Not so sure Sproles was actually formally released.AdamSchefter: So the players being shopped have been released yet the player being released, Darren Sproles, now is being shopped. And will be traded
I have no idea WTF this means
Lots of players were being shopped...nobody made offers so they were released.AdamSchefter: So the players being shopped have been released yet the player being released, Darren Sproles, now is being shopped. And will be traded

Sproles was announced that he would be released. Before it was official, they apparently have received interest in him and are now likely to get something back for him.
The Vikings certainly do not need him for special teams.God I hope it is not the Vikings.Lots of players were being shopped...nobody made offers so they were released.AdamSchefter: So the players being shopped have been released yet the player being released, Darren Sproles, now is being shopped. Would make sense though, Gerhart leaving, Turner is OC, Asiata doesn't catch really - I just don't think (guessing) NO wants to trade him to an NFC team and they don't want him to sign as a FA in conference or especially in-division.The Vikings certainly do not need him for special teams.God I hope it is not the Vikings.Lots of players were being shopped...nobody made offers so they were released.AdamSchefter: So the players being shopped have been released yet the player being released, Darren Sproles, now is being shopped. That is a stretch, they have Vereen for that exact role.I will go out on a limb and say the Patriots. He fits their MO.
Hey, at least I'm not quoting rotoworld a 100 times a dayRotoworld, you so crazyGiants agreed to terms with RB Rashad Jennings, formerly of the Raiders.
Jennings was supposed to be a free-agent priority for the Raiders, but they let him walk without much of a fight. According to CSN Bay Area, the Giants offered "a lot more." Jennings is two weeks shy of his 29th birthday, but has just 484 career touches. He averaged 4.5 yards per carry last season, and is an excellent pass catcher. He's a nice insurance policy for David Wilson. Mar 11 - 5:23 PM
I thought of the Pats too. That is a stretch, they have Vereen for that exact role.I will go out on a limb and say the Patriots. He fits their MO.
I am thinking they want him for his special teams ability and the cheap contract. IMO, it makes more sense for him to go to a contender rather than a team that needs to rebuild (like my Vikings). That is a stretch, they have Vereen for that exact role.I will go out on a limb and say the Patriots. He fits their MO.
Make it James or Lattimore? - I may need to forward this to Mickey Loomis. What about a trade to SF for LaMichael James and/or late round pick? SF like to dance this time of year and they are rumored to be looking to move him.
I dont think it would make sense honestly. The Vikings need a RB who can block and they re-signed Sherrels so there is no job for him on returns.Would make sense though, Gerhart leaving, Turner is OC, Asiata doesn't catch really - I just don't think (guessing) NO wants to trade him to an NFC team and they don't want him to sign as a FA in conference or especially in-division.The Vikings certainly do not need him for special teams.God I hope it is not the Vikings.Lots of players were being shopped...nobody made offers so they were released.AdamSchefter: So the players being shopped have been released yet the player being released, Darren Sproles, now is being shopped. He might be a backup next season. That's a horrific deal for him if those incentives aren't total gimmes. He might end up making less than some straight backups.lol. fwiw looks like a good setup for the Raiders, only $1.25M committed.Darren McFadden's deal with #Raiders is 1-year, $1 .75M. Has $1 .25M base, $500K in bonuses (including $256K in per-game). $2 .25M incentives. What percentage of that goes to the trainers?McFadden resigns with Raiders, link coming...
edit: no link, it was a site quoting Sheffter tweet:

It's a tough pill for folks to swallow that McFadden is a back up level RB at this point. He was touted as the next big thing, we quickly learned he wasn't, but I think a lot of folks out there believe he could thrive given the right situation. Maybe he can but the injuries have taken their toll. Obviously he enjoys Oakland and wanted to stay if possible. He might be a backup next season. That's a horrific deal for him if those incentives aren't total gimmes. One year deal with minimal financial commitment. Doesn't exactly scream "long term solution." Looks like an insurance policy if the rookie they draft is a flop. Not totally dissimilar to Dwyer's deal last year or what ended up happening with Mendenhall.
Wow indeed. Not even sure how they are able to afford it.@RapSheet: The #Saints announced a long-term deal for Jairus Byrd. Wow
This years crown jewel of the FA market. Nice signing for NO.@RapSheet: The #Saints announced a long-term deal for Jairus Byrd. Wow
Ugh.
Like that for all involved, makes the Jags better IMO.
I like it too. Gerhart will get his chance!Like that for all involved, makes the Jags better IMO.
He'll get a chance, no doubt. It smells like Mendy in Arz to me though. Marginal talent in a bad situation. There is value because he will compile touches but that's about it.Like that for all involved, makes the Jags better IMO.
Somewhere someone mentioned a DE (Johnson) + a CB ( Verner) at 16 mill > 16 mill just for Revis.@DanGrazianoESPN: RT @NFLSTROUD: #Bucs agree to terms with Pro Bowl CB Alterraun Verner
That's a lot of money for a guy who isn't exactly young and was hurt a lot last year.WOW
@AdamSchefter: Saints are giving former Bills S Jairus Byrd a six-year, $54 million contract, including $28 million guaranteed, per source.
Strong for Gerhart. Not quite as strong for the Jags.Uh wut?
@RapSheet: For Toby Gerhart and the #Jaguars, its a 3-year deal worth $10.5M with $4.5M guaranteed. Strong.
John Keim, ESPNSource: S Jairus Byrd gets a 6-year deal with the Saints at a max value of $54M, Guaranteed figure is just over $27M
Didn't the Saints have something like 2 mil under the cap? Why in the hell couldn't the Lions do this deal?@RossTuckerNFL:
Jimmy Graham just threw up. MT: @AdamSchefter: Saints giving Byrd six-year, $54 million including $28 million guaranteed
DeMarcus Ware and Von Miller. Interesting.@AdamSchefter: Filed to ESPN: Denver has emerged as the favorite to land former Dallas DE DeMarcus Ware, per league sources.

i think this points to Pierre Thomas being cut and/or playing for free. Bunkley , Rafael Bush free up almost $3m there.Didn't the Saints have something like 2 mil under the cap? Why in the hell couldn't the Lions do this deal?@RossTuckerNFL:
