The Roots are a band I'm torn on. I am a huge hip-hop fan, and on the surface the Roots embody everything I should like about a group: original/organic music, solid lyricism, and a true respect for the artform. And I enjoy most of their work . . . I just don't LOVE it like I should. I've never been able to put my finger on what is missing from this band. Having said that, I have never seen them live and I have been told that they put on the best live show of any hip-hop act. Either way, Seed 2.0 is one of their songs that I would consider truly great.
