2016 Subscriber Contest - live scoring in first post (1 Viewer)

survived by 4 points, just barely thanks to CMike and his 1 yard run with a TD.  I believe i'm out next week.  Tied with Bloom this week at 2138.  LOL

Getting down to the nitty gritty.  One thing I don't think I appreciated is that next week, nearly 1 in 3 teams will be cut.

With heavily owned QBs like Stafford (34.5% of teams remaining) and Taylor (26.3%) on bye and heavily owned RBs like Michael (62.5%), Ware (48.8%), and Henry (41.7%) slumping or possibly/probably out, I'm hoping to fly under the radar for another week.  With 5 guys on bye myself (used 18 times total this year) I'm relieved to see some of those big names taking a seat.

After a week of 193.8 I'm back up to #1 overall, some cracks in the armor starting to show though.

Made it through this week by 1 point.  Amazing.

Now I play the next two weeks with 1 QB.....Rivers is alone this week, and Stafford next week if I advance.

never really liked my team this year, but they are still around... albeit trending down. 29 players and a ##### aint one

players that never contributed and were a waste of money: RG3, J Allen, D Washington, Kearse, Max Williams.

I knew my injury riddled team wouldn't last much longer. I'm out :(

Good luck to those remaining. I hope a forum regular takes the prize!

Up to 91st after a 200 point week. My TEs stink - Allen, Bennett, Cook, Green and Gillmore so hoping to make up for it everywhere else. Still no contributions from three of my players- Morris, Cook  and Gillmore but hopefully Cook can get it going starting this week. Week 13 is my toughest week with Murray and Crowell out.

Cuts getting much larger now each week.

Week 10: 30% out

Week 11: 37.5% out

Week 12: 50% out

Week 13: 50% out

Good luck to all who remain.

woo hoo!!!! made the top 500. wicked crazy awesome. best i have ever done. some of you have some amazing teams left and should rightfully crush the competition. just happy to still be in the game.

48 teams picked Brady, Gronk, and David Johnson for a combined $75 -- arguably the top QB, RB, and TE.  12 are still alive, despite no help from Brady and Gronk the first 4 weeks.

With all 3 of them on bye this week, perhaps most of the 12 remaining teams won't survive to next week.

I like the odds going forward for any of those 12 teams that survive this week, which will hopefully include mine.
7 of the Brady/Gronk/David Johnson teams were eliminated last week, leaving only 5 of us.

After surviving that week, and being #103 so far despite missing Brady, Gronk, and Bell for the first few weeks, I like my chances going forward.  It helps that most of these remaining teams were eliminated last week.

If my guys stay healthy, who knows:

40 over cutoff with Bell playing and no QB points yet (Brady)

Walker and Diggs were huge today

The rest of my team sucks but Ezekiel Elliott and David Johnson will keep me alive for another week.  I think I've only finished in the top 1000 one time.

:X

28 below the cut with no qb points yet (Stafford and Brady), and Gronk-5, no defense yet either but not expecting much there (cin and nyg).  Gonna be close.

Sitting at #2 this week at 234.95, almost 100 above the cut, with Brady (-12.55) and Gronk (-20.40) still to go.  Have a shot at #1 for the week for the first time, and I don't even have Elliott, as I do in my main league.

Boy, I hope I can make the playoffs and have my guys perform like this.

I was worried about making the cut this week with 5 of my 20 man rotation on bye.  But going into SNF I am sitting at #30 overall with Gronk still to go.

Currently 32.95 points over the cut line with dalton -25.1 and Bernard, Michael and Locket at -14.1 and -14.6 for my flex spots. With 1000+ spots currently between me and the cut, I should be good but seems like there will be quite a few players in play in the 2 games left. Predictions on how high the cut line pushes this week?

I was feeling pretty good about my team until I took a look at yours.  Yours is built for the final few weeks as long as you can make it through the season and byes and looks like its clear sailing for you now, good luck!

Yep.  There was a discussion here in past years about smaller stud rosters vs. larger rosters, and I've always thought I'd have a better chance in the playoffs with the studs, as long as I was lucky enough to stay pretty healthy.  This year, I took a risk with guys who were discounted because they were out in the first few weeks (Brady, Gronk, Bell), which allowed me to load up on studs.  I know it's clearly easier to make it through the season with byes and injuries with a large roster, since you only need to clear the cut line each week, but I think if you can pick the right studs and they stay relatively healthy, you have a better chance to score high in the playoffs if you make it that far.

Hopefully, I'll have a chance to test that thinking this year in the playoffs.  If Brady, DJohnson, Murray, Bell, ABrown, Julio, Diggs, Thomas, Gronk, and Rudolph can stay healthy, I really like my 19-player team.

First week where I haven't scored at least 175 and barring a Victor Cruz miracle it looks like I'm out.  Happy overall but can't help but feel a bit bummed that couldn't get any wide receivers to step up this week.

Dropped to #3 after the Sunday night game, at 237.90 and done.  If Brady had scored that last TD (or any TD), I'd have been in the #1 spot, though it doesn't matter until the playoffs.

A bunch of the 31 remaining Brady/Gronk owners should get eliminated after their underperformance this week...

My band of outcasts survived another week.  Michael Floyd made an appearance!  Where did that dude come from?  And I'm hearing chatter about some rumblings regarding some rumors that Sammy Watkins might set foot on the practice field.  WATCH OUT BOYS!!  I'M PEAKING LATE!

In the clubhouse with Only 1.1 points and 33 places above cut with nothing left. Didn't think I was at any risk of dropping out this week but looks like  the end.

Yep. :bye:  Between those two, Evans, wallace, and marshall having poor games and McCoy, Stafford, and Moncrief on bye I'm out unless the Giants or Bengals d score 40 points.  Next year I might avoid late bye weeks but the concept was to take risk and hope others with the same players would fall.  Still, love this contest.  Good luck to the rest of y'all.

My cushion was cut not quite in half last night. Ownership numbers look to be low enough for tonight's game that I think I will move on barring something crazy happening tonight. Glad Brady had no TDs or it could have gotten really tight.

My run has ended. 1.2 short of the cutoff with Shepard to go. I lasted longer than I thought considering the dumpster fire I put together. Good luck all

Crap.  Sweating out tonight.  Exactly 10 pts over the cut and I'm finished.  Praying for a low scoring game.  With so few people left, MNF could move the line as much as 15 I'm guessing.

Had some good scores was week (Walker & Bell), but taking a combined 13.5 from my 2 WRs are crippling.  Had only Marshall and Michael Thomas active, but that was still a pathetic showing.

Survived although not a great week with a score of 180. Murray and Brown saved my butt this week. Ill be missing Melvin Gordon, Booker and McManus next week so hoping to survive.

Gronk being out is like adding another bye week.  Sucks but at least there should be a healthy hit across the board.  Also glad to be still alive in this thing this late.  Other bye week issues I have to hope to get along without are Julio, Hunter Henry, and the Jets DST.

I don't know about "across the board"--there are only 71 teams with Gronk still alive.  I guess it also impacts Brady some, but against SF it's not like he'll be worthless.

Congrats.  I was done at 5.8 over the cut line before last night and thought I was toast.  The line somehow only moved 5.2 and I made it through by .6.

Anyone know if there is a chance of scoring changes or am I safe?

I'm struggling right now and barely survived this week with a 159.0 score.

My QB's are OK, my RB's are suddenly thin thanks to the demise of C-Mike.  My WR's have been suspect all season thanks to Marshall's lackluster scores and Gordon being a no-show.  My TE's are strength and my K & D are better than average as well.

For me to finish in the money, I will need the following to happen:

1) One of Michael, Morris or White to step up at RB and for Spencer Ware to stay healthy.

2) Brandon Marshall and/or Marvin Jones to start putting up bigger games.

3) My QB's and TE's to stay healthy.

I'm pretty sure they don't take into account scoring changes.  You are safe.

Per the contest rules:

"All scoring is determined final at 11:59pm ET on Tuesday regardless if the NFL later changes the data. Preliminary weekly results will be published on Tuesday morning following the completion of all games.

All stat changes made by the league prior to 11:59pm ET Tuesday will be incorporated into the contest scoring and standings reflecting these changes will be posted on Wednesday morning. Users have until 5:00 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday to report possible scoring errors to drinen@footballguys.com. The standings posted on Thursday morning are considered official, even if an error (by the league, by Footballguys, or by anyone or anything else) is later discovered."

So he's safe AFTER 11:59 tonight.

Wow! I just was guessing there were a ton more Gronk owners than not. That's a huge chunk of dead money for a few of us next week.

Started with 1158 teams--the survival rate for his teams is way below the average. FWIW, 18 teams have him combined with either Julio or Freeman, almost doubling their dead money.

I suspect Brady will be good but not great against SF, since you can run the ball right down SF's throat.  Expect 100-150 yds and 1-2 TDs from Blount.

2nd worst week of the year posted this week but enough to survive and move on. Whew. Couple key players on bye this week for me - namely Matt Ryan and Melvin Gordon. Going to need some contributions from some where this week to survive.
