@Steeler - Calcomatic (or at least the "Check entry" bookmarklet) isn't showing a bye week for Ricky Seals-Jones.  He shows up with (Jones) as the team instead of (ARI), probably due to the hyphenated last name.

ETA - also shows his price as 9, which is the bye week, rather than $6, his actual price

The lesson is, don't pick players with a hyphen in their name ;)

I'm not sure I will be able to make a change to the bookmarklet at this time because I'm really busy at my real job and with real life.... ill let you know if i get to it.

No worries.  I took a quick glance at it but (a) javascript isn't my strong suit and (b) I HATE regex.

But I'm guessing it's here, replacing hyphen with comma (I think).  If it looked for a hyphen surrounded by spaces then I think it would leave the hyphen in "Seals-Jones" alone.

Code:
.replace(-/|\//g, ',')

I've got him as $7

Maybe it's just me but I don't like any RBs.

I know we need them but ####...
since you do not like any, you should choose only the minimum requirement of two so that you can maximize your potential in the other positions that you do like

What's the feeling on the top 5 or so RBs?
Is their value accurately represented by price?

Take a guy like Kamara. Using this scoring system from last year he would have been 277 points, but Hopkins costing the same amount of money is at 311 points

Comparing RB to RB, Elliot is the same price but average his last year's stats out to 16 games and he's at 305 points

Even Hunt... he costs $6 less than Kamara but would have had 268 points last year.

Seems like there is some interesting value to be had outside of the very top RBs

I’ve had Gurley selected since day one and am only now considering moving down instead and getting a 2 for 1.

I have never done well at this, so here is my selection, just so the wise can stay away from it:

QB - Derek Carr - 9
QB - Andy Dalton - 6
QB - Josh Allen - 3
RB - Alex Collins - 21
RB - LeSean McCoy - 21
RB - Rex Burkhead - 16
RB - Royce Freeman - 16
RB - Chris Carson - 11
WR - Keenan Allen - 30
WR - JuJu Smith-Schuster - 21
WR - Michael Crabtree - 19
WR - Jamison Crowder - 17
WR - Corey Davis - 15
TE - George Kittle - 12
TE - Charles Clay - 8
PK - Justin Tucker - 6
PK - Adam Vinatieri - 3
TD - Minnesota Vikings - 7
TD - New Orleans Saints - 6
TD - Cincinnati Bengals - 3

Well late to the party but back for another year of torment.... spending and predictions to start the year off.

like every year (RIP last season with injury’s) I will be investing top money in RB atleast 120 in any lineup I’ve done.

QB’s will demolish a few cut lines (think manning VS rothesberger type seasons)

WR too much low end value this season. Won’t spend more that $14 on one and under $60 total

Winners will be decided at TE picks this year. Gronk and Graham both go down by week 10 and some low money guys hit top 5

kickers are dropping like flies already and the 2$ kicker picks are toast.

a QB goes over 5K yards and 45 touchdowns.

A RB goes over 2200 yards on the ground. (Yes I know who but not telling)

A kicker makes a 60 yarder

A guy reads the rules and still picks 10+ QB’s

most kickers on a roster under 8 this year (rip 10 kicker guy)

I get eliminated week 11 by less than 5pts.

How many players have y'all kept on the vast majority or all of your iterations?

I have 5 steady picks. 2 of which are my defenses. A kicker for name more than anything else (could be my brother), a $2 TE and a $4 WR. I had a $5 WR on almost all but he's off right now... Will probably change.

I can't seem to form a team without Ronald Jones and Sam Bradford.  Easy money on those two imo.

You may want to check bye weeks for your RB's and TE's

Kamara price bumped for early bye week and Ingram suspension.

Hunt price a little lower due to late bye.

Elliott maybe priced a little low due to uncertainty coming off bad team season?  Or maybe he's just a bargain.

switched from Elliot down. upgraded my rb3 back to Dion and my te1 and te3. otherwise my wrs seem set. QBs are looking fine for now. just been playing with my RBs lately mostly. trying to find the best value

I am gonna pose this question for last year's participants - in what round were you eliminated last year?  I am asking to try to determine when a decent entry has to start worrying.  Sure, injuries can hit anyone, but there will be a handful of crazy entrants with wild rosters.  I have to assume most average FBG'ers were still alive in week 6, right?
I usually get bounced between week 10 and week 12...which is not so bad except my wife started playing two years ago and finished in the top 70 after investing 5 minutes picking her team.

:kicksrock:

Fairly similar to mine. I like it!

Anyone care to talk me off the ledge of a gronk/njoku combo? Week 11 but they're the only players that matter with a week 11 bye.

Week 11 is pretty late to be taking a goose egg.  You didn't say if you grabbed a cheap third TE?

4 actually. 3 relevant and my favorite $2 flier

TE - Rob Gronkowski - NE/11 - $26
TE - David Njoku - CLE/11 - $12
TE - Austin Hooper - ATL/8 - $8
TE - Adam Shaheen - CHI/5 - $2 (will monitor his injuries but if he plays late it could be worth $2, if he's out for the season I'll grab a 3rd defense)

Since you have another option in week 11, sure.  It's all personal preference.  With your top 3 TE's, you are probably gonna be using a flex score in multiple weeks.  Good luck.

Njoku is $12.  Doyle and Burton are each only $2 more.  I think Kittle is a better choice at $12, and that both Hooper at $8 and Eifert at $9 will outperform him.

Leaning towards getting CLE exposure through Hyde, Duke and, gasp, the $2 defense.

But its TE, so its all idle speculation :D

I'd bet that $2 defense is among the most widely owned pieces this year.

Still at 25 made a couple of changes a week ago. Thanks to the post about TE values but I think I am set now.  As long are as there are no injuries.

this will change a million times, but I like this approach:

QB - Eli Manning - NYG/9 - $7
QB - Mitchell Trubisky - CHI/5 - $7
QB - Joe Flacco - BAL/10 - $5

RB - Leonard Fournette - JAX/9 - $29
RB - Christian McCaffrey - CAR/4 - $26
RB - Royce Freeman - DEN/10 - $16
RB - Corey Clement - PHI/9 - $10
RB - James White - NE/11 - $9

WR - Keenan Allen - LAC/8 - $30
WR - Tyreek Hill - KC/12 - $23
WR - Emmanuel Sanders - DEN/10 - $17
WR - Marquise Goodwin - SF/11 - $13
WR - Josh Doctson - WAS/4 - $9
WR - Michael Gallup - DAL/8 - $6

TE - David Njoku - CLE/11 - $12
TE - Ben Watson - NO/6 - $8
TE - Austin Hooper - ATL/8 - $8

PK - Josh Lambo - JAX/9 - $3
PK - Dustin Hopkins - WAS/4 - $3
PK - Sebastian Janikowski - SEA/7 - $3
TD - Oakland Raiders - OAK/7 - $2
TD - Miami Dolphins - MIA/11 - $2
TD - Cleveland Browns - CLE/11 - $2

Currant iteration is taking a stab at an 18 man team....completely different than the team I started with before the pre-season games.

QB - Jameis Winston - TB/5 - $10
QB - Eli Manning - NYG/9 - $7

RB - Melvin Gordon - LAC/8 - $30
RB - Leonard Fournette - JAX/9 - $29
RB - Christian McCaffrey - CAR/4 - $26

WR - DeAndre Hopkins - HOU/10 - $35
WR - Tyreek Hill - KC/12 - $23

TE - Dallas Goedert - PHI/9 - $4

PK - Wil Lutz - NO/6 - $5
PK - Graham Gano - CAR/4 - $5

TD - Los Angeles Chargers - LAC/8 - $7
TD - Cleveland Browns - CLE/11 - $2
