7 of the Brady/Gronk/David Johnson teams were eliminated last week, leaving only 5 of us.48 teams picked Brady, Gronk, and David Johnson for a combined $75 -- arguably the top QB, RB, and TE. 12 are still alive, despite no help from Brady and Gronk the first 4 weeks.
With all 3 of them on bye this week, perhaps most of the 12 remaining teams won't survive to next week.
I like the odds going forward for any of those 12 teams that survive this week, which will hopefully include mine.
I was feeling pretty good about my team until I took a look at yours. Yours is built for the final few weeks as long as you can make it through the season and byes and looks like its clear sailing for you now, good luck!Sitting at #2 this week at 234.95, almost 100 above the cut, with Brady (-12.55) and Gronk (-20.40) still to go. Have a shot at #1 for the week for the first time, and I don't even have Elliott, as I do in my main league.
Boy, I hope I can make the playoffs and have my guys perform like this.
Yep. There was a discussion here in past years about smaller stud rosters vs. larger rosters, and I've always thought I'd have a better chance in the playoffs with the studs, as long as I was lucky enough to stay pretty healthy. This year, I took a risk with guys who were discounted because they were out in the first few weeks (Brady, Gronk, Bell), which allowed me to load up on studs. I know it's clearly easier to make it through the season with byes and injuries with a large roster, since you only need to clear the cut line each week, but I think if you can pick the right studs and they stay relatively healthy, you have a better chance to score high in the playoffs if you make it that far.I was feeling pretty good about my team until I took a look at yours. Dropped to #3 after the Sunday night game, at 237.90 and done. If Brady had scored that last TD (or any TD), I'd have been in the #1 spot, though it doesn't matter until the playoffs.Sitting at #2 this week at 234.95, almost 100 above the cut, with Brady (-12.55) and Gronk (-20.40) still to go. Yep.A bunch of the 31 remaining Brady/Gronk owners should get eliminated after their underperformance this week...
I don't know about "across the board"--there are only 71 teams with Gronk still alive. I guess it also impacts Brady some, but against SF it's not like he'll be worthless.Raiderfan32904 said:Gronk being out is like adding another bye week. Sucks but at least there should be a healthy hit across the board. Also glad to be still alive in this thing this late. Other bye week issues I have to hope to get along without are Julio, Hunter Henry, and the Jets DST.
Congrats. I was done at 5.8 over the cut line before last night and thought I was toast. The line somehow only moved 5.2 and I made it through by .6.Jayrod said:Crap. Sweating out tonight. Exactly 10 pts over the cut and I'm finished. Praying for a low scoring game. With so few people left, MNF could move the line as much as 15 I'm guessing.
Had some good scores was week (Walker & Bell), but taking a combined 13.5 from my 2 WRs are crippling. Had only Marshall and Michael Thomas active, but that was still a pathetic showing.
I'm pretty sure they don't take into account scoring changes. You are safe.Congrats. I was done at 5.8 over the cut line before last night and thought I was toast. The line somehow only moved 5.2 and I made it through by .6.
Anyone know if there is a chance of scoring changes or am I safe?
So he's safe AFTER 11:59 tonight.I'm pretty sure they don't take into account scoring changes. You are safe.
Per the contest rules:
"All scoring is determined final at 11:59pm ET on Tuesday regardless if the NFL later changes the data. Preliminary weekly results will be published on Tuesday morning following the completion of all games.
All stat changes made by the league prior to 11:59pm ET Tuesday will be incorporated into the contest scoring and standings reflecting these changes will be posted on Wednesday morning. Users have until 5:00 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday to report possible scoring errors to drinen@footballguys.com. The standings posted on Thursday morning are considered official, even if an error (by the league, by Footballguys, or by anyone or anything else) is later discovered."
Wow! I just was guessing there were a ton more Gronk owners than not. That's a huge chunk of dead money for a few of us next week.I don't know about "across the board"--there are only 71 teams with Gronk still alive. Started with 1158 teams--the survival rate for his teams is way below the average. FWIW, 18 teams have him combined with either Julio or Freeman, almost doubling their dead money.Wow! I suspect Brady will be good but not great against SF, since you can run the ball right down SF's throat. Expect 100-150 yds and 1-2 TDs from Blount.I don't know about "across the board"--there are only 71 teams with Gronk still alive. Most Gronk owners were probably eliminated early when he was hurt and Brady was suspended, and he was only owned by about 8-9% of the entries to start.Wow! I just was guessing there were a ton more Gronk owners than not. That's a huge chunk of dead money for a few of us next week.
