***2017 Cakeleeg Leeg Thread*** - let's just call it a day (1 Viewer)

Doctor Detroit said:
If my team stinks then I have no one to blame but myself because I mostly got everything I wanted, never got sniped within two draft spots.

Best 2 picks: 7.6 Carlos Carrasco and 9.6 Aledmys Diaz.  Carrasco has #1 upside if he's healthy, Diaz is a sleeper who has no reason to regress

Worst pick: 16.09 Yuli Gurriel, I'm all in on this guy with little faith

Best sleeper: Joey Gallo and his 30+ homers

Wish I would have: Taken a starter in the 11th instead of taking Jarrod Dyson.  Cole Hamels and Garret Cole went before I took Matz in the 12th, preferred both of those guys to Matz.

Chance of winning Cake:  8 to 1, still better than Capella and that really is the only thing that counts.
Best pick: I feel like I got multiple starting pitchers way past ADP. I like my SP primarily because of that. A few of these guys (Porcello, Fulmer) aren't great but will be reliable and should (maybe) rack up some wins.

Worst pick: easily Kiermaier. I was rushed with something at the moment and phoned that one in, waaaay ahead of his ADP. I do like his 20/20 potential though, he's a better hitter than a few years ago.

Best sleeper: Steve Pearce.

From what I read about Solarte he seems ok. I don't follow enough to have my favorite sleepers.

Wish I would not have: paid the monthly fee for baseball prospectus. It kind of sucked and then on day 3 they rolled the fantasy tool I was using into their annual subscription :lmao:  ####ing nerds

Chance of winning cake: terrible, because now is the most I will pay attention all year. Of course I'll beat cos though and think I have a shot at Dr. D.

TRE> Greg Allen isn't in the Yahoo database, so I assigned you Gregor Blanco as a placeholder.  You are entitled to him once he becomes available, but you have to keep your boy Gregor on your roster until then.

Also, Blanco cannot be used to accumulate stats.

ADP on Chapman and Jansen in 15-teamers is 44 and 45. They went 43rd and 47th in Pie.

Weird thing to be obsessed about.
:lmao:

Their ADPs are in the 70s knob.  They went 68 and 78 in LABR for reference.

And I'm not obsessed about it, I just think you're dumb is all.

That's data from NFBC (where they use the same rosters we use, minus 2 catchers, in a 15-team format). If you want to find some random ESPN ADP based primarily on where guys are slotted in predraft rankings and auto-drafts from free leagues, that's on you.

NFBC?  That's a small sample size don't you think?
That is 160 leagues, I think. You have a larger sample size of a Pie/Cake format? Because I'd be glad to take a look.

Larger point at hand: If I wanted Jansen/Chapman, I had to take one of them around the 3/4 turn. You can think I'm dumb for doing it, but even you have to admit it's pretty much impossible one is there when I pick at #73 (5.13). They were going off the board in Cake by then, which is a joke, by the way. Literally 0 of those 160 NFBC leagues would've had Jansen on the board past #64, even in the league where he fell the most.

In summation: If your issue is with me wanting Jansen, so be it. I'm dumb. If your issue is with me taking him where I took him, you're the dumb one.

Chapman went 82nd in TOUT wars, Jansen went 88th.  I think it's cute that you think NFBC has experts, they are really just a bunch of guys who would normally play on ESPN but want to throw $1000 down the drain instead.

Should be easy money for you then, bro.

I think it's cute you think TOUT wars is worth monitoring.

According to these results, Chapman went 67th and Jansen went 76th. Am I reading that wrong? Also, Captain Hook is in that league. Are we really setting our fantasy gold standard by anything THAT guy does?

ETA: Looks like your boy Dyson went in Round 17 here.
