That was unreal. I ran 55m and 100m hurdles in school. I can't imagine a human running 400m hurdles in under 46 seconds and yet that guy just did. That 400 m hurdles final was insane.

Yeah it feels like that will be the determining factor. US 3/16 from 3. Those start to go in, they win.U.S. mens hoops team looking/playing small against Spain. They better start hitting jumpers.
I’d like to see less Lillard.I'd like to see more Lavine and Tatum and less Booker.
Rubio has matched his NBA scoring high tonight with his 34I’d like to see less Lillard.
oddly enough Rubio has been the best player
Michael Jordan's ghost took over Ricky's body.I’d like to see less Lillard.

Yeah...obviously I am in no way an olympic athlete. I ran 400m in HS and was pretty good then. That time is absolutely nuts to me without hurdles...doing it with is crazy insane. And the Warholm guy looking like he is pulling away/speeding up at the end of that (may just be the American was gassed and slowing)...it was awesome. That guy went out with a style I used to try running with...go out fast and hope you can hold on making everyone chase you. Except he is super successful at it.That was unreal. I ran 100 and 300 hurdles in high school and the 400. I was very good, we were superstars to break 59 in the 400 with no hurdles. This dude would have beat our State Champion by nearly 100 meters.Yeah...obviously I am in no way an olympic athlete. I was good (3rd best in Knoxville my senior year by a tiny amount from top 2). Got caught in the last strides by a rival and had a teammate who was incredibly fast took first by just a little over me and the other guy. 51 flat was my best relay split. 52.2 was I think my fastest individual. relay we were very good…excellent when our superstar would run with us (but he was usually a 100m and 200m runner then would switch around on some relays or the open 400).I ran 100 and 300 hurdles in high school and the 400. They really started to crank it up on D, which allowed them to get out in transition, and it was curtains at that point. Spain was collapsing whenever we got into the paint, so just tons of open looks. Rubio seriously played the game of his life. US would have won by 20+ if it weren't for him going bonkers.Pretty good second half for the men’s team. If Durant is hitting them like that it’s over.
alright thanks you convinced me to pause sailing, watching the replay now
45.94
lowered it 0.76
not knowing anything about the athletes prerace, when I saw him punching himself I thought “that dude is on crank or sumtin”
then he did the hulk thing post race and tore his own jersey off
well anyway let’s just believe he had an amazing day
IMO, that's still a pretty big line for the ladies. They really started to crank it up on D, which allowed them to get out in transition, and it was curtains at that point. The remaining 4 games should be awesome. This is by far the deepest bball tourney of the Dream Team era. If the US win, it will be well deserved.
I'm seeing US favored by 15.5 against the Aussies - that's laughable imo. I probably won't bet it, I'm invested enough without money on the line, but I love the Aussies getting that many points.
EDIT: 15.5 is the line for the women, who play Australia in the quarters tonight. The US men are favored by 10 in the semis. That makes a lot more sense.
Yeah even if he didn't hulk his jersey in half, I would have still thought the same as you. That time is just unreal. Some say the innovations in the track materials and even the shoes is leading to these world records being smashed. Sure maybe. If it was completely natural, that's one of the most amazing things I've ever seen in track and field, just as astonishing and impressive as Bolt's 9.58 in the 100m. These are times that are out of this world. Simply amazing.
Same, I'm a huge cynic. I'll assume it was clean unless proven otherwise. But it's like hitting 70 home runs instead of 49. Somehow a guy went from elite athlete to superman. It just makes you wonder.I’m a huge Cycling fan, so I am a bit of a cynic. Take this with a grain of salt.
Testing during the pandemic began is 45% of normal. That means, for athletes so inclined to do so, they could train harder with quicker recovery times using PED’s.
I am not an expert. I’m just like you, just a guy reading stuff on the Internet.
In 2013, Karsten Walholm was running the 200 sprint in 22.25, which would be a very good h.s. time in America. A year later he was running world class sub-47 second 400s. It was a remarkable progression.
Lot of allegations out there, no proof. He does come from a country (Norway) which has a history of systemic doping in several different sports. Not as bad as ROC but way worse than most. Let’s give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe people are just jealous. He’s tested clean for 8 years.
If it was clean, that race last night was one of the greatest in history, at any distance.
Swimming marathon is crazy. I don't mean this competition, just the mere fact of doing it. Good lord.

Two straight hours of swimming in a pool is nuts, but to do so in open water? A different level of insane. Unbelievable fitness for those athletes.
I had to turn the volume down. The announcer yelling while everything happens sooo slowly was annoying. Two straight hours of swimming in a pool is nuts, but to do so in open water? A different level of insane. Unbelievable fitness for those athletes.

Jarmila Kratochvílová's 1:53.28 back in 1983 when the Eastern Block countries were all doping like crazy is one of the records I thought would never fall, at least in my lifetime.USA won the first women's gold in the 800 m in over 50 years.
Sydney McLaughlin alert - 400H Final @ 10:30 EDT
