2016-17 CFB Bowl Games thread: Bama vs ClemPson for all the marbles (1 Viewer)

Kiffin undefeated in championship games
This was like OBJ going to Miami, only worse.  Saban's ego might have cost him tonight, but then again Bama's offense didn't lose the game.  It was their "all-time great defense."

And Bama lost this game as much as ClemPson won it.  Great drama, great sport.

Final yards: Clemson 511-376 (420-155 passing).

Time of possession: Clemson 34:27 to 25:33.

I guess the question is, how the hell did Alabama keep it that close? (Aside from the two turnovers).

What a great game! We definitely don't need more college football, though.

Disagree a bit on the bolded.  When they said Clemson had run nearly 70 plays at the end of the 3rd quarter, I thought "uh-oh".  Offense couldn't stay on the field long enough to give the D a break and they wore down in the 4th.

Offense not able to sustain drives enough in second half to keep that D off the field. That is usually what Bama is doing in every game - grinding it out and letting D rest. Tonight they couldn't hang on.

The "this Alabama D is the greatest ever" shtick wears thin on me is all.  ClemPson's offense dominated that second half, it was awesome.

If Watson can sit a year in the NFL and learn, I think he can be good up there.  He's very smart, he's calm, and he's clutch.  Good for him, good for Clemson.

Dabo probably sharted in the 3rd quarter.
I think he could be a lot like Wilson.  Both smart, mobile, smallish.

1% of me wanted Bama to win because Boulware seems like a massive **** wad.  99% wanted Clemson because Alabama.  So I'm mostly pleased right now.

The best big time college game I have ever watched.

Thought Clemson was making a big mistake with the way they were punting and kicking off and showing zero respect for Hurts passing but they were spot on. They knew he could not beat them through the air.

God and love prevailed for Dabo...

Incredible game again...can't ask for more.  Watson just beat us.  Congrats @bigmarc27
Thanks man, amazing game. From about 7 mins until the finish, I could barely breath.  You gotta beat the best to be the best, and there's no doubt Bama has proven time and time again their place up top.

I really can't believe it. The year before my freshman year, we were 3-8 and firing Tommy West.  My freshman year brought Tommy Bowden and I believe only one five star player my entire time there (Roscoe Crosby). Big wins were there, but they were the exception and not the rule. What Dabo has done is just amazing, and I couldn't be more proud. Watson cements himself as the best player in Clemson history and goes out on top!

GO TIGERS!!

For me, the 2nd best championship game I've seen (after USC vs Texas).

Reading the comments here and on ESPN, the Alabama fans are nothing but total class in defeat.
