My RB studs this week were Carlos Hyde at 9.10 and Shane Vereen at 7.70.

Survived the cut (and the McCoy concussion scare) but not feeling too great about my lineup's backwards momentum.

If this was Week 5's cut, I'd be sitting on the sidelines already.

Remember when the packers, saints and patriots had high powered offenses?

Survived? By 4 points. Hard to get excited with lacy, jordy, cooks, graham, brady and gronk.

Let's see---

$34 LeSean McCoy outscored by $3 Benny Cunningham? Check.

$30 Jimmy Graham outscored by $8 Dwayne Allen? Check.

$27 Dez Bryant outscored by $5 Kelvin Benjamin, $3 John Brown and $3 Jeremy Kerley? Check.

$91 worth of studs not counting and moving on? Check.

I'm still chugging along crushing the cut line. This may be my best start ever. Which means I'll probably exit this week, lol.

My cutline was off from the official result by 0.10, which of course drives me crazy. In reconciling my scores with the FBG scores that came out this morning, I found the culprits:

- Russell Wilson and Andy Dalton each had a reception on Sunday. My site was crediting them with 1 point for the reception, but according to the official rules they should not get this point. I'll make a quick fix to address this in case any QBs (or kickers?) get a reception in the future.

- The FBG results show the Giants defense with 10 points. My site has them at 8. I checked nfl.com and it looks like they had 3 INTs and 2 sacks. That's 8 points, can someone help me out and let me know if I'm missing something? (Ironically, I was at that game, but I started tailgating in the morning so some of the details are a little fuzzy. :) )

Any chance FBG is counting the Houston fumble as a fumble lost?

Yeah, only thing I could think is somehow they're counting the Fitzpatrick fumble, OR they're crediting the Giants D for recovering their own fumble on the FG attempt:

(14:19) (Field Goal formation) 5-S.Weatherford Aborted. 51-Z.DeOssie FUMBLES at HOU 12, recovered by NYG-3-J.Brown at HOU 37. 3-J.Brown to HOU 41 for -4 yards (25-K.Jackson, 93-J.Crick). The Field Goal attempt would have been from 30 yards.
Anybody have Drinen's email address? I thought it used to be on the FBG site but I can't find it. (EDIT: Nevermind, I found it and sent him an email. I'll update when I hear back.)

In the meantime here are the survival rates updated through week 3 (using the current FBG results; if NYG scoring is changed a handful of teams will change places but these results won't change meaningfully):

Code:
Size	Surv Rate18	56.0%19	60.9%20	65.2%21	68.9%22	69.6%23	69.7%24	75.8%25	69.4%26	70.5%27	75.9%28	74.3%29	74.6%30	73.9%Tot	63.1%

All but 4 of my guys have scored for me already: Brady, Hunter, Lattimer, and Shayne Graham.

Don't know if thats good or bad.

I guess its bad when Cunningham outscores McCoy.

Still have had 35+ points on every cut line thus far. Feeling good about that.

This is an interesting idea. I matched your $91; I've got Peterson ($30), Calvin ($31), and $30 worth of TEs (Reed for $18 and Eifert for $12) just sitting uselessly on my bench this week, and I survived easily. I wonder what team survived with the most total useless money this week.

Survive and advance. I should be positioned to be ok this week --only Sanders and 2/3rds of my kickers on bye. Still have Ingram out tho. I really need one of my 3 no-count-so-far WRs to contribute something.

Week 4 is where it gets interesting. Bunch of bye weeks and injuries all lumped together. I'm just holding out hope that other teams are in worse shape than mine.

I like the used vs. unused idea.

20 man roster here:

used $140, unused $109 in week 3

used $197, unused $52 for all weeks (Bridgewater, MJD, Kenny Stills, Jordan Reed, Blair Walsh)

3 of my 5 RB's are hurt and one is on a bye. Need a bajillion points from Alfred Morris to survive.
I have Marshawn on a bye. My other two RBs are the under-performing Lacy and the suspended Peterson. I do have Asiata. Two of my main TEs (Rudolph and Mercedes Lewis) are injured and out for a long time. One of my kickers, Freese, is cut. It's not looking good for the future of my team.

I had $109 in just McCoy, Lacy, Patterson and D. Thomas on my bench. Made the cut by 30.

Used $98

Unused $152

Only $24 unused on my 24-man roster through 3 weeks:

Alfred Blue $3

Justin Hunter $9

Cody Latimer $6

John Carlson $3

Pittsburgh DEF $3

I was eliminated one year because a touchdown that Ryan Longwell threw didn't count.

I was just ranting about my studs, but total cost of my scoring players was only $96. Forte, Antonio Brown and Kaep were the only double-digit cost guys on my roster who counted this week (23 man roster).

Oh man, that sucks. I guess the rules are the rules. It didn't even occur to me to think about receptions for QBs. The logic for scoring receptions on my site was basically "if it's a TE, then 1.5, otherwise 1." I've changed it so it explicitly only awards points for receptions to RB, WR, and TE.

I reached out to Doug Drinen and he said he'll look into this tonight. No idea if it will change or remain as is.

By my count, if the NYG score does change from 10 to 8, then the 7 teams that are currently eliminated with a score of 134.65 would survive, and there's 1 team who's currently above the cut who will fall below as a result of losing 2 points. (I apologize in advance if you're that guy.)

I've not used $22 -- S. Green ($6); Hunter ($9); N. Washington ($4), LaFell ($3). Of course, if I'm using them much I'm doomed. I expected competence from the Titan offense. That's appearing to be a little too much to expect.

QBs: Luck (3/3) Flacco (0/3) Bortles (0/3) - thus $11 unused

RBs: Morris (3/3) Hill (2/3) Ingram (2/3) Turbin (1/3) Lacy (0/3) White (0/3) - $32 unused

WRs: Maclin (3/3) Green (2/3) Benjamin (2/3) Sanu (2/3) Jennings (1/3) Wheaton (0/3) T Smith (0/3) - $21 unused

TEs: Ertz (2/3) Amaro (1/3) Cameron (0/3) Rivera (0/3) - $25 unused

PKs: Sturgis (2/3) Walsh (1/3) Freese (0/3 and he got cut) - $3 unused

Defs: Minnesota (2/3)* Pittsburgh (1/3) Kansas City (0/3)* = $5 unused

* - actually tied, tie goes to team already used more

So out of 26 guys I've used only 16. And $97 hasn't been used :bag:

I don't think this is what anyone meant by zero RB theory but I've been literally putting it to the test. At this point, but probably not much longer, I would have advanced with zero RB points.

My RB's

Ray Rice

MJD

Ingram

Jonathan Stewart

Denard Robinson

Theo Riddick

Benny Cunningham

Robert Turbin

Is there a way to look at my prior-week scoring on the site? I'm curious about my used/unused stats, but didn't track anything for the first 2 weeks.

Thought I would try somthing different this year and go with a small roster 19 players.I only have one player that hasn't counted for me yet and thats Eddie Lacy.I am a big fan boy so I'm pretty suprised by that,I mean Cotchery has even counted for me.

21 man roster, week 3 $106 out of $250 counted. Notable missing in action are Lacy $28 and Dem Thomas $29.

> Lacy $28 has yet to count towards a final score in three weeks. Riley Cooper $12 is the only other player yet to count.

> Three low end receivers have counted twice each, all with double digit scores: G Jennings $9, B Quick $4, M Sanu $3.

> Jordy Nelson $25 is the only player on my roster who has counted every week.

> All tree of my QB's have counted, one each week: Dalton $13, Rivers $12, Fitzpatrick $5

Eeked by last week and Ingram being out hurts with Lynch on bye. Lacy better step up this week and it sounds like many of you will be on the same boat. Start rowing!

I'll put the zero-rb strategy to the test next week. My team has the Peterson, Ball, Ingram, Moreno combo referenced above. Oh and my 2nd qb Palmer is out. And Demaryius.

My week 4 wildcard is Steve Smith Sr against his old team!

I'm expecting the cut line to be ~115 this week though. Six teams on a bye, 3 of them being heavy with contest players (Denver, Seattle, Cinci) along with injuries to other expensive contest players, purposeful week 4 bye stacking, etc

Not on my site (yet, but this is coming soon).

On FBG you can easily see this, though. http://subscribers.footballguys.com/myfbg/mycontestteam.php
Did it the hard way with the "all players" for each week.

  • 11/30 players not used yet, accounting for $103/$250 (including Big Ben, Lacy, and Cameron)
  • Max cost of "used" players in any week was $93 in week 2
  • So far averaging 2 points per $ spent on the players used
  • Only players used each week are Bradshaw and Antonio Brown

$146 languished on my bench last week, though in Calvin's defense, his 14.2 points was an eminently usable score. My WRs have been carrying my team, accounting for both of my flexes each week. The 6 of them have combined to give me 15 double-digit scores, including six 20+ point games. I've twice had to leave 14-point games sitting on my bench because it was one of the two worst WR scores of the week for me. Sanders and Brown are my only byes of note this week, which means I'm probably going to have to count all four of my remaining WRs no matter what they do. Hopefully they come through for another week. Floyd worries me the most- another dud from him and I'm stuck flexing a 2-point game from Riddick or McKinnon, instead.

Wondering how many teams are guaranteed to take a zero at at least one position this week before a snap is even taken, due to Bye week, injuries, suspensions, or strategy (1 QB=Manning strategy)?

I doubt many have that concern at WR, but bet that there are more than a few at QB, RB, and TE (and possibly K).

Sounds right, I own the Eifert, Reed combo as well, their 0's are just soaking up the unused cash.

j stew, ingram out... turbin, ball bye.... vereen the last RB left... demaryius on bye... boykin and hunter not doing much..... need my trio of TE's graham, witten and ertz to come through big time

This is going to be close - I am 8 points above the cutline right now, with Cutler -19.25

Cutler is one of the few players who can move the needle significantly tonight, so if he plays a great game, I should be able to catch the wave, and if he plays poorly, then a big change in the cut line is not likely.
all 3 TE's are in play for me this week. Sitting at 148 with Cutler and CJ2K so I should be fine. You need to get through through. We gotta make the big 3 TE plan look good. lol
Just by the hair of my chin

Yup. 1/4th of a TE start, really- only got about a quarter out of Eifert before he went down. Triple zeroes each of the last two weeks. Most likely looking at two more weeks of zeroes, at a bare minimum.
