. During the second encore, Thom Yorke debuted "Lotus Flower," a brand-new track presumably destined for their upcoming eighth album, which they're supposedly recording now. As you might expect, it features a sad melody sung all in falsetto, arpeggiated minor chords, drop-D guitar tuning, and a meandering Yorke-plucked bass line. Basically, it sounds like it could lapse into "I Might Be Wrong," "There There," "Follow Me Around," or "In Limbo" at any second. Also, we can't make out any of the lyrics, but they're almost certainly about the dangers of unchecked capitalism or some virus common to rabbits.![]()

I've got about 4 or 6 more songs I'm worried that other people may grab. After I hit round 8 or 10, I could likely wait until the 30th round and still get all the same songs I'm going to draft.
Marco takes more drugs than a touring Polka Band.4.12 McLusky - To Hell With Good Intentions (2:25)
To be more precise, it's from the "Wig In A Box" charity compilation, comprised entirely of Hedwig & The Angry Inch covers. Not many of them beat the originals, though (if any). It's from a charity album and features Stephen Colbert. It's a cover, apparently. I have it at home in one of my Spoon rarities folders but I've never thought of it as anything special.I can't even place it. Greek Theater in Los Angeles. Probably within a few days of each other. Best band that night was De La Soul. They "educated" the crowd on how to enjoy a hip hop show since it was a largely white, indie rock crowd. They were a blast.Eta: part of their problem is that their music is a little too intimate for am outdoor daytime venue that's only half full as people keep trickling in. MM had me hooked the first time I heard Teeth...on LCW. Funny thing about Moon n Antarctica was that when I got it, I hated it. Scanned the songs and was disappointed. Put it away for a few months vwhen I tried it again I don't think anything else went into my CD player for six months. One of the most perfect front to back albums ever made.I wonder if we were at the same show in Berkeley, CA at the greek theater? I remember MM putting on a pretty unsatisfying show that night as well. I've seen them several times since then and they've been much a much better live act.Flaming Lips otoh killed that night.Arch Stanton said:Saw them on the Eternal Sunchine Tour with Cake, Modest Mouse and De La Soul. Had never really heard them before and didn't know what they were about. Came out of there thinking they were either the greateest live band ever, or the worst. This song sounded outstanding live though.FTR, MM SUCKED that night. Barely acknowledged the audience, listless, no soul. Might've been during either his end days of drugging or the early days of sobering up. Saw them again since and they were much better, but it was a serious downer for the first time seeing them live.
4.13 The Avalanches - Frontier Psychiatrist
Will post time, write-up and shout out to a certain South American later . ..
I kinda left them off because I've already covered "Frontier Psychiatrist" and another one of their songs in past drafts, and wanted to draft new stuff here. Still, this is one of my favorite songs and maybe my favorite music video, coming from one of my favorite albums ever. It's so freakin' good.lol5 min to OH skipETA: I guess that's one way to pick songs we've never heard of before
I had that shirt before it got to the printing press and sold out to the Man.Krista bought him the shirt.OH likes bands that haven't even been formed yet.
