2022 FBG Subscriber Contest is ON - Update - 1st place is $10k + $5k to food bank of their choice (3 Viewers)

So, how did the most common players at each position do so far?
7281 - RB Pierce - 4.40
5675 - K Blankenship - 9.50
3912 - WR Pickens - 1.30 (Sutton is the most common, but hasn't played yet)
3327 - QB Carr - 23.75
2770 - D 49ers - 4.00
1887 - TE Goedert - 10.50

Sorta * Most Popular Rooster. Started by grabbing the Top 2 PK, Top TE, Top 2 Def, Top 2 QB, Top 3 WR, and Top 3 RB. After that filled out with the most highly owned guys left at all positions. At $246 the most popular guy that would still fit on the rooster was Wilson at $3 so I put him in there. $1 leftover

San Francisco 49ers42770
Green Bay Packers42175
Baltimore Ravens42106
Rodrigo Blankenship3IND5675
Evan McPherson6CIN1218
Dallas Goedert15PHI1887
Kyle Pitts24ATL1835
Derek Carr13LV3327
Kirk Cousins14MIN2765
Dameon Pierce10HOU7281
Rhamondre Stevenson15NE2763
Chase Edmonds14MIA2706
Saquon Barkley26NYG2587
AJ Dillon20GB2262
Jeff Wilson3SF1753
Courtland Sutton19DEN4289
George Pickens6PIT3912
Juju Smith-Schuster15KC2650
Romeo Doubs5GB2522
Allen Lazard12GB2508
Amon-Ra St. Brown17DET2081

If you want to be more of a purist I'd say McPherson should be taken off with and the consensus team would roll with 1 kicker and have Isaiah McKenzie in there instead but I think going with these minimums is the more reasonable call.

Quick Ready Format:
QBs 2 for $27 - Carr and Cousins
RBs 6 for $88 - Barkley, Dillon, Stevenson, Edmonds, Pierce, Wilson
WRs 6 for $74 - Sutton, St. Brown, Smith-Schuster, Lazard, Pickens, Doubs
TEs 2 for $39 - Pitts and Goedert
PKs 2 for $9 - McPherson and Blankenship
Defs 3 for $12 - 49ers, Packers, and Ravens

This team would be at 150.45 + (Sutton - 8.50) btw.

Cutline updated. Now sitting at 117.20 heading into tonight's game.
If tonight’s only moves as much as last night’s, I squeak in. I have just under a nine-point cushion and like the rest of y’all, have Courtland Sutton.

With the Contest Querier and the Semi-live scoring after each set of games this year's contest is awesome! Now hopefully I don't get bounced in like week 6 and can enjoy it all to the fullest extent all the way to the finals!

Good luck to all those in here sweating the Turk tonight! I mean after-all let's not forget the legend that is the Turk:

Turkington Turk of the House Turk, First of His Name, the Undefeated, King of the Subscribers and the First Submissions, Challenger of the Great Shark Pool, Breaker of Rosters, and Father of Posters.

What was I, something like the 12th most tweaked roster? guess I might have over-tweaked a bit.

I’m currently 2 points BELOW the cut line but I have Javonte, Sutton, Homer and Okwuegbunam going tonight. Sweating the Turk. Sheesh.

What do you need from them to advance if the cut stays close?

My current top TE score is 5.6.
my lowest flex scores that are highlighted yellow are 5.1 and 6.6.

so if Javonte and Sutton can just have little 10 point games, maybe that carry me through to week 2. But I don’t do the contest maths like you all do, so feel free to correct me.

You might just be ok given your low flex currently! Good luck @joey!!

Going to need a LOT more out of the WRs and RB2 spot... surely this is Higgins floor and the upside WRs will hit. Wish I would have drafted the Taysom Hill cheat code!

Trying to remember how much the MNF game moves the cut. Anyone remember the typical average? With the number of players in tonight's game that are heavily owned.... wondering if we'll see the cut move by 10-12 pts. I'm slightly above, but also have Javonte (-4.4) and Sutton (-8.8) so feeling a little nervous at the moment.

I think you need heavy ownership to move the line...which is there for denver but notesomuch seattle. I'm going to guess the final cut is around 125-127.5. Be advised my guesses aren't worth jack.

The line moves mostly based on ownership. I vividly recall week 11 of 2018, when the Monday night game was LAR @ KC. I went to a cookout and didn't even watch the game. The final score was 54-51, and the cut moved 43.25 points! I had a cushion of 33.30 and had already celebrated.

I am at 128 and still have J. Williams at RB to play tonight. He needs more than 8.5 points to count.
I guess I celebrate this week because I will not advance after next week. I do not have a good feeling about my team this year.

On a side note, does anyone know of a fantasy football site or app that you could set up a similar contest in? Looking to put something together for my buddies and league mates.
Excel would work, but it would be great if there was a site/app that allows for:
1) player to be rostered on multiple teams
2) survivor style that cuts teams each week (can do manually if 1 division and total points)

If someone has a spreadsheet with player values, some VBA could be added to update roster spend once a player is "selected."

Thanks in advance!

@Contest Turk @TheWinz
How many teams had Dak? Can you see the composition of those teams and if he was their most expensive or 2nd most expensive QB rostered?
Teach a man to fish...

But I like when you do it!
You lazy bum!
haha I thought you enjoyed it! :P

Wonder if Dak and Elijah are on any teams

Pretty sure MFL would work for this. Set your own values and let everyone choose a team with a salary cap. Enter teams manually.

Sitting around 40 pts above the cutline, no players left. Random observations:
  • Really expected more from Pitts week 1 vs. Saints. Kelce ftw so far.
  • The decision between J.Allen, Kupp, or Jefferson was tough (all bye week 7) but they were all great. Got Kupp.
  • Happy so far with Carr/Jones combo

Pretty interesting... A few other observations:
  • Teams that paid up for a stud WR (Kupp, JJ, Chase) will be well positioned for finals
  • Kelce is still TE king
  • Everett, Hurst, Higbee appear to be good bargain options -- other bargains hit too, but expect TEs on pass heavy teams to hit more often. Argument can be made for TEs with bad/inexperienced QBs (Conklin, Freier, etc.)
  • QB - consensus top 6 all performed in top 10 week 1 while Allen and Mahomes were leading by significant margin // several mid-tier guys finished outside top 20 -- Dak, Rodgers, Lance, Stafford, Brady -- kudos to Carr & Cousins truthers
  • RBs that are rookies, returning from injury, Patriots/Eagles/Dolphins, or no evidence of bellcow back work (Pierce, Hall, ETN, Akers, Dobbins, Mitchell, Edmonds) are high risk high reward, and should be complemented with safe, high floor RBs
  • Seems more RB & WR in the $10-20 (mid-range) busted than hit in week 1
  • Several $3-10 (bargain) RB & WRs hit in week 1, and the hit/bust rate does not appear to be drastically worse -- if any worse at all -- than the $10-20 (mid-range) range guys mentioned above
  • Leads one to wonder if rostering 7-14 bargain RB&WR is a better strategy than 4-8 mid-range guys

Didn't see a post showing ownership numbers for tonight's players.

QB - Wilson (1592), Smith (142), Lock (30)
Wilson is the 6th most common QB, but there are only 23 teams I could find with Wilson as the only QB. There's no way to tell what QB's the other 1569 rosters have, unless you search every one individually. Geno and Drew are too rare to make a dent.

RB - Williams (1429), Penny (1059), Walker (620), Gordon (325), Homer (105), Dallas (98)
With their prices and ownership, Javonte & Rashaad could push the line a fair bit. I only say that because there really weren't a lot of great scores by common RB's.

WR - Sutton (4289), Jeudy (651), Metcalf (532), Lockett (340), Hamler (337), Eskridge (23)
No secret here - Sutton is the guy. Believe it or not, I think the top 2 RB's will affect (or is it effect) the line more though, because many WR's put up great games.

TE - Okwuegbunam (1700), Fant (238), Dissly (103), Dulcich (59)
Albert O will move the line more than you'd think. He is the 3rd most common TE, and the 4 others in the top 5 are Goedert (10.5 pts), Pitts (4.9 pts), Kmet (0.0 pts), and Njoku (2.2 pts). Also, TE's 7-9 (Knox, Tonyan, and Alie-Cox) were all 8 and under.

K - McManus (1030), Myers (242)
305 McManus owners already have 9.5 (Blankenship). Only 6 of the 24 kickers $4 and above scored in double digits (thanks 22-kicker guy).

D - DEN (1411), SEA (156)
DEN is the 7th most common and has a great matchup. SEA won't move the line unless they score 100 points, and even then, only 1% of the entries will benefit.

every year right before the contest locks and im reviewing my rooster its like "omg i have so much te and wr value :hifive: "

then like halfway through week 1 it turns into "omg my season is relying on wandale robinson, george pickens, nico collins, brevin jordan and mo-alie cox "

seriously, and i mean it this time, this my last year with a rooster full of garbage value players. next year its an 18 man stud filled rooster or else i want you to kick me in the balls.

mods pls pin this to the 1st page of the 2023 thread.

Keep open for 20-21 players. Dial into your favorite cheap/ home run options to go with your studs. Someone like Hilliard could be key to winning it all.
